Nature and Parks in Boston

"The Harborwalk is a largely coastal trail running 43 miles along Boston’s waterfront from East Boston to the Neponset River. It was created to enable residents and visitors to enjoy the city’s waterfront, despite ongoing development. Though bikers are allowed along select portions, the Harborwalk is mainly for pedestrians, passing through maritime and industrial areas, parks, and by cafes, piers, beaches, and various types of public art." - MATADOR_NETWORK

Google
Fun fun fun place! Lots of fun shops, eateries and boat cruises! Killer sunsets!! We got henna tattoos, took a sunset cruise, got funnel cakes, ate by the water! Super fun! Wanted to try the zip line but we were scared!! Margaritaville a tad touristy, but works really well here!!

Google
Very beautiful with lots to do and see. There are a ton of shops, restaurants and attractions. The staff at the shops are all very sweet. We even got a coupon for one of the shops. You definitely want to book boats trips and attractions in advance because they will fill up fast. The only downside is that the parking is crazy expensive. It's $20 to park. They do give you a pass to come back same day if you want but $20 is still too expensive and we didn't even get a close parking spot. It fills up fast. Not sure if there was any free parking around so be sure to look into that before your trip.

Google
Harbor Walk Village was a wonderful experience . My family and I enjoyed our day there . It was full of adventures like ziplining , rock wall climbing . We also set sail on our para sailing and sunset dolphin cruise with Boogies . There is a huge variety of shops and restaurants to satisfy even the most finicky appetite . I have to say the parking is crazy . We had a hard time finding a place to park in the afternoon . You can come and go through out the day with a parking pass. The cost is 20.00 .

Google
This is definitely a must do while in Destin! They have all kinds of restaurants, treats, attractions and views. There's stuff for kids and adults, between zip lines and bars. They do charge $20 for parking, just so you're prepared.

Google
There was plenty of shopping and plenty of great eats and drinks. The dolphin tour was relaxing and very informative. We will definitely be back for more.

Google
Its a great place to visit if you’re in Destin. Very crowded but cool. There’s a lot to do including a zip line and boat tours of many types.

Google
I recomend going on Thursday when they have their fireworks we made a reservation on Margaritaville and even tho we didn’t get a table next to the window when it was time for the fireworks everyone gets up and go to the window to look at the fireworks 🎆 they look beautiful! The place is nice to take a walk around and there’s a lot of food trucks to buy food, drinks and desserts and boats to take a ride.

RunaCat Review

Google
I came at night, and there were plenty of restaurants open. I recommend that if you want to take a boat, you come early or make a reservation. They have live music and some activities to enjoy while you walk. It was nice to walk around and visit the small shops.

Yelp
Has several things to do. Many shops and some kid activities. Nice to walk around for something to do.

Yelp
My husband and I were driving through the Destin area, and decided to take a break from heavy traffic. (Weekday, lunch time, early April, 2025). Google identified the HarvestWalk Village as a fun place to walk around. Unfortunately, everything about the whole experience felt like an attempt to separate tourists from their hard-earned money. As soon as you exit Route 98, you unexpectedly enter a parking lot for HarborWalk Village that charges $20 matter how long you stay. This was pricey for our 90 minute stay. We ate at a seafood restaurant that, in addition to automatically adding a 20% gratuity for our party of two, added a 2.58% HarborWalk Village fee (what is that?) and, of course, taxes. (The waitress did tell us about the 20% gratuity before ordering, and also added that she would only get 15% of this mandatory gratuity but would get 100% of any additional we chose to tip). Without the money grab, this could be a fun albeit smallish area to visit. There are a few restaurants and similarly-priced food trucks, ice cream stands, bars, clothing and shoe stores, opportunities to take boat charters, a zip line, a rock-climbing wall, and more. That said, we would not return nor recommend the experience to those visiting the Destin area.

