We stayed at the Marriott for one night recently and chose the hotel for the location. Check in was a breeze, wonderful, helpful attentive staff from check in desk to the bartenders at the L bar. The location is great, we took a stroll along the river which was lovely and had some apps at the bar which was really good. I have to give them 3 stars due to the need for a sprucing up! It's a soulless, sterile and dated hotel. It's like when you walk into an old target that hasn't been updated yet. The rooms are very dated, old furniture, TVs, & bathrooms. The pool area has beautiful views but my gosh update it! The floors were so slippery, the pool looks like it hasn't been touched since it opened & the hot tub was a metal old nasty looking tub. So much potential. Our biggest issue was the AC in our room. When we got in it was so hot. We closed the blinds & left the AC all night & when we returned it was just as hot. At 2am they ended to giving us a new room which thankfully had better AC but still a bummer. Thankfully we used our points for the stay & didn't spend our money on this hotel. Overall, great staff & location but the property needs some real loving.

I enjoyed my stay very much. The front desk staff including Rachell, Danajah and Joyce were awesome! They were friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. They are a true asset to the Marriott team!!|The hotel was very nice and clean. The rooms were spacious and clean as well. The concierge lounge was nice and the food and view was good.|The made to order omelette station and breakfast were excellent. This is my "go-to" hotel when I visit the Hartford area!

The hotel was super convenient for our volleyball tournament. The hotel upgraded us for being gold and offered the points off the jump, as well as free waters. Very nice staff. The hotel is a bit dated. Decent hotel food. Bar was cool, but over priced, and really packed. The bar charged me twice for a to go sandwich and I didn't catch it because I was in a rush. Still waiting for a call back. Still recommend a stay here.

Fantastic front desk staff. Fantastic location with self parking. We were on the 18th floor. Amazing views. We got room service dinner & breakfast everything was top notch. Even more amazing views of the city from the pool area. We also had some drinks at L Bar. Fantastic service from Maria I believe her name was. We will definitely return when in the area.

I had the pleasure of checking in with Gretchen at the front desk of the Marriott, and she truly made my stay memorable! She was incredibly kind, had such a warm and welcoming presence, and her sense of humor was top-tier—she kept me laughing with her funny jokes the entire time. On top of that, she had a beautiful smile that made me feel right at home. It’s rare to come across someone who can brighten your day so effortlessly. Thank you, Gretchen, for the amazing service!

We had a wonderful trip. Although we checked in around 11pm, Daneisha was a wonderful help. (I really hope I spelled her name correctly!) She was patient, understanding, and very helpful. I cannot stress that enough. It was a busy night and she still found the time to be amazing. We really appreciate her help. The room was lovely as well & quite clean! Especially the bathroom!

Google
I want to thank Maria of room cleaning at the Hartford Marriott for her willingness to investigate and recover a cherished keepsake that was accidentally left in our room. She listened to my request with interest and empathy, and called me back with an update that the item had been found. I truly appreciate Maria's willingness to facilitate finding it. Thank you again Maria.

Very disappointed with my experience at this hotel, especially considering it was almost $900 for 2 nights. A family member had made the reservation for me, and I called the Monday prior to provide my credit card and Bonvoy number. They supposedly recorded the Bonvoy number (I am a Silver Elite member) and said it was not necessary to do that and it could be done at check in. Upon my arrival, there were just 2 people working and check in was quite slow. The person who helped me insisted on having a driver's license to get things started which after having been in the car for 5 hours straight, I was having trouble finding and just wanted to check in. I had my reservation number and Bonvoy number and asked if I could use another form of ID and she said no. I then had to get out of line with all my things, found my license, and then get back in line and wait again to check in. I had to give my Bonvoy number again b/c the agent I talked to the Monday prior didn't record it or it got wiped out when my family member checked into their room. The check in process was slow and I am a Silver Elite Lifetime member and did not get a virtual keycard. Other issues experienced during my study included strange marks on the wall of the room near my nightstand (see photos) and a understaffed Starbucks with a long line, so I had to get breakfast from the snack counter which had limited options. A pop tart was $6. Self-park was $19/night which was supposedly discounted. I was not given my rate or estimated total at check in or check out. I requested to be emailed a copy of my bill at checkout and never got it. Had to call twice to get it. My credit card was charged for more than the total, and so I had to call about that; it apparently includes a hold. It's 2 days later and the charge is still pending and is for more than the total. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel. The rates are exorbitant and the service and attention to detail is poor.

