We recently rented a flat through this agency. The handover was conducted in a friendly and cooperative manner, and we tried to be flexible throughout the process. However, our ending experience was disappointing.
When we moved in, the apartment was not freshly painted and not properly cleaned, but due to time constraints and the need to move in immediately, we accepted the situation without raising complaints. We even cleaned the flat ourselves before moving out, returning it in a decent condition, not perfect, but cleaner than how we received it.
Despite this, 6,500 CZK were deducted from our deposit for cleaning, which feels highly excessive for a 68 m² apartment! especially considering the state it was in when we arrived. Even more questionable is the fact that the agency informed us they would repaint the flat for the next tenants. If that’s the case, why were we required to return the flat in perfect cleaning condition, knowing that after painting, a new cleaning would be necessary anyway? It raises a serious doubt: were we charged for a cost that the agency should have covered themselves?
To add to the frustration, the deposit was only returned after 62 days, even though we had always paid our rent on time and respected all obligations. This delay, combined with the handling of the charges, reflects a lack of fairness.
Advice for future tenants: Take detailed photos and videos upon arrival, and report any defects immediately. If you don’t document everything, you may be blamed for pre-existing issues. The agency does not take a flexible approach, and anything not backed by clear evidence will likely be ignored.