Yelp
Don't pay for your 8 year old to ride the zip line at Destin Harbor Boardwalk, unless you know that he will do it. We paid $47.00 for our son to ride the zip line along with their rock climbing wall. When he got on the platform, he saw that it was too high. He also saw people getting STUCK about halfway into the ride. When We asked for a refund, because he didn't ride, they gave us the owners email. The owner said "NO REFUND'S". We watched the cars lined up when leaving. paying $20.00 per car for parking. They must think this is Disney World !! They should put some of that money back into the zip line equipment. Poor management ! They must have new owners. because things have changed , from the many times that we have been there, over the years. Fort Walton has a Boardwalk about 5 miles down the road, with restaurants, gift shops an aquarium and a huge pier. FREE Parking ! Across the street from from Destin Harbor Boardwalk we rented Sea-Doo's at a place called Wet and Wild. Free parking ! Have fun on your vacation !!!!

Yelp
Nice place for a sun filled walk here in Destin. Walk by the harbor, food truck, Margaritaville restaurant and bar. Several of the bars have walk up windows or order you drinks. It's nice to look at the huge Yacht sales that's located. right on the water, yachts are in the water too. The main walk ends at the Destin Yacht Club for member access only. The food trucks seem to be closed during the day as well as many other kiosks too.

Yelp
Small walk, lined with restaurants, food stands, and gift shops. The whole thing can be walked in around 15 minutes. The $20 parking isn't quite worth it, unless you have a place in mind you're visiting along the walk. To make the most of the HarborWalk, you have to spend an arm & a leg. The highest prices I have yet to see are here. The food stands charge just as much as the restaurants. Personally, I'd rather enjoy the sunset on the beach. But I understand that it's a main attraction for tourists. You're not missing much if you do skip!

Kurt K.

Yelp
Won't be going back, $20 to park on top of getting food. Going to Baytown. Good for them getting people to pay.

G Y.

Yelp
$20 to park makes this a 2* place. Nice place to walk the boardwalk, shop and have a beer but all overpriced and the parking puts it over the top. Go to SanDestin instead. Free parking. Plenty of dining and retail choices. And, you don't feel robbed when you leave

Yelp
What can I say about HarborWalk village. My family spent 7 days in the area and had Ana amazing time going to all the shops, restaurants, walking the path and just enjoying the time. If you're ever in Destin, make it a point to visit the HarborWalk. Family activities for all ages from zip lining, to boat rides and everything in between.
google avatar

Yelp
If you are a tourist in Destin, this is the main attraction outside of the beach. The Village has restaurants, shopping, entertainment for adults and kids and many of the excursions leave from here (boat rides, tours, etc). We were in Destin for a week and came multiple nights. We loved the restaurants, the convenience of being able to go place to place to place and just hang out. We ate at multiple places and shopped everywhere. Highlights: - great views of the harbor, especially when dining - live music at multiple locations - lots of variety for the entire family in one place - free attractions to draw you there, we saw an air show and fireworks show one night Lowlights: - pay to park or take the water taxi, both are pricey - drinks and food are EXPENSIVE here, you are in a tourist trap - crowds, there's ALWAYS a crowd - the smell... depending on the day it can be pretty bad due to fishing boats cleaning fish right on dock It's definitely worth checking out. My daughter got her hair wrapped at one of the vendors for $35 and it lasted for an entire month. We thought that was pretty cool.

Yelp
We visited HarborWalk multiple times over the years ago & enjoyed it but I don't recall ever paying $20 for parking during previous trips. After reviewing the restaurant and shopping list, I decided to pass this time around & spend that "parking fee" on something more worthwhile - like a dozen raw oysters! :)

Yelp
Amazing vacation experience. Recreational activities including zipling, rock climbing, boat rides, parasailing, and jetskiing available. Restaurants and bars including Margaritaville and Coyote Ugly available. Shopping stores, amazing scenery, and much more.

Yelp
Harbor Walk Village is a cool place in Destin met my family and I visited. We went to a lot of different places and shows and we saw a pirate boat and I'll kinds of good things while we were at the harbor walk. It is $10 to pay to park there which I didn't like but that's OK it is what it is but overall fun place with a lot of cool adventures

Yelp
Amazing vacation staying at the Emerald Grande at Harborwalk. Free parking, open public restrooms, incredible views of the marina and Crab Island, and amazing shops and restaurants. Extremely convenient! Plenty of restaurants to choose from as you walk along the harbor. Beautiful sunsets and views.