Yelp
Lovely one night stay in Hartford for a volley ball tournament. This venue was literally crushed by hundreds of teenage girls and their families and they passed the stress test with flying colors. Friendly front desk, prompt housekeeping, clean rooms and reasonable food options. The big negative is the parking. It was a huge fiasco to find parking in the adjacent garage. I made it happen but after a pretty lengthy search for a spot up on the 8th level. But I will say the overnight cost of $19 is reasonable for self park but will definitely pay the additional cost for valet if there's a next time. Nice centrally located hotel near lots of great restaurants and connected to the convention center.

Yelp
I had such high expectations for my stay at the Hartford Marriott downtown. I traveled to Hartford and met up with my favorite little sister. Upon arrival, we were greeted and checked in. My little sister had accumulated sone status as a bonvoy member (she's in the upper echelon of the status groups), as such she is used to being given a couple of complimentary water bottles upon checking in. My status is nowhere near hers, so I wasn't expecting anything. The reservation was under my name. The lobby was nicely decorated. Our room was comfortable and clean. The staff though left me a bit underwhelmed. When my sister went back down to ask for water, she was told to buy it. I had an early flight, so my sister was going to check out later in. As I walked in the lobby, I had these eyes staring at me as if I had stolen something. The eyes followed me until I informed her my sister would be checking out. I don't think I would stay here again. The hotel is nice though.

Yelp
It's a bit dated but still in decent condition. The staff doesn't answer questions on the Marriott app. It does need updating. Nothing seriously wrong but the double beds r small!! Should have been queens!! The concierge lounge was open on weekends but the staff told me otherwise!! Nice pool and gym on the top floor!!

Adam C.

Yelp
This Marriott may win an award for the friendliest full service Marriott and it was very refreshing. In short, they took care of things with a smile and without an attitude. The rooms were ample and there was a work desk. The lounge was not open (serving) which seems to be the future of Marriotts. They did offer a breakfast which is better than most Marriotts these days for their loyal repeat guests.

Bryson G.

Yelp
5 stars for location, views, concierge lounge, and front desk service. 3 stars for the gym, it doesn't really have much and it could be SO much better! There are a few free weights, a few cardio machines, and not much else. They didn't even have a foam roller to stretch out on. 1 star for the multiple hairs I found when I walked into the shower. Seeing something like that makes me wonder if they really do clean their rooms after a guest uses them. These hairs weren't in some hard to spot location either, they are front and center, eye level when you get into the shower...and they are long hairs. Absolutely disgusting!!! Had I not found these hairs in my shower I might have gone 3-4 stars, but I can't do it because I'm disgusted by the lack of cleaning standards. It's completely unacceptable.

Yelp
We had a good experience here. I like the downtown Marriott locations. There were a couple of conventions going on, & it seemed that this hotel could accommodate a large amount of people. They were quick to do a repair we requested, to give us an extra blanket, and to provide some extra toiletries requested. I also found out that when someone leaves a credit card at any of the hotel facilities, such as at the restaurant, they keep it in their safe until they can find the owner. This is a great policy. We didn't go in- but we saw that on the top floor they have a pool, hot tub, and fitness room. The restaurant has fresh fruit, bacon, sausage, egg, French toast, oatmeal, and more. The Starbucks cafe was crowded, so a sit-down breakfast was preferable.

Kelly Y.

Yelp
My husband and I stayed here for a night after attending a nearby concert. Very nice lobby and room is clean but lacked some of the basic necessities such as hand soap and hair dryer. Towels were also scarce for whatever reason. Other hotels I've stayed in provided bottled water but not this one so.. was a little bit disappointed. The concierge was very nice though. Probably wouldn't be my top choice to stay again but it's also not terrible.

Todd H.

Yelp
This is a solid choice if you need to stay downtown Hartford. The hotel needs a little updating with its furniture, but there have been cosmetic updating and the staff was friendly. There isn't really alot downtown unless you are visiting the convention center. They have a little market next to the front desk and I have to tell you the prices for items, like alcohol were less than expected. Room was spotless and beds were nice.

