Hard Rock Hotel Penang

I had an awesome stay at Hard Rock Penang. All the service staff from the receptionist, to the concierge , to the restaurant staff were extremely service oriented :) The hotel is located next to the beach and their breakfast spread was just scrumptious. GM Michael Smeetan is doing a great job managing the team. I had some questions regarding the hotel and emailed him and his reply through his assistant Moon was immediate. No wonder the hotel is so well run. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone going to Penang for a refreshing break:)

Great place to stay, we had a lot of fun. We booked this as our rest time on our trip and it was a great place to recuperate. We stayed for 3 nights and it was lovely. Rooms were spacious and the pool area was great with such good music. So fun you can hear the music underwater too! The pool itself was great, nice and warm. Right next to the lovely beach. Sadly it’s too risky to swim in the sea due to jellyfish but we were happy with our pool. We didn’t really eat at the hotel much as we were keen on more of the local places and there were plenty of these around a short 10-15 min walk away. Very friendly staff, we got chatting for ages to one of the lifeguards who was so sweet and gave us recommendations. We’d happily stay here again.

It’s a 3 star hotel not 5. Of course the name Hard Rock helps them categoring it higher star, otherwise rooms and building is very basic. Hardly any place to stand in the bathroom. The doors don’t close properly. The curtains couldn’t cover the window. The carpet was very old. Only good thing was swimming pool for very young kids, they loved it. But for adults, poor swimming pool. I’ll not stay here again.

Excellent hotel for families. Starting from the check in till the last day had an awesome time! Beautiful rooms, great service and many activities. The pool area was awesome had a great time. Great place for kids too. Kids can rent (free of cost) guitars during their stay which was definitely worth for someone who plays guitar. Evening musical sessions at the hotel as well as at the hard rock cafe were awesome. Breakfast spread was huge with a lot of variety. Excellent staff all around! The Rock spa was another great option in the hotel. Definitely staying again.

I stayed in one of the suite rooms at Hard Rock Hotel Penang, and the experience was exceptional from start to finish. The suite was incredibly spacious, beautifully designed, and had that signature Hard Rock style—modern, stylish, and full of personality. The bed was extremely comfortable, and I loved the attention to detail in the room setup. The seating area, large bathroom, and extra space truly made the stay feel luxurious. The balcony/view (depending on your actual view: pool/sea) added the perfect touch of relaxation. Housekeeping did a fantastic job keeping everything spotless every day. Small touches like the amenities, plush towels, and the overall room layout made it feel like a perfect retreat. The hotel facilities were excellent as always—the massive pool, the lively music, and the fun atmosphere really set Hard Rock apart from other hotels. The staff were consistently friendly, attentive, and always ready to help. In-room dining and breakfast had a good variety, and everything was served fresh. Overall, staying in the suite made my trip feel extra special. The comfort, space, service, and vibes of Hard Rock Hotel Penang made this one of my most memorable stays. I would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend the suite for anyone looking for a more premium and relaxing experience.

Good family hotel for kids. Great size room. Services are good and efficient. Good breakfast for everyone with different needs. We have some great time staying there on weekdays which is not that busy. Hope the television set is a smart TV so that we have more choices of programs for foreigners.

Great hotel for families. The staff were excellent, we arrived early and were prepared to sit and wait at the bar for our room at check in time. The front counter agent went out of their way to look around and found an open room right away, it really set our trip on the right foot. Kids play area was great for our nephews with enough seating I could still relax and read. The rock n roll theme was tastefully present and made each morning a delight. We especially liked the elevator music!

Loved our stay here! 200 metre walk from the beach club and restaurants. Fabulous staff and rooms. The pool is set up for kids with slides ect. Mocktails were delightful. Food round the pool got a bit boring and it’s pricey. Rooms and beds were super comfy. Tv has lots of excellent channels in the room. Room service was great, you can order from the Hard Rock Cafe. The coffee was not so good as it’s not freshly brewed until after breakfast so you’re getting a machine coffee (if ordered with room service early doors). Breakfast had a lot of variety, it’s very busy but the staff did their best to clean away quick and tidy up. Overall it’s a pricey hotel but great for a 5 day break with the kids - we would come again!