Yelp
This is the place to come to in Destin. They have everything for kids and Adults alike. There are restaurants, entertainment for kids, sales stands, places to shop you name it. My friend I came here about every night/day that we were in Destin. We went to Jesters Pizza and Daiquiris, loved the daiquiris hated the pizza. Jimmy Buffets Margaritaville, loved it. Went into some of the shops, I happened to like the one for fishing for some reason. There is also scuba diving, boat rides, party boats you name it. We went on a boat ride to Crab Island our last day there. We both absolutely love the Boardwalk and it is a great place to get exercise. We will definitely be back next trip. Anyone who hasn't been to Destin, you need to come to the Boardwalk, they have so much to do and I'm not gonna spoil it all. There is parking at the nearby hotel but it's $10 even on weekends. Definitely loved it there and didn't want to leave.

Yelp
This was a nice area to visit when we were hanging out in Gulfport, Mississippi. We took our son here, who is one years old, and he had a blast running around and looking at things. Things. The area is clean and there is a part that is set up for kids with multiple play areas and benches for parents. The area is wide and flat with high visibility so it's easy to keep track of your kids as long as your head isn't buried in your phone. Also, if I recall correctly, The pavement is covered with a soft material similar to rubber that makes it comfortable to walk and crawl on. It may even prevent injuries to an extent. On the other side of the HarborWalk is the marina area. We were able to show our son lots of cool boats as well as walk today to the beach. If you want a thrill, depending on what time of year it is, Go up to the third floor where the security office is located. There were hundreds of whatever those local bugs are that look like overgrown stink bugs. I made it a personal challenge to walk out of the elevator and down the stairs on the outside just to get the good video but the bugs don't attack or bite. They just look and sound menacing. If you're looking for something to do or to just hang out and chill, this is a decent place to spend some time.

Yelp
Cute tourist area in Destin with shops, hotels, restaurants, bars, food trucks, and children's games. Lots of dolphin cruises and fishing charters also leave from this area. Bonus- you are allowed to walk around here with an open container. Disappointment- it smells pretty bad here and fishermen hang & gut their fish right at the shore.
google avatar

Tricia G.

Yelp
It's a tourist attraction obviously but we had a great time. Plenty of shopping and food. We enjoyed the outdoor screen for college football on a Saturday. Perfect place to see the yachts, ride a jet ski, go on a boat tour, or just hang out and have a great time with friends and a great place to make friends as well! Shout out to Kenny, Melissa, and John, our new friends we made while having a great time!

Judy H.

Yelp
BEWARE!!! I am visiting Destin with friends and we thought checking out Harborwalk Village would be fun. We enjoyed the shops and sights but as we were leaving we were charged $20.00 for parking. This was on a Thursday morning with no special events happening. We were there for less than 1 1/2 hours. There were no signs when entering the parking lot that said there was a fee. I spoke with the guest services manager at the Emerald Grande to question if this was their policy. I was told that there were supposed to be signs when entering the parking lot but they may have blown down. No tickets are given upon entering the lot because everyone is charged $20.00 no matter how long you stay. This is a total scam. Emerald Grande is taking advantage of unsuspecting tourists!

Jennifer D.

Yelp
Dirty. Cockroaches. Parking is $20! The shops are lame and food is mediocre at best. Total tourist trap. Don't bother.

Yelp
Great restaurants and great shops! I enjoyed walking on the broad walk and shopping with my family. I got great souvenirs to bring back home! The restaurant I enjoyed eating at was The Rhumcay. It was all the way in the end of the boardwalk by the Life is Good shop. They have the cutest sitting dinning area outside and the food was delicious. The seating area outside are swings and fits a family of 6. I would say that the boardwalk is not COVID friendly. Alot of the people working at the shops are not wearing masks as well as the people that we were passing by. The boardwalk itself is short and has limited amount of stores but still great to check out!

Yelp
I've been to Destin's Harborwalk Village many many times and I still enjoy going spend the day here. There is a variety of restaurants, beach shops, clothing stores, concessions, and water activities. There is also the Harborwalk Marina here with tons of boats for daily excursions. The Destin Sea Blaster party speed boat dolphin tour is so much fun! Omg, it's probably the funniest boat tour and the best dolphin tour I've been on. At the Harborwalk there is zip lining ( I seen someone get stuck!), escape room, henna and face painting, boardwalk games, 7D virtual interactive experience, timeshare pitches (Margaritaville), live music on the stage, occasional street performers and so much more! They have several seafood restaurants here (pricy!), street food/ food trucks( when are they operational?), caricature drawings, tye dye shirts (why not?) There is also a candy shop, coffee shop, cotton candy stand and more. At all of the restaurants you can have beachside dining! (That's worth the money right?!) There is also plenty of souvenir shops, jewelry shops and beach themed clothes. At the Harborwalk Village you can rent jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, or ride pontoons, glass bottom boats, speed boats, party boats, catamarans and more! Destin's Harborwalk village is a great spot for lots of activities and options for things to do. Until next time!