Sunny M.

Yelp
- Great location - Convenient garage & parking facility - Hotel ambiance - Convenient pool, gym, spa - Overpriced food options (restaurant, breakfast in-room delivery)

Baneza F.

Yelp
Had a great stay this weekend for the women's retreat 2024! Everything was great the rooms were clean, and the beds were super comfortable!!

Christina A.

Yelp
I had a good stay at the Marriott in Downtown Hartford. I was attending a conference at the CT Conference Center and the hotel is attached to the conference center. My room was clean and tidy, the location was convenient, and the staff was nice. The rooms are slightly smaller than a few other hotels I've been in recently and the parking (even at the discounted hotel rate) was SO expensive.

Polly H.

Yelp
How inviting! This is a beautiful hotel! What's better than staying with your in laws for the holidays? I recommend checking in to a hotel. They also offer a Thanksgiving dinner. Ahhh...it's great. The lobby alone is breathtaking. I am mesmerized by the terrazo marble floor (perfect to perfect one's moon walk or better yet for the best salsa moves). The lady at the front is friendly and approachable. I noticed the staff is kind to each other as well. I noticed that they have a Starbucks, trattoria, and also a bar inside. It's packed with a spa, a fitness center, and possibly a pool. I'm not sure because I didn't go downstairs and explore yet. I will when I wake up and get out of this cozy warm bed. The bathroom is full of Thisworks shampoo,. conditioner, and lotion which has natural scents like eucalyptus, citrus, ginger, and nutmeg. It's nice and clean. I would highly recommend it.

Yelp
Security Breach! Marriott Hartford Downtown/Convention Center Individual getting on to hotel floors without hotel key. Appeared to be following down the hallways both ways. Security shares isolated incident (although I have read another review that challenges this about homeless being allowed to loiter/trespass) Security believes a comped room is sufficient for our fearful experience. All we requested was a call from corporate with an apology. (received an email from customer service saying please convey our apology to my wife) No decency of a genuine phone call. My wife was sincerely impacted. Couldn't get out of the hotel fast enough. no sleep that night either.

Lauren-Ashleigh C.

Yelp
I really expected more from a Marriott connected to a convention center. The lady that checked me in was pretty rude compared to the rest of the staff. However, most of the staff could not give me recommendations for any place to grab food or order delivery. I was shocked that the hotel did not have any coffee or tea (and apparently all coffee shops in Hartford close on the weekends.) The hotel has a covid policy that requires you to order room service the day before but I missed the cutoff since my plane arrived late. As for the coffee fiasco, I ended up walking 40 minutes to the Hilton where they made me a free latte. Apparently the Hilton is about the same rate as this Marriott-- I would recommend going there as the customer service is much better. My room was small and pretty outdated. I was also upset that the drain in the bathtub didn't work and the vending machines only worked some of the time. This hotel could use a major update.

Taylor N.

Yelp
I advised you check your bedding to ensure that it is clean. Apparently they made the bed, but did not change the comforter prior to me checking in. Thankfully I noticed once I pulled the cover back. I called to request new bedding which I received. Due to the new COVID policy, housekeeping could not come into my room so I had change my own bedding. You would think during a pandemic they would own their sanitation policy. When booking this room I was excited to see it was " sound proof". Thought I would get a great night sleep but it is not soundproof. You can hear everything going on in the hallway.

Yelp
I just read another Yelper's review of this awesome hotel and it reminded me that I have stayed here countless times while in Hartford. Each time my experience has been great. I have not been there since the remodel that LJD mentioned, so I'll look forward to checking this out on my next visit. Staff has always been accommodating in every area of the hotel. I once broke my ankle while on a day trip partaking in some snow activities and they allowed me to stay a few extra days at my weekend rate. Greatly appreciated because It was an extra 3-4 days that I was not able to travel. They even checked in with me to see how I was doing and brought me treats. The hotel has a great restaurant on-site called Vivo, which is not your standard hotel fare. They attract locals as well at this top-notch rated restaurant that has taken home several awards over the years. Most recently the 2017 Wine Spectator Top Honors Award. I have had the breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner. The menu is creative and most importantly I have enjoyed every meal. I think that is a hard thing to accomplish time over time. Kudos to the chef and the rest of the staff. L Bar , is a sophisticated spot to grab a terrific cocktail and it offers an upscale menu too. They have a happy hour with some very attractive pricing. The gym and in-door pool are well maintained. You will also find a spa with an array of services. You can't go wrong here in my book if you are looking for a hotel in downtown Hartford.

