Harbour City Motor Inn

We had a fantastic stay. The reception were super friendly, housekeeping also. The room was spacious and clean. Loved that there was kitchen facilities in the room and a microwave. I enjoyed a beautiful bath again the bathroom was spacious. Heard nothing from any neighbouring rooms and had free car parking. 2 minute walk from where we needed to be. Will definitely stay again.

The room was easy to access and the spa was a nice touch. However, cleanliness could be improved. We noticed small groups of ants in every room—including the bedroom, main room, and bathroom. There were also a few strands of unidentified hair on the beds, which was a bit off-putting.

Don't ever come to this place if you have kids. Especially an autistic child. Was about to check in, everything was going alright. Then she asked if my kids were noisey and I told her my child is autistic so sometimes she can be very loud. She told me that was unacceptable. As if I had to keep my child quiet all day while being in the room we paid for? Kids will be kids. Made me really mad!

We were so lucky when we found this place. Impeccably clean, great size room for 2 with 2 large suitcases and location was perfect for restaurants and bars within a very short walk down the street. Tui the manager was very helpful. We have no issue in highly recommending this motor inn.

We booked our room at the last minute and ended up liking it, and the location on Wharf Street, just a block up from Tauranga’s eat street. Our room was on the ground floor of the two level Motel, and was fairly clean. We did feel the necessity to wash glasses and dishes in the kitchenette before use. It seems previous visitors have been sloppy and inspections are being missed. We were delighted with the size of the room(s). One large bed in the main room, and a second bed room with two singles! The bathroom was also very large. The owner/host Tui is the real superstar of this location. Every question or request was seen too immediately, as well as being very kind and good to talk to. I noticed some nefarious behavior of non-residents parked in the lot after hours, and she showed me the almost completed installation of an electric gate that will stop entry. We stayed in November 2024, so the gate is likely activated by now. This is a very walkable location, and Tauranga is a pretty town to explore.

Myself and 5 other family members had 6 rooms booked for 5 nights and all ii can say is house keeping was appalling way below par beddiing was not changed in most of our rooms when a family member asked for her bedding to be changed she was told they change them every 4 days and that it was stated in there policy and most of our rooms did not get changed once the floors we're not vaccumed, replacement of items that should have been restocked we're not besides that we loved the location.

Big, clean room. Comfortable bed and great location right in the city centre.

I sent my family to stay and they were very happy. It's very clean, great location in the city center and cheap for all they offer
