Harbourside Fish and Chips

We had a take away large fish and chips amd curry sauce and it was a very small portion as normal its bigger and it was soggy and full off greese and actually horrible £15.60 fir that definitely do not recommend ill be sticking to my area for fish snd chips in future

Awful! Asked before I left have you put the sauces in the bag curry sauce etc to which she replied yes I’ve done it, 30 minutes drive away and nope not in the bag also burger was like a leather boot horrid. Would only offer a refund on the sauces which is very annoying as obviously the whole meal isn’t the same without the sauce would never go back not even an apology from the girl on the phone about missing stuff out.

Great fish and chip restaurant, cod's good, generous portions. For vegetarians the halloumi is awesome too. Will come again. If you order cheesy chips be prepared for the oversized gravy boat of cheese!!

We popped in today whilst out on the Barbican enjoying some sunshine. Everything was fantastic, the food, the service, and also the food arrived very quickly, it was piping hot and tasted fantastic. We’ve been visiting the Harbourside for many years and I don’t think we can name a single time that we were disappointed with the food and service.

Delicious full size portion of fish and chips. Have been here a few times to eat. Sat upstairs in the restaurant. Great food and nice service.

Initially looked upon this place and seemed decent. Mind you I had worked here previously and I know the cook. Unfortunately my review is two stars and this is because the service, food and price were all overhyped. The cod was chewy no red sauce on table and chips were the only good thing. I arrive to a fairly mediocre service looking at a menu that clearly states large cod and chips is just over 9 quid which is reasonable for a chippy. The problem was when I came to pay I discovered the price had bumped up by nearly 5 quid much to my surprise this of course included a can of coke. With no explanation. I sadly won't be returning.

Could not fault this chippy! Lilly our server was very friendly, the quality of the fish and chips was high and very tasty! Would definitely visit again when in Plymouth!

I chose Harbourside Fish and Chips for a takeaway meal while on a brief visit to Plymouth. It advertises the fact that it was voted 3rd best fish and chip shop in 2018 but nothing more recent. The counter area was bright, welcoming, clean and tidy. I did not visit the upstairs dine in area. There was a range of food options including chips, fish, sausages, chicken strips, burgers and kid's meal. The staff were friendly and helpful and our food was cooked to order so it was fresh and hot. The food was very tasty and simply delicious. The only issue I had was the cost. We ordered 1 fish, 2 chips, 2 sausages, 2 fruit shoot bottles and some chicken strips and it cost more than £30. Apparently dining in costs a bit more. Nevertheless I would recommend this restaurant.

I was fortunate enough to visit Plymouth and discover this amazing restaurant. The best fish & chips I have ever tasted. I chose this place because it had the longest line of people waiting to get in. I usually consider that a very good sign. There are choices of types of fish, I chose haddock. It was highest quality with the perfect balance of flavor and crispy texture.

The best I've had in years! Perfectly prepared and very, very tasty. Well situated on the Barbican. Great pubs nearby too!