Yelp
I had very pleasant stay! Good staffs and a clean room. If I have a chance to go conneticut again Inwould love to choose this hotel!

Yelp
Marriott Downtown Hartford CT is located very convenient location. Right off the highway I-91. It is next to the convention center and science center. Nice spacious rooms, indoor pool and hot tub on the top floor with a fantastic view. 2 nice restaurants on the main floor Vivo and L bar. Also there is a starbucks right across from the front desk. Outside of the hotel there are also nice restaurants within the block like Capital Grille, Bear's BBQ extremely recommended. Will definitely come back here again.

Kathleen S.

Yelp
Great staff at front desk (especially India who is exceptional) and L Bar. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Highly recommend a stay here.

Erika D.

Yelp
First, and I know this is weird, but the lobby of this hotel smells amazing! I have never said that about any hotel but several of us commented on it. Now for the only bad I could find, the towels are like using sandpaper! I expect better from a full Marriot when it comes to this, BUT that is my only negative about this particular hotel. It has a good restaurant, a nice bar with good bar food options (nachos, etc), good room service 24 hours a day, and friendly staff. They also have a local shuttle that runs to several of the big companies. Definitely my hotel of choice when in Hartford!

Tom G.

Yelp
The Hartford Downtown Marriott is a pretty nice place. Good and not so good here. First the good. It's a fairly new, large, modern looking hotel. The staff is fairly helpful and friendly. The concierge lounge was comfortable and offered a good breakfast and evening snacks and dessert. The downside about the concierge lounge food was that it was pretty much the same every day - almost no variety. It got pretty old after a few days. A colleague who stays here frequently mentioned the same thing in passing. The fitness center is big enough with all the usual stuff in great working condition. I got to use it twice on this trip. The lobby has a large Starbucks which opens early. The lobby also has a nice, but fairly overpriced bar. Some nice beers on tap, but more expensive than other lobby bars I've visited in other major cities. The rooms are fairly large, comfortable, well maintained and housekeeping does a good job cleaning up. The complaint about the rooms is that the walls seem paper thin. I was frequently woken up by various noises outside my room. This is probably one of the better properties in the area, but if I stayed here again, I would ask for top floor in a corner to avoid the noises.

Dave S.

Yelp
Wonderful experience at their bar! Megan the bar tender was friendly and made me a special jalapeño pineapple margarita I wanted after a challenging day at Hartford Hospital. Just what I needed!

Stefanie L.

Yelp
This was a very beautiful hotel. We stayed here for an event we were hosting at the convention center next door. The hotel staff was incredibly friendly and helpful at check in. I can imagine dealing with over 500 cheerleaders and their parents was not their favorite task that day. The elevators require a room key in order to go up to a specific floor. It was a nice safety feature to have. The rooms are very spacious. There's plenty of room to move around comfortably. The bathrooms weren't huge but they were sufficient. The beds looked fluffy and cozy, however they are deceiving. The beds are rock hard and not very comfortable. The pillows are the type that look fluffy and soft but the minute you lay your head down, they flatten out like a pancake. There is a bar and restaurant on site as well as a full starbucks. The convention center is connected to the hotel by a hallway so going back and forth is painless. Overall this was a very nice hotel and I would definitely stay here again.

Ritchie G.

Yelp
Great experience. Great location, plenty of food options near by. There is a movie theater just a block away. The Club Lounge is very nice, and it's attendants went above and beyond. I am looking forward to my next visit. Thank you!!!

Tracy H.

Yelp
Nice hotel. Came in for the soccer game and was pleased. Good location and nice food options in the area. Would recommend!

Aaron S.

Yelp
This is a review of the catering/function experience. I have no idea what the hotel is like as I have not stayed here. I have attended several parties and business functions here. i have been consistently impressed. The food, the bar service, the ambience, and the servers are all outstanding. The spacious area is extremely well laid out. A huge dance floor allows room for all to enjoy. even the valet parking experience is perfect with a minimal wait even though everyone is leaving at the same time. With many choices in Hartford, it must be hard to stand out. But, this one does. That is clearly their goal and they do not drop the ball on anything.

