Fun and funky little arcade bar! Good draft beer selection and cocktails. Nice arcade games and outside areas.

Awesome night out! The vibes are immaculate between the retro games, variety of events throughout the month, and the positive energy throughout. Service was good and bartenders handled the Saturday night crowd well. We came for the Dance Independent Electronic Artists Showcase. The artists fit the vibe well and there was something for everybody. The song selection was great, my group was singing along to every song. Drink variety is awesome! We tried the Pink Starburst, Danimals, and Apple Jax shots. Love the nostalgic, well thought out themed drinks. Me and my friend also got the Sex on the Koopa Troopa Beach and the Goo Lagoon (pictured). The drinks were great, worth the price. They come with a cute little candy but we ate those hehe.. They do have a limited selection of domestic beers and could probably expand this a bit. We did not get a chance to try any food but I have heard great things about it. They also have a reasonably priced vending machine with little snacks like chips, candy, Little Bites, etc. The variety of games is so exciting and there is a game for everybody. Games are reasonably priced and strategically spread out around the bar to avoid crowding and keep ample space between patrons. My only complaint is that games like Dance Dance Revolution are finicky as they are older. My friend tried to play on a more advanced level and the machine wasn’t picking up her movements. We are very understanding that these games are older and this did not bother us too much. Overall, awesome place for a night out in the Hudson Valley especially if the crowded club/bar scene isn’t really your thing!

I️ came into Happy Valley with my husband on Saturday night and the three women behind the bar were wonderful. The one with pink hair explained the local options they have and where we should go on our vacation. We will be back!

The vibe here was immaculate! We stopped in for some drinks and games and ended up spending a good chunk of time just enjoying everyone’s company along the way. It’s ticket back off the main street, but that makes it feel even more valuable :)

This place is definitely a vibe. I came here for the first time with some friends and I had a lovely time. There are some fun games, good drinks, and a great staff. It’s also a wonderful spot for cute dates, very LGBTQ friendly, and family friendly as well. Loved it! ☺️👾🎮🍻

Google
cool vibe inside and out, but probably wouldn’t come back. food was like really mid, obviously all frozen and fried, which is like kind of expected from a bar, but the quality for several items was really low. like the tater tots and fried pickles were undercooked and soggy. good vegetarian options though. bartender was friendly but seemed pretty scattered.

I hosted my husband’s 30th birthday here and the drinks, staff, managers, and owner were all amazing! They were so accommodating for a party of 50 people. I would highly recommend having a party here!

Nice place to stop in, have a drink and play a few games. I visited at about 1pm on a nice Sunday and it was practically empty. Lots of tables and seating. The bar had a good variety including about 8ish beers on tap. Prices were about $7-9 each...there are also mixed drinks and other cocktails available which were about $11. They also have some food items you'd expect from a place like this: tots, pizza, chicken tenders...which ranged from $7-10. Many of the arcade games were older: Donkey Kong, Centipede, Area 51, Street Fighter, Pac-Man, Mortal Kombat and others. Most of the arcades were working. They run on quarters, which there was a machine which exchanged bills for coins toward the back. There is an outdoor space with a bunch of picnic-style benches. All staff there were friendly. Adequate parking on the street...I'd imagine you can get a spot on the main street within a block or two away, even on a busy weekend day.

Yelp
This is like barcade in the city just bigger! What a great find! The bartender is amazing and the drinks and "snack food" is reasonably priced! The games are all priced a quarter unless you do pinball. The inside is laid out well and it's open enough to feel comfortable with a group of people! I cannot wait to go back here! We went Sept 14th for my bday.

Yelp
My husband and I went a few weeks ago on what we thought was board gaming night. NBD. We had a drink and decided to play some of the arcade games they had. However, most of the games were out of services. I understand that the cabinet games are hard to get proper repairs to them, but it kinda detracted from the purpose of an arcade bar. Probably not gonna go back.

Yelp
So this review is strictly off of my experience with the bartender on Sunday night. I did not have a chance to enjoy food or ambiance. I will say her vibe was not great and overall terrible when I sat at the bar. I ordered my drink and she took my id and scanned it. She let me know she couldn't serve me since it was expired. I understand that kind of rule, she just did not want to listen to me. I explained I was waiting for the copy in the mail and had proof on my phone for her to scan. She looked completely put out. I showed it to her and tried to have her brighten my screen to scan the barcode and she just didn't get how to do it and refused to serve me. Listen I understand laws but i provided ample proof of my age (32) such an awkward interaction. I left for elsewhere with my four friends. I personally visit the town from time to time and have no desire to return. For an arcade bar it completely lacks a fun staff to match the concept of the bar. Thankfully there are other options just a few doors down.