Yelp
Cute harbor and great place to walk around and do some shopping. None of the staff knows where to bring strollers though. We didn't know there were ramps in the middle and when we asked the staff, they told us to use the stairs. So we used the stairs! And it was very laborsome. After walking around, then did we realize there were ramps. Parking across the street is also half off. This place seems very lively at night and there's also some carnival games.
google avatar

Mimi M.

Yelp
Look it's a fun little place to walk around and see the harbor, but if you are already going to be patronizing the businesses, do you really need to pay $10 to park for 45 minutes on top of that? The best thing to be found here was the Dole cart where you can get like soft serve sorbet!
google avatar

Lita L.

Yelp
It was a nice stroll through Harborwalk, having been here several times over the years. I'm glad there was no $10 parking fee as so many mentioned in their reviews, as I wouldn't have come, but a local told us it is suspended and only effective during the summer when school is out. It's mostly restaurants and bars, with a smattering of retail stores, along with the marina, and since we weren't here during mealtime, it was a fairly short visit. We walked along the marina boardwalk and down the main street, and moved on to our next destination.
google avatar

Jeannine M.

Yelp
It hard not to feel for the vendors in this very empty space but they were friendly and helpful nevertheless. The gift shop had some cute things for the holidays. We ate at the Grille for which I'll write a separate review. Overall a lovely afternoon here albeit quiet.
google avatar

Lisa R.

Yelp
This was definitely hyped as a must-do for Destin, but...it was a glorified outdoor mall that forced you to pay $10 just to park and look around. We were pretty underwhelmed. My kids did love having their picture taken with parrots, but aside from that it just felt like an overpriced tourist trap.
google avatar

David N.

Yelp
This is Destin's default Tourist Trap. Filled with a bunch of chains, cover bands, expensive food and drinks. It wasn't bad since we were basically in the beach house the whole time so it was nice to walk about but we already knew what to expect. It was like Houston's Kemah Boardwalk, or San Francisco's Fisherman's Wharf. You can find over priced seafood here. The only things worth trying were Pat O Brians and Jester which are both stolen from New Orleans.
google avatar

Krista R.

Yelp
Issa Tourist Trap. But. Going on vacation to a new place you can't deny you won't visit their tourist trap. Anyway. So.. you can catch a boat ride here to dive, dolphin watch, deep sea fishing, and more. There's a few restaurants like Jimmy Buffet's margaritaville. Then you have shops and little attractions like zip lining. There's adult snow cones and a wine truck. It's neat to walk through at least once.
google avatar

Tamika G.

Yelp
Great place for fun! Great for kids and adults alike. Lots of shops and restaurants as well as food trucks, rides, excitement and zip line. So much to do and see. I'd definitely recommend it
google avatar

Mabelle L.

Yelp
Always have a fun time here. Been here 2 times so far. Enjoy getting to walk around right after having dinner at AJ's which is a hard thing to get at other restaurants. Usually we just eat at a restaurant and there's nowhere to walk nearby so we have to drive to the next spot. So appreciate that there's something to do nearby the restaurant to walk off food we just ate. There's a lot of different activities here including a few food trucks. We got funnel cake and fried Oreos. Next time we're thinking to try the wine infused popsicle. There was a cheese for truck too. As far as activities, there was zip lining, running around on water in a hamster ball, getting air brush tattoos, getting blown up animal balloons, etc. There's also plenty of yachts nearby to just take a look (some are for sale - for $7 million!). Overall, it's a cute little village!
google avatar

Tiff H.

