"A great place to grab food and a drink. Its a killer take on a 40s roadhouse with a dose of eye candy. mid-day sundays are the best time to visit, as their drinks and their rare, high end spirits referred to as the “medicine cabinet” are all 40% off. their menu consists of original appetizers, and dishes like southern rice with sautéed shrimp and veggies, as well as savory sandwiches." - Contrabrand

5 ⭐️ Legendary spot of KC. Very friendly staff and over top hospitality. Ambiance is very antique and rich with vintage photos. Great menu, don’t sleep on the chips w/ French onion or the Sea Cow w/horseradish aioli. City Fried Steak with taters & gravy was a supreme choice! Easy Eddy on tap!! 🍺

We stopped in during a weekend in KC and are so glad we did! We will definitely be coming back. The vibe was great, the knowledge and selection of whiskeys was impressive. The bartender’s and manger’s hospitality made us feel right at home and very easy to chat with. We had the chicken and waffle, wings, and shrimp and everything was so tasty! Highly recommend and thank you for the great experience for our first time in KC. 🫶

Visited here twice in a recent KC trip and enjoyed both meals. Had a turkey club the first time, and a salad with soup the second time. The food was well prepared and came out fast. Service the first time was a little uneven but the second time it was top notch (worth noting that people at the table next to me weren’t happy with the Friday night service either). I sat inside on the first visit and outside on the second. The patio was comfortable even though the temperature was a little over 80 and I enjoyed the view of the city. I imagine it’s more fun on a spring or fall evening as well.

My girlfriend and I were recommended this spot. I’m from out of town and not very familiar with the KC food scene but at this place, the atmosphere was friendly, service was good, and the food was tasty. Fair prices and a fun place to come. It reminds me a lot of one of my favorite gastro style pubs back home. The Rueben was good but barely had sauerkraut and the bread was sort of dry crunchy. Good meat and cheese amount and thousand island was just enough. The Mac and cheese was delicious and not too saucy or spicy. Just enough portions for both of us. I had a beer and she had a prickly pear margarita and they both were good.

Haven't been here in ages but had some people in town and wanted to show them "classic Kansas City" and Harry's delivered. Apparently they have 400 types of whiskey (ask for the menu) and we ordered some sea hogs (thank us later) and some awesome cheese curds. Fish tacos are also excellent. Love the decor, service, and everything about this place.

We had my son’s rehearsal dinner for his wedding here last week. At first, I was apprehensive that it may not be the best place to have it. But after working with Abby, I knew that I was wrong. We had such a fantastic evening. The food was fabulous. The patio was perfect and everyone enjoyed the evening.

An American Classic. If you pick someone up from a long overseas flight, take them straight to Harry's Country Club. It's comfort food at its finest. A kitchen that REALLY cooks, and a bar that is second to none. This place is a favorite among restaurant people.

Google
Lived in KC for 20+ years - finally decided to give this place a try. The western country decor with an original jukebox add a retro element to the dining experience. Do yourself a favor: order the City Fried Chicken! It was incredible. Also ordered a cup of chili and the Chicken Pot Pie, which is a seasonal item during the cooler months 🥧 Lastly, they serve Dr Pepper & Pepsi products :)

Yelp
Sensational cocktails + a fab patio + great service = a fantastic spot. Harry's Country Club offers that chill spot with a stellar view of downtown KC from the north that screams 'happy hour'. Their cocktail menu will rotate somewhat frequently, maybe with the seasons. Whatever the order of the day is, just trust their designs and sample from their specials. Summertime has seen a Prickly Pear Jalapeño Margarita (a home run), a Bomb Pop Martini (complete with layered colors), and various (peach?) old-fashioned approaches. Any and all of these, depending on your preferences, pave the way for a relaxing time. The fare is generally pretty good but is bar & grille style options, which is to say that you'll have a good burg or sammich lineup, with some seasonal specials sprinkled in. They do make a surprisingly good Cuban, thinly sliced pork tenderloin with pickle and yellow mustard smushed and grilled. But their happy hour menu is the strong suit, with their cheese curds and anything that contains their house-made potato chips will have you gobbling all of the chips. Pro tip: get two or three shareable happy hour appetizers and skip the entrees. Toss in another cocktail and enjoy! Parking, if you have to, can be prickly. Do yourself a favor and make sure you've paid for your spot because the River Market parking patrol don't play and you'll receive the gift of a $90+ citation in the mail. Or so I've heard. The patio is a blend of somewhat covered and uncovered, but the spacing is nice and the view is spectacular. The service is almost always Midwest-nice and prompt, so tip generously. Harry's reps KC, and so should you.