Yelp
Happy Valley Arcade Bar has become one of my favorite places to take my family out on a weekend where we just need to enjoy ourselves. I came here a few times and recently for my birthday last weekend; it's a really nice spot if you want to just get some drinks and take your nostalgia back in time with the retro arcade games. The staff were really attentive even though sometimes when it gets packed you do need to remind them of your drink or food item to arrive to your table. Overall, I recommend this hidden gem that's in Beacon for a fun night or family time. The photobooth there is one of my favorites as I'm a sucker for pictures. The seasonal drinks are also festive and I recommend you to try at least one. :)

Yelp
Did a Yelp event here during the Food Crawl. What a fun time! All I ordered was fries and a drink but my drink was purple and my fries were delicious! Play an arcade game while having a cocktail and food, so fun! Place is small, not anything like a Dave and Busters, it's Beacon - everything is quaint!

Yelp
Arcade with a full bar and a courtyard. A dozen or so beers with a variety of macros and crafts. I had a Helles Lager. Pricing was reasonable at $8 for the craft beer and service was quick. Loved the selection of arcade games.

Yelp
I would also like to mention that to miss the tater tots while enjoying a few beverages is a BIG Mistake!! Cocktails are always well made, but these little tasty gems just put the whole experience over the top!

Yelp
Really fun, chill vibe. Reminds me of circa 2010 Williamsburg. Love the diy aesthetic and community feel. Great place to just hang and play some games. If drinking, def go for beer or wine, and the mixed drinks were only ok, but otherwise a really cool place with a friendly staff.

Yelp
Happy Valley has to be one of the coolest/most unique bars I've gone to so far in the Hudson Valley area. Drinks are affordable, food is great, staff is friendly, attentive and fast paced, and the vibe is cool and trendy with neon lights and a ton of retro arcade games. I spend most of my time playing Mortal Kombat 2 and watching this couple play Pac-Man right on the same table they were eating off of. Live music is also available depending on the night. Planning on coming back with a big group of friends to do a video specifically for them.

Yelp
Nostalgia on tap! Speaking of which, this establishment does carry quite a nice little selection of beers. This place will definitely satiate your nostalgia especially if Stranger Things has aroused that reminiscence in you. They've got the *original Mortal Kombat, Contra, Crusin' USA arcade games at 25 cents a pop in true arcade fashion along with a full bar. There is outside seating and sometimes live music. It's such a cool place with quirky decor, like for example, the Salt n' Pepa vending machine (see my pictures). It's a fun outing with friends and kids in the beautiful city of Beacon.

Yelp
Way more children than I expected, considering it is a bar. It was too cold to sit outside, but the patio looks so cute and I plan to return and enjoy it. Lots of games to choose from and a change machine for quarters. The bar is cute. Bartenders are cool. Seasonal drink menu was fun. I got a hot toddy and it was soul warming. I think next time I go I would go later in the day, rather than early afternoon, so it's less kids and more of a bar scene.

Yelp
Happy Valley is such a fun place on Beacon's Main Street. I've actually been here a couple of times but only recently did I try the food and drink. There's not a huge variety of games but that's because of the limited size of the location. They had classics like PAC Man, the Simpson's game, and Fix-it Felix. They also had some games I had never played before that was lots of fun like Kung Fu Kickball. If you are into pinball there are three pinball machines with fun animatronics and features. I am not a drinker so I wouldn't think to get a drink but I saw they had a mocktail called the Shark Bite. I also ordered a small tater tots. There were a few other people there so they said it may take awhile. The food and drink ended up coming out in less than five minutes. The tater tots were crispy and delish. The drink was very sweet(the way I like it!) If you have quarters, bring those for the game. If not, there is a change machine for bills up to $10. There is also an atm if you don't have cash.
google avatar

Samantha M.

Yelp
Super cute spot to hangout and play some games. These games take quarters and if you need to change for your dollars, they have a machine in the building. There are drinks and food available! I just ate before I stopped by so I didn't get to try any out but would love to when back in the area. Tons of fun, would highly recommend!
google avatar

Clari B.

