3 Best Day Trips From Vancouver | Condé Nast Traveler

"Located less than a ten-minute walk from Main Street, the wood-shingled Harbour House feels like a cozy coastal home, inside and out. The hotel is decorated in a tastefully modern, unpretentious residential style—think, a modern take on coastal chic—and guests will feel perfectly at home borrowing a board game from the front desk or playing in front of the fire in the lounge. While the atmosphere is decidedly relaxed, it’s still an upscale hotel, and the real treat is the service. Don’t miss the free wine-and-cheese hour each evening." - Liz Humphreys

I can't say enough about our stay at Harbour House. From the moment we walked in until our departure, we felt welcomed and taken care of. Our room was large and comfortable, and the Scandinavian vibes were on point. The biggest surprise (after the thoughtful welcome bags at check-in) was the huge balcony with sectional and loungers... the perfect place to relax and take in the harbour view across the street. Pro tip: sit in the bright cafe area off the lobby and order breakfast from the restaurant. (The French toast was excellent.)

Nice place, very friendly and accommodating staff. I booked a harbour view room and ended up with a view of the back parking lot, and because I didn't remember until check out the next day there was no credit available which was disappointing. My fault for not remembering sooner, but with no harbour view it then felt a bit over priced, but it was clean and modern, lovely welcome at check in and staff that gave us a ride to town to catch our flight which was greatly appreciated. We enjoyed the breakfast at the on-site restaurant and had a good dinner at the pub across the street. I'd stay here again, but pay more attention to the room I booked.

Stayed at the Harbour House recently, staff were friendly. On arrival I received a nice gift bag The bed frame in the room I stayed in is a calve bruiser. I was in a two twin room and every time I got out of bed you would hit your calves on the bed frame. The room gave me a 70's dorm style vibe. I would strongly suggest taking a router with a bullnose bit to these frames or switching them out for a regular box spring. The snack shop in the lobby is expensive, $4.50 for a bland small muffin, the chocolate was seriously lacking flavor and the blueberry wasn't blueberry. The person put a bran muffing in the container. You could by sight definitely tell the difference between the two types. There was complimentary fruit and flavored water in the lobby. I didn't get a chance to check out the gym. No elevator to the upper floor but you can arrange for assistance with bags with the staff if needed. Lots of parking.

Great hotel in a great spot! Roger at the front desk was ever so helpful and made our check-in and out seamless! No elevator which wasn’t an issue for us, but stairs to climb if you have heavy luggage. Nice and quiet, clean and very easy to get to.

We had an amazing stay at the Harbour House Hotel on Salt Spring Island for my wife’s 50th birthday. We spent two nights in a beautiful, clean, and comfortable room, but what truly made our experience special was the incredible staff. They went above and beyond, even surprising my wife with thoughtful little presents that made her celebration even more memorable. Dinner at the hotel restaurant was fantastic, with delicious food and great service. The entire weekend was spectacular, thanks to the wonderful hospitality. Highly recommended!

It was our first time staying at this hotel and it was beyond our expectations. The manager welcomed us with smile and kindness and the reception gave us a very clean room. Other staff were also very polite and helpful. I loved their delicious food in restaurant and high quality and tasty tea in the lobby and in the room. The variety of drinks in restaurant completed their offerings. I loved the balcony of rooms with great view of Harbour as well as their location, very close to downtown, and highly recommend this hotel.