Yelp
Every staff member we talked to was so nice! We had an ~20 min wait for a table on a Friday night around 7:30. The weather was too cold and rainy for the patio but it looked like it would have been lovely. Now to the food-- I think the wings and the buffalo sandwich were the stars of the show due to how thin and crispy the breading is! The ranch was perfect for dipping and the buffalo sauce wasn't too spicy but still had a small kick. City fried steak also yummy and it was a very large portion. Margaritas were a 7.5/10 but tbh I'm a harsh judge. Overall a bit on the pricey side but the waitress was very attentive, food and drinks came quickly, and everything was great!

Yelp
I'm just going to say, Harry's Country Club has, hands down, THE. Best. Gravy. EVER! And I've had a LOT of gravy. The country fried steak was seriously the best I've ever had. I had no idea! I've been to Harry's many times and this was the best meal I've ever had, anywhere, in a long time. The mashed potatoes were creamy and the green beans were amazing. Our waitress was busy but very attentive. Great for a Friday night at 7. While it was loud, it's to be expected. An encompassing drink menu and the best liquor selection around.

Yelp
Love Harry's whether I'm coming for a meal or a happy hour! They have a great cocktail/beer menu, great bar & grill menu items, decent happy hour deals and a great patio if you're able to get out there. They don't take reservations and you may have to park down the street as parking is minimal so plan accordingly. Great spot for a casual outing!

Yelp
Food and service was very good - awesome selection of bourbon. Easy walk from downtown.

Yelp
Always a great place to go. It's been in KC for a very long time, and always consistent. the end of the bar is my favorite and great people watching. You never know who you're going to sit next to and make new friends at the bar. The food is very good and one of KC's wonderful local places to visit. The service is always good, but it can get busy during weekends and evenings. Definitely worth checking out!
google avatar

Yelp
Definitely packed quick so get there early as they don't to reservations! Love the patio in all weather. Fantastic and cool staff, and great HH food and drink discounts! Highly recommend getting a pitcher with a girl friend, get a few bites to share, and hang out on the patio to gossip...such a fun time! Suggest: the sliders (comes with fries) chicken bites, and the cheese curds

Yelp
Harry is one classy guy! His club knows how to take bar food up a notch, and everything I've tried on the menu hasn't disappointed me (and sometimes I'm an easily disappointed gal). Harry's lives up to the hype. It's a Rivermarket staple and has one of the most notable patios in Kansas City. The service is always professional. Last time around, the bartender made me a delicious version of a French 75 with a little flair of raspberry Chambord. It was a fantastically balanced cocktail. The high-end liquor selection is well rounded as well. You're sure to fund a pour that satisfies you. When it comes to the food, Harry's menu isn't complicated, but it has a variety of options that are all executed impeccably. Also, the quality of the food is fresh and never heavy, which puts Harry in a class all his own. The seafood dishes are, in my opinion, better than most bars that try to do fish here (we are landlocked, so it's not catch of the day quality but, again it's better than most). The salmon is an excellent plate and is simply served with classic rice pilaf and steamed vegetables. But, my favorite fish dish is the shrimp tacos with plump bouncy medium-sized shrimp and creamy tangy slaw studded with mango. On the menu, it says fish tacos however, you can absolutely replace the fish with shrimp! That's the hack. Also if you're feeling fun and maybe a little frisky, the Late Breakfast part of the menu is full of hangover helping meals. I personally love the Chilaquiles Verde.

Yelp
Nice menu with plenty of healthy options including salmon and salads alongside deliciously guilty fare like all the fried apps- wings, bacon wrapped shrimp, and pasta. Lots of interesting sandwiches too. Unique cocktail list. The elote corn liquor cocktail Elote de Note was delicious. Hole in the wall ambiance but classy. Street parking or paid lot nearby.

Yelp
We have been to this place before on St. Patrick's Day. It was super busy and completely green due to Saint Patrick's Day. This is a very nice neighborhood of Kansas City near the river market so they are plenty of options. Remember, there is a parking so you need to find a parking close by on the curb before you get here. The moment you enter the place, you'll see a very local bar kind of a view, but let me tell you that you will be amazed by a kind of food. They serve and drinks they have on the menu you can't go wrong with literally anything on the menu they are amazing. Everything is served fresh and hot. The service over here is pretty good , the drinks are amazing. Just make sure you are spending time there enjoying a nice meal and having a chat with your friends it's not too loud.