Yelp
Ok game selection, minimal beer selection, no ingredients on hand to make cocktails listed but don't let that get you down. Get a stiff spirit on the rocks, change your bills and get lost in the nostalgia (if they have something for you). Food stopped being served at 9pm (might be due to the holiday (4th July) or meek turn around of folk) so come with a bite to soak up your alcoholic beverage if you'll be around past that time. Overall since I love the music genre and I was in nostalgic mood and had good company the lack of games to play didn't bother too much. And the double on the rocks didn't hurt:p Overall barcade in Bk,NY is better but if you're around these parts this is a decent alternative.

Yelp
Went here during the beacon food crawl As the check in point was outside the joint Love the retro feel of this place They have arcade classic games you can play such as frogger and Pac-Man They have a good selection of draft beers And some Mixed drinks They have an inside where the games are and outside they have benches where you can sit to Eat and drink if you want to hang around Closes late for beacon area Have bar food that I didn't try But the place was crowded when we was there during the afternoon hours and was really crowded by the time we were done with our night Will Be back

Ben M.

Yelp
Ladies and gentlemen... they have Gauntlet This is really all you need but the lights and atmosphere are great good vibes all around love it thanks
google avatar

Eden H.

Yelp
Happy Valley is a great local barcade. I was so excited when it opened. It seems to always be rotating in and out different games so there's always something new to do! The drinks are fun and there's also plenty of space outside with heat lamps to just hang out!
google avatar

Yelp
What a fun place! And for all ages too! My husband is a retro video game fiend and this palace definitely hit the spot. We've been to a similar bar/arcade in Bennington, VT a few years ago that has since closed so we were happy to find this gem. The games are only $0.25. Nothing like Dave and Busters where you'll pay a few dollars per game. They have a limited bar type menu for food which we didn't try but it's there if you want it. We tried a couple different drafts, which seemed to be local to the area. I also tried the mixed drink with a shot of fireball in a pint of hard cider. I really enjoyed it and it reminded me of fall. Ohhh, add a cinnamon sugar rim and bam! There's also a night courtyard out front that we enjoyed a drink on because the weather was perfect. We're already planning our next trip back!
google avatar

Kimberly R.

Yelp
The place was packed on a Saturday night. There was a security guard checking ID's, I thought he'd also do crowd control but it seems not. There was little to no room to move around. It made the experience less enjoyable for sure. Nonetheless, the stars of the show were the games. There are so many options! I appreciated that there weren't any game hoggers. I never found myself waiting very long.

Yelp
Cheers to Happy Valley Arcade Bar, a newish addition to Main Street, Beacon and we're here for it! Note that while I personally never was into video arcades, being that I grew up in the Stranger Things era, I can't help but feel nostalgic here. Besides, even if you don't want to sit inside the very 80s interior that is jam packed with all the favorites (hello, Ms. Pac Man!), the front patio is deep and gives off killer beer garden vibes. And they have a sparkling wine (for Yours Truly) in addition to a great selection on tap (for my guy). And no, this isn't a food-focused place, but how are you gonna leave when there are arcade-style snack bar bites at your disposal (many vegan options). It's all junk food and that's all you ever wanted when you and your friends ensconced yourselves in the arcade in the 80s/90s, no? Oh come on, you know you were trying to get your name on the damn leaderboard and weren't leaving for dinner. I feel like this will be a regular stop for us, especially when we start going out with friends again. If my bougie ass can be happy here, there clearly is something for everyone.

Yelp
Super cute lots of game. Stop by Saturday night was crowded but we expected it. We did not have drinks nor did we eat.

Yelp
Came by on a Saturday afternoon to find this new arcade bar. Outdoor seating with heat lamps as well as a spacious interior. Arcades are down at the moment because of COVID but wasn't really a detriment. Got a seat inside and went to the central bar to order. Settled on the fries ($4) and chips/salsa ($4) for food, as well as a draft beer ($7). Fries are a bit soggy, could have used a bit more time in the fryer. Salsa/chips are your basic fare, but good value for the price. Beer list is great, with a few items from local breweries. Still working some links out, but really nice low-key spot. Hope to come back when it's at full force.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
Great beer, cocktails, games, and vibes! I love how spacious this spot is (compared to Barcade in Brooklyn/St. Marks). They had a lot of fun cocktails on the board along with local beer. Such chill vibes and lots of chairs/tables. They also have a selection of board games for you to play. You could really spend your whole night here.
google avatar

Shaoli G.

Yelp
Happy Valley is a good time. I was here with a friend for late-night catch up. I love the retro feel of this place. I didn't get a chance to play any of the games, but I will next time. By the time we got there, a lot of the food options were gone, but we got fries, which were meh and so was the cocktail we ordered, but I chalk it up to be being almost closing time. So the rating is mainly for the great vibe. I'll return and give it another shot.

