Hart's Hotel and Kitchen

I stayed in Hart's Hotel for three nights while attending a conference at the University of Nottingham. The hotel is in an ideal location - just a short taxi ride from the train station and also from the university. I had never stayed in this hotel before and I chose it because of the value for money and the very positive feedback given in reviews. |I arrived in the late evening on a bitterly cold January evening. The gentleman at reception was most helpful and obliging. The room was perfect - warm, spacious and spotlessly clean. It was great to have a desk in the room as I had some work to do while staying there. Connecting to the internet was very easy and the internet signal was very good. . |I had dinner each night in the restaurant. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. The waiter Vas and the chef Sandy are to be congratulated on the high standard of their work. On Monday - Thursday there are special meal deals which are very good value. I also had lunch there on the day I was departing and it was also excellent. |I found all the staff to be very friendly and efficient and this helped to make my stay really enjoyable. I would like to give this hotel my highest possible recommendation and I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Nottingham.

Family have stayed here twice now. Good hotel, spacious rooms and ideal location, just on the edge of town, but there seems to be lack of communication between reservations and restaurant. We communicated serious allergies at the time of booking and asking whether suitable options would be available for breakfast, but when my husband and son arrived the restaurant staff were completely unaware. They did take it seriously there and then and eventually some suitable toast was found, but this was disappointing, having flagged the issue well in advance.

We had such a wonderful stay at Hart’s Hotel & Kitchen! The hotel is stylish, comfortable, and very welcoming. Our room was spotless, quiet, and beautifully designed, with everything we needed for a relaxing visit. The staff went out of their way to make us feel at home and were warm, attentive, and professional throughout our stay.||The highlight was definitely dining at Hart’s Kitchen—the food was exceptional! Fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. Breakfast was also a treat, with plenty of delicious options to start the day right.||The location is perfect—peaceful, yet just a short walk from the city center, which made exploring so easy. We left feeling refreshed and so glad we chose Hart’s. We would happily return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Nottingham.

You always get a warm welcome here from the friendly knowledgable staff. Such a quiet and peaceful atmosphere . We have made this an annual post Christmas afternoon tea tradition. The sandwiches are packed with filling and flavour, the home-made warmly served scones are delicious, and we could not choose our best cake this year, but LOVING the new lemon tarlet and carot cake. Thank you for another fabulous visit.

As a lone female traveller on business, I want a hotel that feels safe and comfortable and where the welcome is kind. I found it here. From my cosy room up on the second floor, to the best breakfast and dinner, I felt at home and relaxed. ||The high quality of the food and drink here makes eating a pleasure; everything is impeccably sourced, especially the Jing breakfast tea which made my start the day tea into a real moment of delight. ||The staff are friendly and attentive and I would unhesitatingly stay here again.

The room was small but clean and the staff member who checked us in was lovely. However, we woke up several times due to the constant opening and closing of doors on the landing. This noise could be addressed with soft closers or something similar around the inner frame to prevent the doors banging. Breakfast was nice and the serving staff were friendly and pleasant. However there was an additional charge on top of the already expensive room change. There was also a small car park available but again we had to pay another charge. Booked last minute so limited on choice of available hotels.

I have to say we were disappointed when we arrived at the hotel, it certainly lacks curb appeal. When entering the entrance and foyer it was not worthy of the hefty price tag.||However…..we were upgraded to a Garden room and it was lovely. Only 4/5 rooms in a delightful courtyard with fabulous views. The room was a good size, comfy bed, nice linens, loads of storage, good sized bathroom and a very reasonably priced (with ample choice) mini bar, we were pleasantly surprised.||The service was very good, the lady on reception was fabulous, really friendly, the lady at breakfast was lovely too, the gentleman seating guests at breakfast was fine, could do with being a little less aloof and a little more friendly.||The only reason with have taken a ‘blob’ off is in relation to the price, this really is a London price and we were very appreciative of being upgraded. If we didn’t think our upgraded room was worth the price, I wonder what we would have thought of the room we should have been allocated.

The check in service wasn't smooth. The front desk and night manager asked so many questions, that they can find out via the booking system. We waited for over half an hour to check in. They spent the time on checking if you leave notes for two single beds or one double. And the tone was like we owned them a millions pounds. Hotel was above average but the check in experiece was the worst I've ever had in any hotel over the world.

A tricky review, as my "Hart" would love to give 5 stars, but my head is sticking between 3 and 4. We were a last minute booking through a comparison website, and the main reason we selected the hotel was because of a reservation at the restaurant. We checked in and made our way up to deluxe room (a £10 extra charge). First of all the room came with a view that was beautiful. It really showed all of Nottingham and the floor to ceiling window enhanced this luxury to the maximum. The bed was comfortable and the shower powerful. However the room was slightly on the small side and the décor was a little dated for my personal taste. Now, considering we booked the room at half the price due to it being last minute it was perfectly adequate, but I would have been disappointed if I'd have paid full price. The staff were just as friendly/ professional as in the restaurant and I'd like to make a special mention to the bar man that we had the pleasure of servicing us. He was a master of the cocktails and even accommodated two fussy drinkers who asked for espresso martini's sweeter, and more bitter than the usual. Breakfast on offer was good, but again I personally don't think worth the hefty price tag of £10. My advice would be don't book a room at full price, certainly drink in the bar, and definitely eat in the restaurant.

It is seldom that I really feel private when I'am in a hotel on a business trip, and this is the certain amount of extra you get, when you stay at this venue. Apart from that, nice and comfortable room, good restaurant, excellent area of the city.

While it was slightly odd to have the honeymoon suite while alone on a business trip, this is one of my favorite boutique hotels of all-time. Exceptionally clean, modern rooms and friendly staff -- but the meals were a cut above. Just need an excuse to go back to Nottingham.

Great hotel for a business trip. While the bed almost filled up the whole room, it was nice to have lots of room to sleep. There were a lot of hangers in the closet which was awesome, and ample space for clothes. Be aware that the tub is quite raised so it can be treacherous when you are trying to get out of it! Service was attentive, and I found the hotel to be quiet and laid back. The little park bar was great for a late night coffee.

Staying here for a couple nights. Nice rooms but beds are bit hard for my taste. They have a bar called the Park Bar.food wasn't to bad a bit pricey. I was disappointed though when my kids and I ordered milkshakes. I really don't think they know what a true milkshake should look like and taste. These were basically chocolate and vanilla milks. No thickness what so ever. You shouldn't be able to drink a shake in 10 seconds. It also cost 3 pounds a piece.
