Happy Hour Bar & Grill

Typical bar food which seems overpriced to me. Service was ok, but we had to ask 3 times and finally got it to go as we gave up waiting for a simple hamburger for our dog. It does have a beautiful setting and great patio seating. Also, a grassy area below to stretch out a little. Unfortunately, when we were there, someone was smoking on the patio. As someone who doesn't smoke, I didn't really appreciate having to smell it while eating.

This place is a hidden gem in Yellowstone. Away from the tourist traps. It has its own character and charm. The atmosphere is wonderful, and it comes with fantastic food. We had a great lunch with a great view. We loved it so much that we came back before we left the area.

I came to visit the city, and one of the things I was most excited about was trying the local restaurants. I chose this place because of its convenience to my accommodation, and I must say, the restaurant itself is beautiful and offers incredible views. Unfortunately, my experience was spoiled by two things. First, they have a dynamic where they spray customers with water guns. While I don’t mind if it’s part of the atmosphere, I do expect not to be targeted personally. From a window behind my seat, one of the servers sprayed me four times, even after I expressed my discomfort the first time. As a paying customer, I believe I deserve respect—I am not your best friend. This completely ruined the experience for me. Second, I ordered a hamburger, but everything is an extra—the cheese, bacon, and any other topping. The burger only comes with the bun and meat, and everything else is charged separately. Overall, I did not feel comfortable with the experience, nor did I feel it was worth what I paid. I will not be returning.

Voted the best bar in the state of montana, by the locals and visitors alike. Cold beer, live music, beautiful views, finger liking comfort food, fast and friendly service.

So happy I finally got to check this place out! The service was awesome. I wish I could remember our bartender’s name. Super friendly, delicious food, the bucket of crab is a must have! Unfortunately, it was a little bit rainy yesterday, but on a nice sunny day, there is a lovely patio overlooking a gorgeous lake. I’ll definitely be back.

Got to spend 14 days between Colorado, Wyoming, Idaho and Montana, and this was the best place we’ve been. A local bar with good food amazing beers and most of all a very friendly staff: they found the time to play with our daughter involving her in a water gun battle. We also made friends with every customer the first night. We had to go both evening we’ve been near west Yellowstone. The bartender is the best 😉 ciao da Roma

What a great bar with fair prices! Such a chill atmosphere and the views are amazing.They had live music when we went and an old gentleman was playing harmonica- outstanding!!!

Great location sitting on Hebgen Lake, we love sitting on the deck and over looking the lake and mountains. Food and service are fantastic!! Definitely the fried dill pickles to start, and the bison sliders were delicious!

What a PERFECT dinner, location, and night! Food, Drinks & Service were impeccable The view on Lake Hebgen at sunset was amazing. What a perfect way to cap a day in Yellowstone National Park.

Such a great spot! I would be a regular if I lived here! Only downfall, was a woman who basically took our outside table. Not the establishments fault. Just another entitled person who was very rude! Other than that, it was great!

Went to happy hour after a long day of fishing on the Madison. We ordered the pickle fries, fried Mac bites and I got a burger. All of it tasted good (standard bar food). Washed it all down with a patio pounder ipa. The staff were all great and the patio had a great view.

Best bar & restaurant in W. Yellowstone!! Ali, Emmie, Taryn, Monica & crew are the ABSOLUTE best!! Terrific customer service, couldn't ask for better!! Love these yahoos

We live near there for each summer and look forward all year long to lunch at the Happy Hour. It is so much fun!!!! The food is fine. I like one of the chicken sandwiches. The burgers are just fine as well. But what really makes it is the people and the location. The only bar/restaurant on beautiful Hebgen Lake. All the people who work there are happy and after 2 visits you're part of the team. Make sure you don't miss this one !

Service was ok food no so great we had fried pickles and calamari and they were over the top greasy tasted like they needed to put fresh oil in their fryers

Friendly and welcoming service. Food options are all bar food but it works. Fun atmosphere. If warm enough, sit on the patio for a quiet and scenic time. Looking for fun? Stay inside and chat with the locals or observe the wild Polaroids.