Pam G.

Yelp
The hotel is conveniently located downtown next to the Connecticut Convention Center. Valet parking is a little awkward to find at first - it's around the back of the hotel so you could self park at the garage around back or drop off for valet. I used the valet service and never had a wait for my car when I called ahead from the room. The hotel lobby has a popular bar, keep in mind the hotel is often filled from a nearby conference but the lobby is large enough to handle overflow without interrupting the normal flow of traffic through the hotel lobby. The wine is offered by the glass and at 3, 6 or 9 oz which depending on your preference makes for a perfect nightcap for all. As should be in all hotels especially those in a downtown area you need to use your hotel key to operate the elevator. I was on the 21st floor so I cannot speak to how quiet the room is to outside city noise however the hotel room is very quiet and I didn't hear any hallway noise, neighboring showers or alarms or ice machine down the hall. The bathroom was pretty - wish I took a photo for the review - glass doors instead of an old tub which added to the stay in my opinion. To have a nice hot shower in the AM or after a long day in the office in a well lit and appointed shower goes a long way on a business trip. One day I was actually in the room until after 2 pm and never even heard housekeeping in the hallways although I know they had to come through sometime during the day. Also was pleasantly surprised when I can back three hours later my room was refreshed. I had a great view, because Marriott has no control over how pretty Hartford skylines may or may not be, and the blackout curtains work perfectly for anyone who needs complete darkness in the room. I've grown accustomed to TVs that don't go to sleep - the button on the remote to set a sleep timer is always worn out in hotels; and was worn out in room 2121 as well. I wish Marriott would carry Paul Mitchell instead of Thann bath products (to follow suit with Courtyard) but there was a bathrobe in the closet here so I guess it's a fair trade off. Of course there is a refrigerator in the room, which is fantastic for me because I need to bring in Coke as Marriott insists on contracting with Pepsi. Finally, there is a Starbucks in the lobby with a large sitting area which gives you room to grab a coffee and air with a laptop without being non top of someone else doing the same.

Jan S.

Yelp
This Marriott has most of what you want/need. Professional and competent service, comfortable beds and rooms, good shower pressure, restaurant and bar, fitness, pool, great location and transportation. There is a Starbucks with very limited hours. Don't expect to get coffee or dessert after 4. Food is good at restaurants and in room.

Solmaz C.

Yelp
This was our first time in CT and I must say that I really enjoyed our time here. The staff was very friendly, the hotel itself was very nice and clean. The rooms are spacious, which was nice. They do have a restaurant on site but not many places within walking distance

Kasey R.

Yelp
Room: Spacious clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Regular working desk station. Multiple USB charging ports in room are a plus. Must use room key to activate the elevator. The gym is open 24/7 which was great. I stopped here at 2am to fill my water bottle and there was one person working out. The gym does get a crowd in the am hours before business hours but there was at least 1-2 machines available when I arrived at 6:30am. The pool and hot tub look clean. There is also Spa Services and massages available. Locations and Transportation: Walking distance to a number of corporate offices and restaurants. Also easy to get a cab or use the free shuttle that leaves on the half hour ever 30 mins. About 10 mins from the local Hartford train station, 40 mins from New Haven metro and short distance to airport. Nightlife: There isn't much at all. A number of locations roll up the carpet after business hours and close around 6:30-8pm. Price: With the very high price point, there wasn't anything over the top that would make me come back here before trying another local hotel when I look across prices. If price isn't a factor, this hotel is good location, spacious and clean room and pleasant staff. Food: I'll review Vivo, the hotel's attached restaurant separately. In short, moderate to slightly high prices for good dinner but so so for the breakfast and not so good for fruits.