Yelp
Meh. The ultimate tourist trap. We were so full from dinner we needed somewhere to walk and take in the sights. The parking lot is huge, but full from sharing spots with multiple restaurants and the entire Village. There are a lot of restaurants, bars and shops in the HarborWalk Village. There was plenty to look at and observe, but not much to do. I guess we could have picked up some food or drink, but there weren't many appealing dessert options available. I wonder if we just came at a bad time - after dinner just didn't seem to be the hoppin' time to be wandering the area.
google avatar

Melissa T.

Yelp
When this place was being built I thought it was an awful idea! Why take the beautiful harbor and clutter it with all this junk. I will say I still don't like what it has done to the natural views of the harbor but I do like the venue. You will find many shops, restaurants/bars, and all the watersport businesses located here. The fishing fleets also run out of this location so you can enjoy watching the boats come in and the haul of fish they caught. Fun for the kids... There are also a lot of events held here from music concerts to fireworks shows. Something for the whole family. Personally there is not one store I would shop in here but there are a couple of bars I would drink in while enjoying awesome views and some of the restaurants are decent. I would never come here during peak season, but right now it is enjoyable. We had a great lunch at LaFamiglia on the Harbor, watched the fisherman fileting the fish they brought in and saw genuinely happy people enjoying our beautiful town. Definitely a tourist location, but also kinda cool for a local once in awhile.
google avatar

Danielle B.

Yelp
I've been to this place multiple times and usually always enjoy myself! It is VERY touristy, but I always opt to stay on the outskirts and walk along the docks where you can look out on the marina. It's usually well lit and peaceful. Try to go on a Tuesday when they have their weekly Fat Tuesday parade! It's a New Orleans themed parade with a stilt walker, band, and several floats with kids throwing beads at you. It's definitely aimed more at the younger crowd, but still a fun time. I would definitely avoid margaritaville, a tourist trap for sure. So overrated; their margaritas are actually pretty bleh. Other than that, just take a walk near the marina and you won't regret it! I know they offer several boat tours, but I'm too much of a cheap skate for that.

Janis J.

Yelp
Restaurants and shops. Walked around for about 45 minutes and left. Would have enjoyed it more when I was younger. Zip line and boat excursions available.
google avatar

Bailey N.

Yelp
Very hot so make sure to lather on sunscreen. Mostly there is shops & fishermen. However, the 7D movie is amazing and I highly recommend it! It is $12 per person for 4 minutes but it's so cool unlike anything I've done before. They offer other activities like a dolphin boat ride (which I don't recommend, it's $30 a person and there's no guarantee you will see Dolphins.), rock climbing, parasailing, ski boats, fishing... Mostly things you would do on water (duh). However all of these activities are expensive! And make sure to get there early - it gets crowded.
google avatar

Krystal E.

Yelp
First, I agree that this is a tourist trap. However, I LOVE to come here to watch fireworks and listen to the bands during "Rock the Dock" in the summer. Since I was a teenager, my parents drug my sister, brother, and I to HarborWalk long before it became what it is today. My dad loved to watch all of the boats come in and see the mates filet fish right on the docks. Nowadays, when he is visits, he usually goes on at least one deep sea fishing excursion and stays for hours after he returns to watch all the of boats come in. With the addition of the Village, I have come to like it more. They have added more children-related activities, like an over-priced zip line (that takes you NOWHERE) and this huge bubble they can get in and crawl around while being submerged in water. Me, personally? I just like the ambiance, the music, the smell of the sea--even if it is a bit fishy, and the nice people that visit here. Everyone is just out walking around and having a great time. The one thing I would change about the place is that they move the Coyote Ugly bar down a few blocks, especially given all the effort they have put into it being so "family friendly" with all of the added children's activities. I will definitely be back. I mean, it's like a family tradition for us to come every year :)
google avatar

Jasmin A.

Yelp
Tourist trap to say the least, if you ask many of the employees, there are cheaper options for many of the activities. BUT it's a nice area to walk around, go on a Dolphin cruise, eat overpriced food and do a little shopping. I enjoyed my time here but it is very overpriced, and HUGE disappointment, seeing the fisherman catching all this yummy fish yet the fish options at the restaurant are not those fish at all! I appreciated my time here.
google avatar

Hang L.