Our food took a while & the server didn't check on us. The bartender seemed annoyed to help anyone. I guess its some people's vibe. Sad too, cuz the view was great. Everyone in our group said the food was okay not great but fine. Lots of menu items were overpriced but this place is in the middle of nowhere so I guess to be expected.

The Grub here is ON POINT! And the staff here was INCREDIBLY FRIENDLY!! Staying at The LakeView Suites across the street while visiting Yellowstone National Park, we decided to hit this joint for some takeout, hoping for something yummy to eat after a long HOT day roaming The Park. COVID-19 precautions are in play here, hand sanitizer, social distancing/limited capacity inside and patio dining available, masks are properly worn by all staff and sign at entrance warns everyone entering to wear a mask. We didn't have to wait long for our food to arrive and while we waited, we were given a pitcher of water to enjoy without even being asked if we wanted some! Now that's customer service! These are the items we munched on... 1/2 Pound GARLIC BURGER: Comes on HOMEMADE FRENCH Bread! This thick burger has a nice flavor to it, not overcooked at all and not too greasy, either. Veggies are fresh. Ample amount of French fries come with meal. No complaints here! Better than expected! FETTUCCINI with White Clam Sauce: Served with shrimps that we're plump and cooked just right. The sauce had a tasty flavor to it, probably could of had a bit more coverage of the noodles, but I'm being nit picky. CHICKEN STRIPS: Comes with 2 big strips of chicken. Filling for young ones or light eaters. Crispy, yet tender inside. Ample serving of French fries with this meal, too. GRILLED CHEESE with Ham: The young ones devoured this! No complaints from them! Gone before I could even ask for a bite... Hah! Chips are not homemade but pretty good serving given. All in all, we enjoyed this meal MUCH MORE than we thought we thought we were going to! If staying at the LakeView Suites, definitely something to consider for a meal to satisfy the hunger cravings! Thanks!

Fun place, great atmosphere! Stopped in for a few drinks after a day in Yellowstone. Very friendly staff, greeted us promptly, engaged us in conversation, gave good suggestions for drinks, and spent an easy hour there just enjoying the company. Treated us like we were old friends.

Great operation in a beat up old stalwart of the lake. The food is fresh and well prepared. The service has never been better.

Came here to get out of the snow and have a cocktail. Upbeat place! Fun atmosphere, good ol' tunes on the jukebox. Had the Mac n cheese balls, yum. Great prices and the staff are pretty great, interested in what you have to say and good interaction. Not a place to slow down, but more a place to have a good time!

Drove 2hrs to see this place and have lunch. They were CLOSED!!! Never going back!! If your links say you're open you should be open!!!!

This place has over the top amazing customer service! Cheap drinks and great food! The kind of vibe that makes bars fun! Sad we missed crabby Wednesday for dinner. Highly recommend to stop in for a drink or several hours!

I know that covid makes things tough and they were busier than they thought they would be...but not at all timely or attentive. The servers were very nice and friendly but having them take our drink order three times and still not getting the order is tough. I want to go back, and give them the benefit of the doubt as they have a great location but I even had to go in and get my check which was wrong and deal with that. I think they can be better but this trip was not.

Crab leg bucket and corona bucket Greatest decisions of my life. I sat there gazing at the immense art among the walls (mainly b**bies) and enjoyed my meal with the boys. It was well worth the visit. Great prices.

This bar was a fun place. Went for Crabby Wednesday, located across the street from our hotel. Right on Hebgan Lake, you can even pull your boat up to the docks and catch a bite. If you're sensitive don't come here. Bunch of topless photos all over the place. Bartender had a mouth on her but if you can get passed that she was friendly. The whole serve team was friendly.

Came out of fishing the Madison with my daughter, tired, exhilarated, and wet ( I fell in ) and discovered a beachfront bar with beautiful views, tasty food, great crablegs(in Monyana!), great views and excellent service. Reasonably priced.

One of the rare places that's hard to describe other than to just tell you to just to go there and see it with your own eyes. Friendly barstaff and in the Top 10 most unique places i've been of all time.