Yelp
My three friends and I made a reservation two weeks prior. My friends are 19 and I'm 20, so we didn't think we'd have trouble checking in. However, apparently there is a state policy that you must have a 21 year old present in order to check into a hotel room. Being from California, we did not know of this. We completely understand and acknowledge rule after learning of it. It just took us by surprise because we were allowed to make the reservation and pay by ourselves (we input our birthdays and everything) with no complications. The lady at the front turned us away immediately, which was understandable. What was upsetting was the fact that she did not want to help us find any solution to our problem. Keep in mind that we arrived at the hotel at 11:30 PM. We have been here for over three hours trying to figure out a solution. While we were making calls and trying to find another place to stay, she called security on us because she "didn't understand why we were still there". The security guard was understanding and allowed us to stay in the lobby until we found a solution. We even tried asking someone over 21 to check in for us but the name on the credit card had to match the ID so no one could help us. We luckily ended up finding a room nearby, so we are safe now! Marriot, please don't allow people to make reservations if there is a requirement that prohibits them from checking in! Also, please hire more caring, understanding staff members! (Except you, Mr. Security guard! You're the best!)

Rachael S.

Yelp
It's the Marriott, furniture, bed, towels, service and environment got the very good quality as usual. And the location is good, I loved my stay overall. However, there is just 4 things you should know: 1. NO REFRIGERATOR IN THE ROOM. We got a regular room with the king size bed, n it's not there. 2. NOT MUCH NOISE INSULATED. We can hear people talking in the hall way like our door is open. And we heard the guest next door snoring all night (not as loud as the hall way, but if u wake up the middle of the night, it might take you a while to go back to sleep since that's the only noise in the middle of the night) FYI - the alarm does not have white noise. I always bring a fan with me. 3. BRING YOUR BATHING SUIT, THEIR POOL IS AMAZING! It is on the top floor, with big big windows all around over looking the Connecticut river, convention center and the whole downtown. You have to go take a look, there is also hot tubs, The experience is amazing! 4. CHECK OUT AT 11:00 AM PERIOD! I begged and begged coz we got up a little late, but the front desk will not let me have an extra half an hour without paying more. FYI - parking is $19 a night for hotel guests, from 12 am till 6 pm the next day, then is 2 dollars for each additional hour.

Katy E.

Yelp
Clean room, crisp sheets, the corner room was delightful seeing the roof tops and river. Easy access to the convention center. Staff and service were pronto with smiles even though the hotel was 100% full. My only complaint - you should have free coffee for guests for at least a couple hours in the morning... that's a nice touch. I had to pay $2. Thank you. When in Hartford, we will stay again.

Zachary K.

Yelp
Stayed here for my wedding and it didn't disappoint. The hotel staff upgraded us to a sweet suite. We also got a voucher for breakfast in the lobby restaurant. It's downtown hartford so parking is $19 a day, and their lounge is only open during the week days which tells you it's very geared towards business travel, so the benefits of platinum status are muted on the weekend, but the top level pool and large workout area make this one of the nicest hotels in hartford. There are quite a few nice restaurants that are walking distance.

Debra K.

Yelp
The location and the service was friendly, but why was the hallway being vacuumed at 8am on a Sunday morning?

Jeremy J.

Yelp
This hotel is adjacent to the convention center which means there's nothing around it besides a $75 per steak restaurant and a barbecue takeout joint and a crappy Mexican joint. This Hotel is also old. The Hilton which is a mile away has more comfortable rooms. The L bar that is in the lobby is actually somewhat nice, but also expensive.

John D.

Yelp
In town for business and this hotel in good location. I'm a Platinum Elite member, so I am no stranger to the brand. This particular hotel is ok but way overpriced. $177 pre tax + $19 to park is a bit crazy for a mid major city. Rooms were a bit small and bar/restaurant were fair at best. Service itself was extremely disappointing. For what was spent, you'd think they'd be friendly and bend over backwards for you. This was not the case. Slow, forgetful and incompetent best apply. I'd stay here again out of necessity but if given the choice, I will seek other options. Just not a good value.

Jennifer K.

Yelp
We have been here less than 4 hours for a small wedding. It's been bad, they put two out of the 5 of us in wrong rooms. We have dinner to go to and we are currently on hold with the front desk for over 10 minutes. It's incredible. Service people here do not pay attention. Plenty of other hotels in the area - book those.

Alex R.