Yelp
I love coming here for a family vacation. We always get on the Sea Blaster for the sunset dolphin cruise because they're one of the best ones out there. The bar stand that is next to the free fall makes the best bloody mary! But the food in this area is not good at all besides the guy that comes out at night time to sell funnel cakes which is very limited on his batter. I gave this place 2 star because they have poor parking for vistors. We also attended their parade today and felt discrimination and smelt racism in the air. As the parade passed by and threw out beads for everyone besides the Asians even tho we were waving our hands and hollering just like everyone else. They look straight at you and yet looked down and then look the other way like their ass didn't see you and this happened continueously! My husband even lifted my 6 year old son up to try and get a bead but they "handed" it to the next person that was next to them. We came in a big family group and we did not get handed anything by the adults that were on the float because they rather pass out to other people with different skin color. I really enjoyed this place but I realized this place is not worth coming if these people are big headed like this.
google avatar

Yelp
Lots to see...lots to do. Food, fun, shopping. Boat charters, excursions (Dolphin Watches and Pirates Cruise. Just too many things to list...check out their website for details about all the things that are there for you to enjoy.

Ksawery D.

Yelp
Fun place to walk around and enjoy the view, great food and lots of attractions in all seasons, they have fun things to do in the winter and a good New Years celebration. A must visit if you are planning a trip to Destin, make sure to take a ride on one of the boat tours as well.
google avatar

Kathrin E.

Yelp
We love Destin... and Harbor Walk Village has everything you could want.. restaurants.. entertainment... excursions... and STARBUCKS.. :)
google avatar

Abe M.

Yelp
Home of Margaritaville! So I of course tried one. I didn't like it. I kept getting brain freezes. Sad :(
google avatar

Karissa H.

Yelp
Definitely a tourist trap, but a few great finds within make it worth a visit. (1) Harry T's is filled with local legend, personality, and good food. Sit on the deck and watch passing fishing boats show off their catch on the way in. The friendly servers will ring the bell to welcome them back. The seafood salad was tasty! (2) Walk the boardwalk and see returning deep sea fishing boats unload their catch. (3) multiple dolphin cruises, we opted for the two story yellow boat with a 4 year old in tow. Great trip and friendly crew! The other seablaster boats looked (and sounded!) great if I were 23 instead of 33. (4) Hook's on the Harbor, a little bar and grilled shack on the boardwalk with great fried grouper! (5) Capt. Jack the Pirate roams the boardwalk making balloon parrots and giving plastic gold coins to kids.
google avatar

Dana L.

Yelp
Touristy but there's stuff to do like shopping, boat rides, food, etc. It's something to do especially for people that haven't been to the area before. Nice to see and hang out for awhile even if only once.
google avatar

Patty C.

Yelp
I really have to question what "genius" designed this place - there's NO parking. Plus, you have all of these free events and it creates a carnival crowd that won't spend money at the restaurants. I have no idea why anyone would choose to stay at the Emerald Grande - I wouldn't stay for free. They just keep building and expanding and there's one tiny lot. It makes no sense.
google avatar

Robert U.

Yelp
It's really nice. They have created a very nice boardwalk type experience here. I love being able to walk from place to place. I was here a year ago and upon my return, I can see that they have continued to invest in it, having added some stuff since I last visited.
google avatar

Yessi F.

Yelp
During our family vacation we came to Harborwalk two days in a row, they have so many different activities for both young children and adults, it has expanded a lot since just one year ago.. there is a lot of construction going on at the moment so I would just suggest to be careful and not miss your cruises due to the construction.

Debbie C.

Yelp
What a waste of $10! Parking $10 and hardly any good stores to shop, very lame! Don't waste your time or effort. It's too bad too cause it's a cute little area but missing great specialty shops

Kim D.

Yelp
Disappointing - went on a Tuesday for the parade & even though it had rained off & on & had quit, they cancelled the parade around 8pm; even a store clerk didn't understand why they cancelled it. Went back on Thursday for the fireworks, spent 1 hr 45 min in bumper to bumper traffic on the hwy & finding the parking garage closed & no parking in the shared restaurants parking. Finally found a spot down the end of the harbor & although the fireworks didn't last long at all, they had some unique ones. They don't have sufficient parking for the amount of visitors attending. A handful of shops, lots of street vendors but so crowded it's hard to stroll around. Fudgery & Margaritaville & AJ's were the best stops. Gave it 2 tries & wouldn't go back.
