~Backpacking on a budget through South America~ Great hostel with friendly staff. You could use the baggage room, laundry (at small price) and big outside area. There was an okay breakfast. The evenings outside in the back were very nice. I would come back here

The location on Moneda not far from airport bus stop Los Heroes and the old town is good. There are supermarkets near by and the shared kitchen is well enough equipped to cook (missed spoons though). The rooms and premises are spacious and quiet! Facilities such as the hot showers and toilets worked well. WiFi could be better in the rooms, but overall good. Beds are comfortable and bunk frames are stable. Breakfast is substantial (eggs, white bread, jam, yoghurt, cereals, milk, coffee or tea). Staff is friendly and helpful.||Out of 12 hostels I stayed at in Chili, this one was the best. A major factor is this hostel is relaxed and quiet!||Difficult to extend your stay, as all the beds are online and often the place is fully booked. The neighbourhood is not safe after dark (the part between the hostel and the Human Rights museum is rather run-down).

Huge hostel, great value, nice pool area and service. Location also very central in this city of 6 million people. But since bathrooms and toilets were sometimes very filthy, broken sinks and showers, cannot give 5 stars. Also had to make bed myself on the night when others sleeping and ask for towel that's included.

Hostel building is amazing, very grand, outside is very lovely, lots of terraces and balconies- has so many spots to sit. Free breakfast is huge!!

I loved my stay in this hostel. They provided a towel and clean sheets, which is super convenient. The breakfast was basic but had coffee and toast which is already fine for me. The area feels super safe and is close to the metro. They offer guided tours to various sights with pick up from there and the prices are fair. The staff is super nice and speaks English and the building is enormous so you always find a quiet place to sit and chill too. Amazing

The hostel is very unclean, the bathrooms and the dorms. I went into the bathroom straight after there was someone in there cleaning and honestly couldn't tell the difference. The dorm picture looks nothing like what it is now. The beds are not the nice wooden ones your see with the nice white blanket on. In fact, upon checking in I was given a plastic bag with a sheet and a pillow in it to make my own bed - I can honestly say I've never had to do that and I've stayed in a lot of places! Not the best welcome to anyone staying here and not sure what I'm paying for. The beds are metal, the ladder is not attached to the bed therefore getting up to the top bunk is not only dangerous but noisy. There is a sink in the room but no mirror. There are personal plugs by each bed but no light shelf, safety railing or curtain. Meaning every time someone comes in or out of the room your are disturbed. Adding these small things would make the room a lot more pleasant. Breakfast is average, you get dished up some stone cold eggs that were probably cooked yesterday. Plus points: staff are very nice and all speak great English. Laundry on site that you can do yourself (and avoid stuff going in the dryer!). Close to metro but the area itself isn't that safe after dark at 8pm. Huge area with pool and tables to chill at but it was very dead as there are no social activities organised or bar etc.

I took a private room for one night and I really think that it's impossible to extend more night there. First of all, even though so many people complained about that there is almost no WIFI in the rooms, nothing happened with this. For additional, the room was so different than in the photos it's kind of cheating. I got the toilet seat broken, the toilet door was stuck without option to close it, the towel was dirty with a black stain, the window is stuck and so old that it's impossible to open it. There is a pool table but it's pockets are broken, there is a swimming but it's so dirty. The receptionists were kind but the hostel building feels really like a hospital. Thanks anyway and really hope for taking serious those comments.

Hostel #593 Great place, there is construction noise as they continue to renovate. I was informed there was juice for breakfast but there wasn't. No discounts. Pool is too cold to enter No WiFi in dorm2 and very fast. Dorm3 has it Didn't get eggs on my birthday. Did other days (they saw the cards) Cleaning is only in the morning (someone made a public mess in the early evening and wasn't cleaned despite me mentioning it). Handy location for the airport. Shops a few blocks away. Kitchen isn't bad. No other backpackers. Mainly locals I think. Bed comfortable enough, make your own. Windows do not close properly. Excellent receptionist service (butler level!). Opted to extend my stay as I had cramp and needed to chill. Coffee wasn't good. Two sugary cereals for breakfast and sandwich bread Some sofas are a bit smelly

Yelp
The Happy House Hostel is a former residence, converted into 14 private hotel rooms on the ground floor, and hostel rooms on the upper floor. The interior is beautiful and the breakfast is delicious (cereal, toast, ham, huevos fritos). I stayed in one of the ground floor hotel rooms as part of a Habitat for Humanity group of 12. The flooring in the rooms on the west side creak and are noisier than the corresponding rooms on the east side. My bathroom lacked counter space, so my toothbrush and toiletry kit had to be kept on the table in the bedroom. This hotel deserves between 3 and 4 stars, depending on whether you consider it a hostel (4 stars) or a hotel (3 stars).

Yelp
A great house turned into a hostel. If you stay there, you'll feel the atmosphere of an old house, with high ceiling and "crunchy floors", plus the external areas great for a beer after dinner or a gather-around with the friends you just made there. The breakfast is very good and staff are all nice and very polite.

Yelp
We stayed here twice because of other people who booked us into this joint. I would not stay here again. It's pretty clean but a little funky. Meh, on service....well, it's lacking any sense of hospitality. I just don't get this place, it looks better by photograph than real experience. We were able to find places much nicer in a better location for less money. You can do much better and for less. And these were places with a private bath and no penalties for cancellation.
