A charming accommodation option located in the Hardanger region of Norway with excellent service, but very small and somewhat uncomfortable rooms. It offers a cozy and welcoming atmosphere, making it a great choice for travelers exploring the area. The hostel provides a range of rooms, from private to shared, catering to different budget needs. Guests can enjoy a complimentary breakfast each morning, which is a simple mix of local and continental options available from 7 to 9am. The hostel features common areas for relaxing and socializing, including a lounge, shared kitchen, and a garden. It is conveniently situated for accessing nearby attractions such as the Hardangerfjord, hiking trails, and the famous Trolltunga. The staff is known for being friendly and helpful, providing useful tips and information about the local area. Overall, Hardanger Hostel B&B offers a semi-comfortable and affordable stay with beautiful surroundings and easy access to outdoor activities. Bring earplugs and eye covers as it gets noisy between other guests and sometimes early departures, and the rooms don’t shade from the sun very well and in the summer it can go well into the late hours.

Good location hostel and views but horrible experience with the service. We arrived at 20pm, asked if we could cook some pizzas in the oven and didn’t give us any restrictions. After 22:30, a girl from the place came in the kitchen while we were having dinner and told us we could not cook after 22:00, since this is a rule from the hostel. We didn’t know and it is not stated anywhere neither on their webpage or in booking.com nor in the kitchen anywhere. We spoke to his boss and when we asked him where this rule was stated he hung up on us. This is not a way to treat the clients and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

Simple but clean and comfortable. Friendly, helpful staff and perfectly located for some excellent hiking. The breakfast is included and is a good array of cold foods and boiled eggs. There is a restaurant within walking distance which is useful if you can't be bothered to cook after hiking. The views are spectacular, either of the fjord if your room is at the front or a waterfall and orchard if you're at the back. We changed our plans to stay here for longer. Would definitely recommend. Just as a guide to others, you will need a car.

Got a good deal in short notice to stay one night before hiking to Trolltunga. Nice tidy rooms. Quiet and peaceful. Shared toilets and kitchen. The best part of the hostel was the breakfast! |The hostel is located up in the hill. You get nice views to the fjord and mountains on the other side. There are fruit orchards in the area also.

The building in which we stayed is in dire need of a revamp. The plastic fitting for the light is aging that its starting to compete with the weird orange painted doors. Although I have no problem with making my own bed, I would expect it from a cheaper place, not one that is more expensive than a nice hotel in Oslo per night. |At more than a hotel next to Oslo Central Station per night , this accommodation is definitely not competing in the value for money category. |The was sigarette smoke coming though the air-conditioning. Reception found the root cause and resolved it. Thanks allot! |The curtains are not block out so those who are sensitive to light might want to either get a mask or look somewhere else. |The kitchen was well equipped. |The living area looks like something that survived every decade for the past century, the most modern item being the wifi password poster. |The grounds around the buildings were well groomed though the hot bath outside was out of order. |The breakfast was good and most people will find something to eat. For 50 NOK extra you can take up to 5 slices of bread with you for lunch (you can make use of the breakfast toppings for the bread). |A huge amount of effort and money is needed to make this place competitive with upmarket hotels in the same price range that offer more and better of pretty much everything. |Sorry but I can't recommend this place.

Love this place. Shared, but clean bathrooms, really good breakfasts, barbecue zone and sauna, free parking and the main advantage is incredible view! 35 minutes to the Trolltunga Carpark 2 by car

My family stayed 1 night with 2 twin rooms. PROS 1. Relatively low price but be careful you got what you paid. Friendly front desk staff. 2. Beautiful soundings. Several nice hike trails nearby. 3. Basic facilities.Room clean and quite. Hot shower function well with towels included. 4. Breakfast included from 7:30 to 9:30. Breakfast was OK, but I would not say great compared to other hotels that we stayed in Norway, no smoked salmon. Shared kitchen, we cooked one simple dinner for my family. 5. Free parking and Free WiFi but with issues. 6. Accepted Discover Card CONS 1.Thin curtains could not block sun. For summer visitors, this is a big negative point due to late late sunset. 2. Very Limited parking spots. We could not find one when I checked in. Several other people also had the same issue. They had to park very far from their rooms. 3. AC could not make any cool air. When I checked in in the afternoon, the room was very warm and we had to open the window 4. You have to set up your own bed 5. Slow WiFi

Lovely hostel with twin rooms that are quite large. Breakfast is fantastic. The hostel even has a sauna! If you don't drive, getting to trolltunga from here can be difficult, but you should try and get a lift from someone else in the hostel who is going. The reception staff are super friendly! Lovely location with some easy and pretty walks around the waterfalls surrounding. Most beautiful bit of the world!