Yelp
Maui wowie wowza woo I can't say enough about the customer service at this Marriott!! Yes people have gone on and on about how it rocks. I had to throw my two cents in above and beyond and then some..... After a ridiculously long day on the road, I showed up soaking wet and looking like a deranged poodle. Before I could even think they were taking my bags off of me and offering to clean my clothes free of charge. To top it all off they felt so bad for me (yes I must have looked that horrible) they even sent an amazing poach pear up to my room. It was a game changer. I think I still am drooling. (I may go to Hartford just to get another) Rooms are rather standard marriott, bathrooms are much more roomy than the usual city hotels. However, the cherry on top is the customer service. These guys came to play. Not five star because this isn't quite there yet. Better sheets ;)

Michael M.

Yelp
I'm adding this review because I'm disgusted with this hotel and its poor management. After a couple hours of dealing with extremely loud yelling and abusive language coming from other rooms on my floor, I called the front desk and tried to get it straightened out. By 3:00 A.M. things had finally calmed down. I was there on business, and out at 4:30 am. If I was there vacationing, I would surely have packed and found more suitable accommodations. My advice, stay way from this drama filled disaster of a hotel. A very uncomfortable experience indeed.

Yelp
Not impressed with this Marriott at all! Checking in late at night but the girl working honestly did not know what she was doing. It's took about 20 minutes for us to check in. I was here for an event being held in the hotel and both front desk agents told me it wasn't it the hotel but in the convention center next door. Luckily for me, I ignored them! It was in the hotel on the 3rd floor. Our room was nice and clean however no toiletries such as a shower cap, QTips, cotton balls. Nothing. Our key cards stopped working on 3 separate occasions, and yes we did not keep them beside our phones. Breakfast in the morning was a little disastrous as-well because they had a clearly inexperienced girl doing the seating. Very, very slow service for breakfast. It's well located and the rooms are clean.

Yelp
Our organization booked the annual awards banquet at the Hartford Marriott. It was a wonderful evening! A cash bar was set up for an evening of hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and dessert to accompany our awards ceremony. Our leaders had spoken with the staff regarding the timing of serving. Everything went off exactly as requested. Our event began with a cocktail hour and butler-passed hors d'oeuvres, which were delicious. Dinner was served promptly. We began with salad greens topped with tomatoes and fresh mozzarella cheese, with a drizzle of a really nice pesto dressing. Baskets of rolls were brought to the tables once the salad was served. The main course was incredible! My husband and I had the prime rib and it was the most tender, melt-in-your-mouth scrumptious prime rib! Everyone who had selected prime rib for their meal raved about it. I spoke to a few that had ordered the chicken and they really liked it as well. Dessert was chocolate cake and coffee. At first glance, the cake looked like it would be overly sweet but it wasn't. It was delicious without being too sweet or too rich. The coffee was very good. We had a dance floor set up for our group of 90+ attendees and had plenty of room for everyone to mingle and dance the night away. We have held our event here in the past and have always been very happy with the Hartford Marriott staff. Their meal offerings for these events are absolutely delicious. Our group had a block of rooms at a very good rate as well. My husband and I stayed overnight and I want to commend the staff for their outstanding customer service. I was having an allergic reaction to a fragrance in our room. I initially thought it was from the toiletries available but I later found the source: cologne had been spilled on the toiletry stands in the bathroom. Before we knew the source of the allergen, I called the front desk to request a fan to blow the scent out of the room. Once I informed the staff member of my allergic reaction, the level of customer service went into high gear. A member of the housekeeping staff was accompanied by a gentleman who immediately came up to assess the situation. A fan was brought up. The housekeeping staff member asked me repeatedly if there was anything more they could do. She suggested having an air neutralizer brought up. That was a great idea. One was brought up immediately by another staff member. After 30 minutes, the air quality was much better. It was at that time that I was able to identify the source of the allergen and have it removed from the room. I have never experienced such a high level of customer service before, especially during a very busy time for them. It was check-in time. There were weddings and a convention in addition to our event and the entire place was busy. Despite the busy time, they deployed several staff members to take care of me and spent the time necessary to resolve the issue. Not once did they make me feel like I was inconveniencing them. They were all extremely kind and helpful, and they resolved the issue very quickly. There are no words to truly convey the respect I have for the staff at the Hartford Marriott. I highly recommend them for overnight stays as well as large events. They are really great to work with, their food is absolutely delicious, the venue and rooms are beautiful, and you will not find better customer service. Thank you, Hartford Marriott staff, for a truly delightful evening and stay!