Yelp
Visiting Kansas City for a few days and staying downtown, decided to take the free streetcar, and ended up at Harry's Country Club. Very cool place, with outdoor and indoor seating. Be aware that smoking is permitted outside. And yes, they actually sell cigars. I purchased and enjoyed a nice Macanudo before and after dinner. There with a group of 16, and our server was spot on! She was quick with recommendations and gave us honest opinions of our food options. I started the experience with their Country Club Shandy. Tito's vodka, Coor's Light, and lemonade mixed perfectly for a great refreshing drink on an 84 degree evening. I actually enjoyed a couple, and they paired great with my cigar. As far as the food, I had the highly recommended buffalo chicken sandwich. Superb! Perfect amount of sauce, fresh crisp toppings, and a super soft bun. It came with thin cut fries (shoestring cut) and they were fried tobperfection. Very happy! I actually wanted the fried bologna, (I love thick cut fried bolgna), but the waitress convinced me not to do it. Someone in our group didn't listen, but the waitress was right once again. I'm glad I didn't order it. If ever in KC, and you're not forced to have BBQ, I highly recommend Harry's.

Yelp
We were staying nearby in the financial district and decided to try this place for lunch on a Friday. They have plenty of seating both inside and outside, so we decided to sit inside. A waitress quickly brought us water and menus. I opted for the steak salad, and my husband had the Buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. My steak was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The salad also had lettuce, tomatoes, feta cheese, onions and a spicy creamy vinaigrette dressing. My husband' dish was very tasty and very plentiful. He thoroughly enjoyed it. Service was great throughout our meal. Highly recommend this place for lunch.

Yelp
Food is always good here. I got buffalo Mac and cheese and some apps during happy hour. Lots of whiskeys and can beers to try. I had my 1st London mule. It has a different vibe than a lot of restaurants, relaxing and old school. Service was prompt but I went on a slow Tuesday night.
google avatar

Stephanie K.

Yelp
We love Harry's. They have great salads. I got their veggie burger and it was great. Drinks are also good here. Servers are quick and wonderful

Yelp
Harry's is definitely a 4.5-star kind of place. It has a beautiful bar, a great patio and incredibly friendly service. It's an "upscale dive" (by my definition) and has something for everyone! Want a cheap yard beer? Got it. Want a fancy whiskey that you've never heard of? Done. Good food at a good price in an awesome space? Yeah, that's exactly what you'll get.

Christian K.

Yelp
Outside patio and inside bar are nice, especially if you're just drinking. The score comes from the food; or the lackluster vibe of it. My girlfriend and I both ordered the buffalo chicken sandwich and split a Caesar salad. The Caesar salad lacked taste. The dressing and croutons had no flavor. Honestly a 3/10. The chicken of the sandwich had a good crisp but the taste was no where to be found. 4/10. Ambience is great but the food is very mid.

Yelp
This was our first time stopping in at Harry's Country Club. We got there around 4:30 and had no wait to seat ourselves. It was Happy Hour so we ordered nachos and I got the Bomb Pop martini. The martini was great and tasted like the rocket pop popsicle. I would come back and get this drink again. The chicken nachos were just ok and did not have a lot of flavor. I would pass on these next time. Overall, I loved the space and the service was very quick and we did not have long waits. I would return again for Happy Hour drinks.
google avatar

Yesenia M.

Yelp
Harry's is my go to for a late dinner or simply comfort American food. Every time I come here I order the Patty Melt with fries and it's my favorite! The fries are very unique and always made fresh to order. Another recommendation has to be the mango habanero wings, if you're down for that sweet and spicy flavor. Service has never been an issue, very friendly and attentive staff.
google avatar

Emily K.

Yelp
I came for dinner on a Saturday night, and we got sat immediately with no wait! Definitely dive bar vibes. We ordered the onion rings, buffalo mac and cheese, cornbread, and a salad to share. Everything was super delicious! Still thinking about the cornbread with the honey butter. The onion rings were awesome too! The buffalo mac was really good, it looks very soupy in other photos but ours was not. Service was great. Will definitely be back if I'm craving bar food!
google avatar

Yelp
We hadn't been back here in years! Since it was a Monday at 3 it was not crowded- yeah! And we seated ourselves- arrived right at Hapoy Hour! They have an impressive happy hour especially if you are there seeking a late lunch. We went for the chicken nachos and hummus plate and of course a few drinks. Love love love the music!
google avatar

Rachel J.

Yelp
Harry's Country Club is such a cozy restaurant/bar. I came here with a couple friends for dinner and I was thoroughly impressed with the interior. I tried the crispy buffalo chicken sandwich and it was delicious. The fries were pretty typical. The cost is a little pricey but nothing too terrible especially for a good meal and service. I will definitely be returning and I would recommend others to check out this spot!
google avatar

Scott G.