Bobby L.

Yelp
Simply the worst. Weird vibes. Lazy bartenders and broken video games. Vinyl room is much better.
google avatar

Mitchell S.

Yelp
Super fun vibe. Brings back ALL THE MEMORIES. Played a few rounds of Frogger, Centipede, and Pac Man. My brother met me there and we had a great time. Great cocktail menu.
google avatar

Yelp
We swung by on a whim on a late Sunday afternoon. What a cool spot! Great set of taps, friendly staff, video games, a patio...all smack dab in the middle of Main Street. Sweet. We just did drinks, but I am sure this could be a place that gets PACKED on a nice spring or summer day. Not only is it right across the street from the doughnut place, but they actually have the doughnut place's doughnuts on the menu!!! Talk about convenient. :) I mean, if you needed any additional indication of how hip and hot Beacon is...the fact that we now have a slamming barcade of our own is all you need to know.
google avatar

Yelp
Happy Valley is awesome! We met up with a bunch of old friends and their kids there. The drinks/ food/ arcade was perfect for a crew with tweens.

Yelp
I actually considered stopping by Happy Valley during one of past trips up to Beacon, but I'd passed it up in favor of some of the local breweries. Luckily, this time I visited on a weekday and all those tempting local breweries were closed, so I went searching for another spot. Happy Valley it was! A really cute, quirky space, with reasonably priced drinks and solid bar snacks, they're definitely worth a visit. I got the Peekskill Simple Sour and jalapeño poppers, then followed that up with a He's On Fire (I think that was the name of it?), which is a Hudson North Cider (can't go wrong there) with a shot of fireball. Also, chips and salsa. All in all, I spent $29 before tip, which when you're adding food in, is definitely a fair price. They've got a decent selection of beer options (I'd suggest getting a fruited sour on the board, personally), from milk stouts to IPAs to ciders. Plus house cocktails and even sake!
google avatar

Taxi G.

Yelp
Because it's the only arcade They have pinball They have frogger It's not over priced They have enough games to keep you occupied for a little while They have beverages and snacks. The staff are friendly. Play games then go to BJs for lunch or dinner

Yelp
The absolute best place to be at to chill and play some games. Went on a Sunday and the vibe was sooooo cool. Fell in love with it

Yelp
Happy Valley arcade bar is worth a visit. Drinks are tasty and there's plenty vintage arcade games! Friendly environment and a perfect vibes.

Yelp
This place was a fine time to come with a friend or a group. They have old school arcade games and good cocktails. The staff were nice and it was a cool place for sure Would go again

Yelp
Happy Valley is an actual gem in Beacon & a must visit for any arcade lovers. Nostalgia is the vibe at this retro mom & pop establishment, with hand-painted artwork on the walls and a fun Nintendo-inspired cocktail list. They also offer solid snacks - highlights include the veggie chicken nuggets (even for a vegetarian - they are amazing) + the jumbo soft pretzel . Did I mention that there's an entire courtyard with plenty of outdoor seating out front? Makes meeting new people a bit less stressful given the pandemic is still a concern for many. We bring our pup sometimes & she's been a great way to socialize with others. Pro Tip: Bring a stack of singles so you can convert them to quarters! They have THE SIMPSONS game and it usually takes us around $10-$15 to get to the end, assuming you have at least 2-3 players.
google avatar

Mark T.

Yelp
Fun, great vibe, great drinks, friendly staff, spacious too. Would recommend spending a night out here
google avatar

Liz E.

Yelp
Happy Valley is my family's happy place. Sitting in their lovely outdoor courtyard was one of our bright spots during the long dark lonely pandemic winter - and now that the weather is nice it's even better. The staff is so friendly, they have great draft beers (the Peekskill simple sour is my go to) and they are super family friendly. Our toddler loves hanging out here and watching people walk by in Main Street or petting the dogs who are welcome outside. We all love the soft pretzel, the curly fries, and the nuggets (vegan for me, chicken for the rest of them). The pizza is nice too! I can't imagine Beacon without this spot and am just so happy it's here.

Rachel B.

Yelp
Great place, nice selection of games & an extremely friendly staff behind the bar both times I've gone! The atmosphere has a great vibe & the outdoor space is great if you want to sit, talk & have a drink! Definitely worth checking out!

Sonya X.

Yelp
Stopped by for a drink and also got the margarita pizza. Both were delicious - the environment and vibes were amazing.
