Harbour House Hotel

First time staying here but will defo be bak. It was a lovely night away. We had room 8 which had the most amazing sea view and comfy seats to sit and look out. Couldve sat and looked out all day. Room was large and clean. Breakfast was good and all the staff we met were lovely. Will be bak for a visit soon

Walked past and the dog stopped to drink from the numerous water bowls placed about so whilst it was drinking we looked at the menu and it looked good so we decided to stop here for lunch. Staff were friendly and we were served pretty quick.both had burger, hubby cheese burger and myself the halloumi burger. Both came with a fresh bun, lettuce and tomato. The food was really fresh and tasty. Would come again if in the area.

We have had dinner in this restaurant in the past and the food was lovely. ||Last evening we were seated on a very sticky table in the bar rather than in the pretty restaurant overlooking the harbour despite there only being one occupied table in the restaurant. ||The food was nowhere near as good as on previous occasions. ||The starter for my partner had obviously been microwaved.||The chips had probably been made at lunchtime and heated up a little but were soft and floppy! Yuk! ||It might have just been a bad day but we won’t be going back again any time soon!

After a couple of visits for drinks we thought we’d give the food a try. It was superb!|I ordered Balmoral chicken & my husband ordered the Sea bass from the specials board. Boy were we impressed! They looked good, tasted superb & decent portion sizes too. Plus the prices were cheaper than we expected. |Wish we’d eaten here at the beginning of our holiday…then we could have returned before the end of the week.|The team here are so friendly & helpful, its definitely on our list for our next holiday in Portpatrick.

Beautiful clean room for four, with window seats to enjoy the views across the harbour. Enjoyed the complimentary refreshments and the hot powerful shower. We had breakfast both days as it was such a bargain - delicious full Scottish breakfast with choice of cereals, croissants, fruit and yoghurts too, plus juice, tea and coffee. Friendly and welcoming staff, would definitely stay here again.

This is the first stop on our 50th Wedding Anniversary tour of Scotland and Although we are only here for one night 12 May 2025 we couldn't have picked a better hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful, bedroom was great and a good menu to choose from would thoroughly recommend anybody to try this hotel. Also very dog friendly.

Had a great lunch here sitting outside enjoying the weather. The food was delicious. Possibly the best chips I have ever tasted. Highly recommend.

Stayed weekend of 17th January. We were left a key at front door with a note stating room number and continental breakfast will be delivered to room in mornings. Bar and restaurant in darkness so no chance of a well needed beverage on arrival. Large airy room but double bed mattress very uncomfortable and part felt like it had lost all its spring creating a large dip in the middle. Could not see out of window as it was clouded with dirt or possibly blown panel? Shower great. Towels good quality and room clean. Breakfast did not arrive on either morning and no one around to ask. Spent the Friday evening in the crown next door, lovely warm welcome. We went back there Saturday for food and drinks which were both fab and the singer was wonderful. Our stay would have been made better with a warm welcome, an explanation of breakfast and maybe a drink. Beautiful location.