Yelp
This was my second visit to Harry's and I had to bring my wife along after going the first time with a friend. Both visits were great and I sat at the bar both times. Their both staff is friendly and knowledgeable about all their cocktail offerings. The food is excellent and I highly recommend Harry's Country Club.
google avatar

Debbie O.

Yelp
Love the food. Been going here for years and today was charged for a refill on a soda. That has never happened before. It is not the $ but the principal. Fountain soda cost change who doesn't have free refills these days? I ask the waiter, Cal, about this. His response was it depends on the people... so is the people me and my table of friends or him compared to another waiter?
google avatar

Yelp
Came on Friday night to enjou the Happy Hour menu and the Chicken nachos which i havent tried befote. I will start bu saying thay 45appetizers were ordered and 4 happy shout drinks as well. I enjoyed all the appetizers ordered, however the one I came here for I was disappointed with. The chicken nachos were lacking in the chicken department. The taste of these didn't disappoint but the chicken aspect did. All I will say is add more shredded chicken so people enjoy it otherwise it will clearly be a disapointment and won't be ordered again. The old fashioned and vodka cran mule were great and on point, the reason I ordered another round.
google avatar

Bob N.

Yelp
First timer. Loved the vibe, service at bar terrific, nice beer and booze selection. Ordered the pretzel sticks. The did not look or taste like a pretzel at all! Actually tasted really bad. The Guinness beer cheese saved the day...cause I was starving.

Yelp
Really good food!! Service was so great and a large variety of drinks, nice outdoor area!
google avatar

Lanie O.

Yelp
Solid food, great service and affordable. Inside is pretty loud, for those sensitive to such things. Good happy hour deals, too!
google avatar

Sabrina M.

Yelp
Never had a bad drink here! The KC sour is the best on the menu. Food is great and service is friendly and quick. I love sitting in the screened in outside. All the art and posters inside are fun . Gets very busy nights and weekends so sometimes you might wait. They do take reservations you have to call them.
google avatar

Jimmy D.

Yelp
Visit place twice on our recent visit to KC, we rarely visit a place twice when traveling. Both times the service was genuinely friendly, not cheesy friendly. Our food was really good on both visits. The bartender was a very friendly, we enjoyed chatting with/ him at lunch. The vibe of the place is hard to beat, like a well established neighborhood tavern. Loved the somewhat subtle ode to old song legit country music. We're looking forward to our next visit.
google avatar

Jamie R.

Yelp
This place has a great vibe due to its location in the historic river market. It feels like it's been there for a hundred years. The bar is probably the main attention with plenty of beers on tap. The food is ok. My bean burger was a bit on the mushy side but my wife's chicken club was fine American fare.
google avatar

Jeff M.

Yelp
This is not a sports bar Yelp!! We got yelled at for thinking it was. Oh well, next stop blue line...
google avatar

Fiona Z.

Yelp
Drinks are good, vibe was nice, and they even had a small non-alcoholic menu. I'd come back for drinks, not for food. The fact that they charged $4 for "chex mix" (bar snacks) that were completely stale was really something. It also wasn't the Chex Mix you get at stores because there were some random things in there, like the stray Hot Cheeto (not bad, just...weird?). Also, the elote ($12) was NOT like actual elote in any form, except that it had corn. I don't know what the cheese or sauce was, but they didn't taste anything like cotija, mayo, and cilantro. It just tasted like sad ranch canned corn kernels.
google avatar

Becca B.

Yelp
I've been to Harry's Country Club several times and I have never been disappointed. I've been for happy hours, with friends, coworkers & on a date...left happy each time! I highly recommend trying the buffalo wings, French onion dip with chips, or the cheese curds appetizers...yummmm! Their Cuban sandwich is also one of my top favorites. The patio is very spacious and beautiful if you can snag a table outside!
google avatar

Joe R.

Yelp
Right in the City Market area, Harry's serves up some really good food and drinks. Nice inside dining area and large bar including a few tables for outside eating. We ordered the double Rueben, country fried chicken, and the Cobb salad with grilled chicken. All of us thought the meals were tasty and came out hot. Ashley took good care of our table. Order the appetizer onion rings- good batter and delish! They have a good menu with lots to choose from, so you should be able to find something to suit your taste. Roll the dice to see if you get lucky to find a parking spot on the street. Otherwise there is a pay lot across the street and another close by.
google avatar

Marissa S.

Yelp
Service has always been great here and no complaints as far as food and drinks. Harry's is consistent, and you can be sure you'll be well taken care of by the servers and bartenders. It's a casual, inviting bar with warm lighting and tons of seating.
google avatar

David S.

