Harijyu Dotombori Grill Western Food

Considering that this is a classic looking establishment in Osaka, it was a nice surprise that it was non smoking. The food was delicious, the server was both friendly and professional, my husband and I both very much enjoyed our experience at Harijyu. I would’ve written a review earlier, but I couldn’t remember the name until now although we went there sometime last month during our honeymoon. My husband couldn’t decide between 2 dishes (pork cutlet set and grilled chicken set) that caught his eye, so we ordered both and shared.

Japanese Western style food offerings. Enjoyed their lunch set menu, in itself a complete meal. The Omurice and Hamburg we also ordered ala carte

My Japanese coworker recommended this place to me and it definitely didn't disappoint. I recommend you go at 11:15 and wait in line. It's very popular and wait times can vary depending on time of the year. The beef-katsu sandwich is out of this world.

The food is excellent. Before you take over, someone will show you what to do on the first round. This is our first time trying this type of eating style, and it was a new experience.

Shabu shabu was awesome. It’s an “old school” with a long history of tradition. Their sake was fantastic.

The food was awesome and the meat was so tasty and tender! The waiters are really nice and polite. I highly suggest eating here if you are looking for typical Japanese cuisine. Try the beef sandwich, it won't disappoint you!!

Traveler targeting restaurant. Highly suspicious pre cooked garnish vegetable & omurice . Not properly hot & super fast serving. Never recommend. Worst gourmet experience in this trip to Kansai.

This place was one of the most wonderful find in Japan! The restaurant is located on the right side right when you are about to enter the busy street of Dotonbori. When you walked in the whole vibe was really traditional. You have to take off your shoes and the number they give you is for you to pick up your shoes later. Me and my friend got the cheapest dinner combo A for sukiyaki - the portion was huge it was more than enough for the both of us. The beef slices are huge and when you dip them in egg yolk it perfectly balanced out the fatty taste of the beef. The waitress when cook a slice or two for you first as an example to show you how to cook it - basically you add the sauce, put beef in, add water. The food was amazing and the whole experience was great!! I'm still dreaming about their beef from time to time LOL

Restaurant that specializes in sukiyaki and shabu shabu. They seat you in a small private room with Japanese style tatami seating and a low table. There was no sunken floor for your legs, so if you have knee problems, this type of seating could be challenging. The minimum order is 2 to get either the sukiyaki or shabu shabu. Came here for lunch and tried the sukiyaki lunch course, of which came with hors d'oeuvre, sukiyaki, rice, and Japanese pickles. The slices of beef, vegetables, and tofu cooked in the sukiyaki sauce tasted great. For the sukiyaki, you can also dip the food in a raw egg, but I found that the egg took away too much of the taste of the food, so I preferred not to dip the food in egg. This was a pricey meal for the amount of food you get, but if you have never had traditional sukiyaki or shabu shabu before, it's worth a try. Keep in mind that dinner courses are about double the price of lunch courses.

A nice authentic traditional Japanese restaurant with many small rooms, sliding paper doors, straw mats, and tables you sit on the floor to eat at. Waitresses are also dressed traditionally. The high quality meats come from the butcher next door I understand. A nice experience for a tourist if willing to pay a little extra for the ambience and experience.