On a 9hour road trip and needed a break from gas station staples. Looking for a pretty view, cocktails & good food. Found it all here! Staff was awesome, food was delicious (garlic burger, chicken Malibu & onion rings were all on point!) highly recommended this place

Happy Hour is a place to get your drink on and get down right stupid and it's all good there. Pictures of T&A all over and let's not forget to mention the hanging undies on the ceiling! Their service is known for their 'rough around the edges' routine and they have it down. The drinks are good, the food is good and also have a small salad bar, which is excellent.

Happy Hour is great to go have drinks and hank out on the patio looking at the water of Hebgan Lake. It's beautiful and the family that owned it are supper friendly, but do not order a well done steak. No such thing as well done. Any how the burgers ate fantastic. Love this place.

The Happy Hour Bar and Restaurant is an interesting place. Located on the shores of beautiful Hebgen Lake outside of West Yellowstone, the decor is probably the tackiest I've seen. Women's undies, topless photos, thong underwear, men's caps, and other tasteless stuff hang from the walls and ceiling in the bar, which is also where the salad bar is located. A trip to the men's room to see the topless mannequin peering though a window is a must. The food is typical fried bar food. There is, however, a garlic burger on the menu that people rave about. The beer and cocktails are great. The Moscow mules are the best and when they are served everyone in the bar will yell, "Copper on the bar!" or "Copper on the floor" depending on where the person that ordered the MM is sitting. This is actually a lot of fun, especially after consuming a few MMs. Local craft beers are on tap and for a special occasion, be sure to order the tropical flavored rainbow shots. During the summer the Happy Hour clientele is as eclectic as it gets with people from all walks of life dropping in for food and drink. The Happy Hour has a deck that overlooks Hebgen Lake and is a great place to be sitting with a beer or Moscow mule at sundown.

Food was fair. The portions were small but prepared fairly well. The young lady that was the bar tender/waitress was not very service oriented ( they were NOT busy ). She half jokingly said that preparing my friend's drink was a pain. She never checked to ask if we needed anything such as refills, if our meal was ok, etc.

We arrived here after driving to see the sights for a cold drink and an appetizer. The bartender was the rudest person I have met in Montana! We ordered drinks and chicken wings and went to sit outside. The chicken wings arrived cold and we sent them back. The waitress that served them took them back with a few pieces that had been bitten into. We noticed the bartender and the waitress looking out the window and looking in our direction while holding the chicken wings. About ten minutes later the order arrived again with the bitten pieces refried and served again. How gross!!! I could not say anything at the time because I did not want to cause a scene in front of my family, but had to let others know and beware!!! As a visitor from New York I must say I have never encountered anything as nasty as this place!

We stopped by because the deck overlooking the lake looked so inviting. Margaritas were expensive but it is a resort-type destination way out of town. People next to us had crab legs which looked good and I could hear them raving about. Don't know if the crab was fresh or frozen, didn't ask that. Our food was fine. Service was excellent and locals were super friendly. It's obviously the hangout for locals and the atmosphere and general laid-back attitude was welcoming. Inside was low ceilings and dark so I'm glad we sat outside. Husband got a laugh out of the naked mannequin in the men's room window. Don't see that everywhere. Don't go and expect 5-star hotel food, go and have a good time and eat decent bar food. And have a drink or two, they'll be happy to accommodate you.

First, know what you're getting. This is nothing but a dive bar with food, essentially. That said, it was exactly what my wife and I wanted after going canning on the lake for an hour or so. We sat on the deck overlooking the lake and mountains, drank a few beers, had a few burgers, and were blissful. The waitress sat down and smoked with us, joked with us, and was helpful as we tried to make our food decisions. They had Salmonfly Honey Rye on tap too, which hit the spot. We spent a lot of money at nicer restaurants during our 9 day trek to Montana and Wyoming, but the Happy Hour Bar is one of our best moments. Granted, it was a Monday evening, so it wasn't very busy, but the quiet we found there was perfect. Wish we could go back tonight!

I love this place. The staff are awesome and full of personality. The food is great and the view spectacular. If your are looking for TGI Fridays this is not for you. This is Montana at its most authentic.