Yelp
Friendly bar. Good waitresses. Guinness on tap. Good menu. Jukebox isn't that good. Mostly country. But lively. Like to hang out here. They don't mind if you drink now and eat later. Recommended.
google avatar

Randy D.

Yelp
Best pork tenderloin sandwich anywhere in the Midwest! The Old Fashions are pretty good also.
google avatar

Kevin H.

Yelp
Good atmosphere, only place I have been to with sour cream and onion dip. The house chips were great, I could eat those all day lol. It was a good place I have no issues

Tucker S.

Yelp
I've been to Harry's a few times since moving to Kansas City and my experiences have been varied. The food is always delicious (especially the chicken sandwich), the service is good, and the drinks are priced fairly. Unfortunately my last experience was my worst. My group was sat in their covered patio to eat, which was warm and comfortable, but there was a man chain smoking right by our table. I wouldn't have had a problem with the smoke if the patio was open air, but it was covered and insulated, so the smoke wasn't going anywhere. I thought about saying something to the staff, but the staff was chatting with the man, which let me know that they didn't have a problem. Once the man lit his second cig right after finishing the first, my group decided to leave. I'll probably still go back to Harry's, as its one of the only places that serves food after 9, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

Kathleen M.

Yelp
Food has always been good, but we were seated in the enclosed patio room and there was a woman smoking cigarettes. This was not the outdoor patio. We were with a large group or I would've asked to be moved. I'm shocked someone was allowed to smoke in Kansas City Mo.
google avatar

Casey G.

Yelp
Great selection, awesome recs from the bartender (Britney is amazing!!). Would come back anytime!
google avatar

Eric D.

Yelp
This place has a really nice ole timey atmosphere. I wouldn't really expect much from the food, but it was confusingly good. Nothing fancy, but everything was done the exact way it needs to be done. I went for dinner and drinks on Saturday night, then went back on Sunday for brunch. The service was great, and the staff really seemed to really enjoy their job. Oh, did I mention the drink menu was on point? 'Cause, yeh. Brunch to after dinner drinks, they've got you covered.
google avatar

Tina G.

Yelp
It's where all the cool people go. You've got your PBR drinking hipsters and your fancy pantses having an assortment of cocktails--and every type of customer in between. They have a great food menu that goes well above a traditional bar menu. The bartenders are fantastic ( especially Brian!), and a jukebox that plays Dolly, Waylon, Willie, and the likes...Go there!
google avatar

Amit K.

Yelp
Great whiskey selection. This medicine cabinet is 40% off on Sunday's. So makes it is bargain. They have the usuals, local Kansas but also few newer releases. Go often.
google avatar

Dan H.

Yelp
(1-5 ranking ) Parking 3 Clean 4 Food 5 Service 4 Parking might not be easy since the restaurant is next to the street. But there's paid parking cross the street. The restaurant is clean. And staff clean up the table quite fast. Food is good here ! It's a good place to bring friends for dinner or lunch bite ! Price matched their value. Service is good. Been there couple times, I can expect certain quality of service and food always from them. Give it a try for a nice weekday dinner date. You will love this place.
google avatar

Lindsey L.

Yelp
Harry's is like the Cheers of Kansas City, a neighborhood pub with good service, great food, and even better drinks. Some of my favorite things about Harry's are their outdoor patio and happy hour M-F 3-7 pm Sat 11 am-7 pm featuring $3-4 beers, $5.50 wines, $6.50 cocktails, $18 sangria pitchers, snacks ranging from $4.50-$6.95 including a $4.95 burger. Typically I order the buffalo chicken sandwich. It's gigantic, delicious, and comes with addictive crispy lil fries. But everything I've tried here is good. I'm also a sucker for the sangria. They are very accommodating to large groups, and great for a small causal hang too. It can get busy and loud but I've never had trouble finding a seat. There's no parking lot, but a street parking is available.
google avatar

EJ G.

Yelp
Food is really good. Their habanero ranch is amazing. Top 3 ranches in the city for sure. Happy hour is a go to. I usually get their boneless wings. Service is always good. Whether I'm sitting at the bar or having a table they are always really personable. The ambiance sets you back in time feeling like you're in a old classy bar during prohibition. A lot of wooden furniture and nostalgic memorabilia around. Only reason why it's 4 stars instead of 5 is it can get pricy. So keep that in mind but that is a minor thing. I still go all the time.
google avatar

Emily H.

Yelp
This is me and my boyfriends go to spot! Since I've lived in KC, I've always went to Harry's for a good time. They have solid drinks and food. They also have a great patio with an amazing view of the city. You can't go wrong coming here!
