Best coffee I’ve had in Chicago in years. The light roast from Tanzania is exquisite. Super friendly owner and nice vibe about the place plus feel-good music (from DJ-like set-up).

This place is a hidden Gem! Only downside… they don’t have a bathroom for customers?

It took us an hour to drive to this location which we chose because we wanted to try the coffee in the bear container. When we get there they told us they don’t have any but continue to charge us $8.75 for a coffee. That price I assume is high simply because they are supposed to provide you with the bear container that you keep. How are you going to charge me for something that you didn’t provide?! If the customer orders the special latte that is priced to provide you with something then there should be a discounted price if you don’t provide that. Music was very loud and could barely have a conversation because of it.

One of the best cappuccinos I have ever had was similar to those I had in Italy.

UPDATE: the owner reached out as I requested, so I’m changing this to a 5 star review. Fantastic coffee shop, the owner goes above and beyond for his customers. Original Review: If ownership reaches out after this review I’ll change it to 5 stars… Went in today, I love this place and the guy who is always there is fantastic and so nice. However, there was a younger girl out front this time, I went to the counter and asked if I could get the “drink that comes in a teddy bear”. I think it’s called the thyme drink or something but I didn’t know the name. She said “we don’t have that”. I said “Oh, it was available at this location last Saturday and I got the drink”. She said “well that was last Saturday” with a weird attitude. I literally stood there confused and taken aback with her demeanor. Awkward silence, then she went to the back and I’m assuming asked the owner, and they both came to the front, the owner with the drink and bear mug in hand. She said nothing after during checkout. I walked away and my friend said “what was that all about” confused with her somewhat negative deportment as well. Don’t hire youth to work customer service if they have no customer service skills. It will ruin your business. Otherwise this place is amazing and the coffee is on point. Perfectly balanced, and once again, the owner or guy who always works there is so personable.

This is my FAVORITE coffee shop! I am so excited this is just around the corner from me! Brandon is always so cheerful and brightens my day. It adds an extra pep to the delicious coffee. I always leave smiling and am grateful to have my new go to coffee shop! Thank you Brandon and Happy Monday Coffee Roasters!

Always a good day when Happy Monday is open. I’ve had both their regular drip coffee and their latte, and neither disappointed. Convenient location right in the middle of a “hole” of coffee shops surrounding the area. My only wish is that they were open during the week too, but they do have other locations to go to during the week (and this location is primarily their roasting facility)

Absolutely love this coffee shop! Happy Monday in Edgewater is such a small and hidden coffee shop with the best service! It always seems to be a hit and busy on the weekends. And that is because it is only open on Saturdays and Sundays! It is dog friendly, trendy, and such a hit. Highly recommend this local joint.

UPDATE: Wow, what a speedy response, thank you. I usually chat with the guy who runs this location who says he is a co-owner. I figured the limited hours had something to do with the menu. Now that you all have gotten rid of the DJ table and added more chairs, it does feel more like a standard cafe! I'm looking forward to the menu changes. Thanks for your consideration! Previous review: I really enjoy their beverages and I keep coming back. That being said, there is almost no price transparency. The only prices they have on their menu are for the THC additions. I've mentioned this to the owner twice (he's a cool guy) but he has always sort of shrugged it off. It bothers me every time I'm in. Sometimes my latte with oat milk comes out different prices. Price transparency is so important for consistency . Not including the prices is a bit elitist, especially when the average drink is $6-$8. You should want folks to come in and comfortably order what they can afford. I hope this suggestion is taken into consideration. The drinks are good and like I said, I keep coming back but this has been a sticking point for me for a year plus.

Amazing coffee! I had the best chocolate donut that was filled with custard. I have no idea where they get their donuts from but it was so good.

The shocking thing about Happy Monday is that they are closed on Mondays! But their roasting skills and bean choice is excellent. Buy your beans here! You will have no regrets!

Stopped by Sunday around noon, it was jumpin! But it's covid times so that was not a great thing for me, it was very loud in there, hopefully they get more fabrics to help with the acoustics. I love their fun Instagramable Uptown location, but it looks like this location is meant to be more basic. Not my thing, but I'm not gonna hate on anyone slinging caffeine and trying to make it in a pandemic. From their website, it sounds like they're forging great relationships in the community, and we need more of that! If I can get a purple Ube latte here like at Drink Happy Thoughts... I'll up to 5 stars From their website: While Drink Happy Thoughts is known for its creative and indulgent coffee concoctions, Happy Monday will serve more simple cafe staples like drip coffee, cold brew and espresso, Salazar said.

I love to walk here every weekend. Best coffee in town! Really great donuts and breakfast pastries too

Very delighted to have found this place. My wife suggested we stop by on our morning walk. It's obvious they use very good quality beans. Best drip coffee I've ever had in a while. My wife also believes the latte she ordered to be the best she's had. We will be returning. Highly recommend.

Lovely neighborhood coffee shop! Have gotten drip coffee and lattes from here and they've always been delicious. Still need to try the kombucha on tap. Staff is always very friendly :)

Such a great spot! Happy Monday only opens on the weekends. When I asked about the remaining of the week, the owner who also dedicates his time to serving his neighborhood and community over the weekends explained that during the week their mission is to Roast coffee as their primarily a roasting facility! Makes total sense! Their coffee shop just down the street in Uptown is always open so it's cool to take a little trip down to enjoy their offerings during the week as well. Coffee is superb, always fresh, and always a great value. It speaks volumes that they're not concerned about charging up their beans but instead offering a good product and being mindful of a great value. Happy Monday serves and provides their coffee through numerous places in Chicago and I applaud them for their tenacity and hard work! Give these guys a follow and visit soon!