Yelp
Extremely noisy at check in Valet is inattentive Drunk people trying to access guest elevators Computers down during check out, could not provide a bill. After multiple calls to hotel, finally got a bill, that was not accurate. After several weeks, I'm still trying to get an accurate bill.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel. I was here for a conference and, I have to say, my stay was fantastic. The service was excellent, and the hotel is attached to the convention center so it was convenient. I did get to use the pool and jacuzzi, both were good. The room had a great view and was spacious and clean. I would definitely recommend if you are staying in the Hartford area.

Yelp
Conveniently located near the statehouse. Very standard Rooms with a minimal number of toiletries and towels. One of our face towels was soiled and because there was only two a spare wasn't available. Bed was comfortable. Restaurant was surprisingly good for dinner (pasta bolognese) and adequate for breakfast although the price to quality ratio was admittedly good. I'd normally give a place like this 2 stars because the dirty towel and minuscule number of toiletries is not acceptable at this price range. But I slept well and that counts most.

Yelp
I stay at Marriott Properties regularly while traveling for work. This is one of the better ones I have stayed in. Hotel staff was prompt and courteous. I checked in and made requests prior to checking in on the Marriott app and my shaving kit and toothbrush were waiting for me in my room along with the robe I requested. My room was clean and tidy, the only criticism of my whole stay was some of the trim in the bathroom was a little worn, and the sliding shower door had broken one of the tiles on the wall. The pool and gym on the top floor have a great view of the city, which I appreciated while using the facilities. Valet parking was excellent. And the on site restaurants were impeccable, beat service I have had in a hotel restaurant. My omelette in the morning was perfectly cooked, the bacon was quite good too. This will be my hotel of choice in Hartford for future visits.

Yelp
Nice hotel super close to the river walk and right in downtown. We had a nice corner room with a great view. The bathrooms are really nicely updated and the lobby is very cool. Parking was really convenient. The science center and convention center are both super close. Not a super busy area for being downtown location, but there is still enough to do and all the restaurants and shops are a short walk or drive away. Club lounge had some good desserts and fruit/waters/yogurt were always available. The lounge has a nice view and a trendy vibe with tvs and cute tic tac toe games.

Yelp
This Marriott hotel is great. There isn't a huge selection of nice hotels in Hartford. There is a convention center attached to this marriott. I was in Hartford for an award dinner and I could have stayed anywhere. My travel agent told me this was the best hotel. It was a bit pricy at $386 for the night. That's not including my food. The staff was soo friendly. I have stayed in so many Marriotts I have lost count. But the staff here went above and beyond. Always said hi to me when I passed. I asked the desk man where he would recommend to eat for lunch and he gave me 4 places, walking distance and explained the foods he liked and didn't like from his personal experiences. I ended up at teds Montana grill that is a block away. I have eaten at Teds in other places and love the food. I also ordered room service for dinner and breakfast. Dinner was ok. They skrewed up my order. I had to get another one sent up and they ended up charging me for 2 dinners. Not cool. But breakfast was great my sandwich was really nice and tasted good. Going up to the room you have to put your room card in the elevator to hit the floor. The only other place I had to do that was in Las Vegas when I had a suite and when I had a suite in AC. I don't get why I had to do it for a regular room but it's whatever. Parking was $30 a night The room was nice. Very clean. It was small for a hotel room. I kinda felt like I was staying at a hotel in NYC. Not a big deal tho. I would stay here again if I was in Hartford. PROS: -amazing staff -walking distance to food and attractions -parking is close CONS: -price -key to go to your floor(not a big deal)

Yelp
Top quality hotel that is very representative of what you would expect from the Marriott brand. This hotel is attached to the convention center and there is a parking garage with ample parking. The front desk staff are always pleasant helpful and rarely do I have to wait when checking in. On the first floor there is a great Italian restaurant called Vivo as well as a separate bar with bar food and drinks if that's more your speed. Across the hallway is a good sized Starbucks with an awesome seating area to enjoy your coffee, meet or get some work done. The rooms at this hotel are updated and have everything you would expect from Marriott. The hotel faces the Connecticut River giving you great views of the river and the riverwalk area. Thank you to the Hartford Marriott staff for always being so welcoming when I'm in town.
