We were very disappointed with our room. The room was very musty smelling. The carpet is very outdated and could definitely stand to be replaced. The air conditioner had lots of dust in the vents which did not help with the poor quality of air in the room. The bed was comfortable and the bedding very nice. We left after one night although had to pay for both nights due to the two night minimum. My wife had fallen during the day and had an ankle injury which caused us to depart earlier than planned. The manager was firm in their two night minimum stay. It seemed very overpriced for a room in those conditions. We won’t be back.

Hart’s Inn was so perfect for our stay, it was just what we needed as a family of 2 adults and 2 kids as it was close to town, close to everything really as far as convenience goes. The staff was friendly and our room was clean which was huge for me personally because the night before we stayed in Mackinaw City at a motel that was not pleasant, so checking in to Hart’s Inn was a breath of fresh air. I think one of my favorite parts was sitting out on the patio in the evening, it was so peaceful, I miss it already! I was also impressed with how quiet it was, not once did we hear people outside of our room or next door. I highly recommend staying here!

Love staying here. Staff is excellent. only complaint would be they had a strong suggestion we use the porter service for a later ferry while we stayed on the island. Last at front desk suggested $2 a bag, then when we dropped off the guy said $5 a bag and tried to guilt us with how this is how they make a living. I'm fine with the cost, but be consistent.

We had such a great experience here! The employees went above and beyond to make sure we enjoyed our time on the island. The room was clean and cozy. There are very few rooms which made it quiet and relaxing unlike the other larger hotels. We will be staying here every year now!

I wish I could give 4 1/2 stars. I will definitely stay here again. It was incredibly clean and well maintained and the small courtyard grounds were beautiful. It's less a bed and breakfast than a very charming roadside motel, but it exactly fit my needs for a very reasonable price, for the island. It's all one floor so no stairs. I did take a star off since I had to go to their sister property to check in after schlepping my bags from the ferry, but it's not far, just an unexpected inconvenience. Also, a small chest under the TV (room 9) would have been nice to have another surface to spread things out. My room had individually controlled heat and air and outstanding bedding though fluffier pillows would be welcome. Location is only a short stroll from the Shepler's dock and convenient to everything. The people complaining about the noise (horses) obviously don't understand Mackinac! Not sure what a non covid-19 stay would have been like. Coffee, iced and hot water were available and I was told I could have breakfast and use the facilities at the sister property, but I didn't. I unhesitatingly recommend.

I found that I needed last minute lodging so I split my stay between Hart's and their sister property, Metivier Inn. Both were lovely. Hart's is the only motel style property on the island. Rooms, although small are very clean and comfy. There is a small front lawn where you can read and watch the world go by. A light breakfast is offered which you can enjoy on the lawn. Their staff was very friendly and helpful.

Having been to Mackinac Island many times, I’m very familiar with standard accommodations on the island. Many are B & Bs that offer a step back in time in an old home where you share space and time with many other couples around the property. Decided to try Hart’s as we wanted simple and convenient.||Hart’s is different. It’s small and it’s built like a small motel in an excellent location. Maybe 6 or 8 rooms so no schlepping luggage up stairs and down long hallways. All with A/C and TVs. We got a King room and it had everything we needed. Places for both suitcases. Nice bathroom with excellent shower pressure. Outdoors there are several tables on the lawn where you can watch the passing parade of bikes and horse carriages.||Breakfast was normal continental with muffins, cereals, juices, yogurts, etc. No complaints here.

This is a tremendous inn located at a great spot on the island. You walk out of the front of the property and look left to see a nice view of the lake. The rooms are very clean and well maintained. The breakfast was a great start to the morning. The inn keepers were fun and friendly. One of the best things about Hart's Inn is the outdoor seating area found in the courtyard. Staying here and you will not be dissapointed!

Yelp
Clean and simple place. It is nothing fancy and more for the budget traveler who just needs a place to sleep. It is one street over from the madness on the main drag. Plenty of tables and chairs in the garden area to relax. Friendly folks. Definitely worth a stay if you are checking out the island.

Yelp
It's been two months since our wonderful trip and overnight stay at Hart's Inn on Mackinac Island but I am still dreaming about it! What a beautiful, peaceful, relaxing, comfortable little inn! Just one street removed from the main drag, staying here means you'll have all the convenience of hanging near the action, but none of the noise and congestion. Granted, you have to walk up a small hill, but it is quite manageable, even after a night of pub-pedaling (like a pub crawl but on a bicycle!) Forget that fancy place with the big front porch, I love the far less expensive, cozy little red and white Hart's Inn! Making a reservation by phone was easy and checking in and out meant simply picking up and dropping off keys. The room was pristine, bright and cheery. We slept like logs in a very comfy bed with the in-room a/c set just where we like it. We took breakfast the next morning al fresco under one of the bright red umbrellas. The landscaping and lawn is colorful and lush. It was like eating in a garden. I loved the big white mugs filled with plenty of steaming, strong coffee. Pierre, the young on-site manager was very personable and helpful. He did a wonderful job of making sure all was in good order. After breakfast we took a bike ride around the island then checked out and left our bags with Pierre while we did a little more exploring. I love that Hart's Inn does not require a two night minimum stay. We wish it could have been longer but we only had one night available on our itinerary. Make sure to request a room that opens onto the lawn.

Yelp
Amazing service! We stayed at Hart's during our anniversary trip. Owen, the manager, was amazing. Great location close to everything but one block from the madness. Not crowded and great little outdoor space to read, enjoy coffee or just hang out. Looking forward to coming back!

Yelp
We have stayed here many times. I love the cozy feel of the location. You are just a block off main street so very close to all the fun tourist activities, food and shopping. But you are also just far enough to have it be quiet. They have a lovely outdoor area with tables to enjoy your breakfast at or just sit and enjoy the sun.

Yelp
A great deal for being high season. It was my husband and my first time on the island and we quickly realized that most places book up a year ahead of time or are very very expensive. Harts Haven had a wonderful location right off of the downtown and yet so close to everything! The price we paid we felt was very fair and the room was SO adorable! If you are looking for a B&B becasue you like sitting in the living area getting know other guests this may not be for you. If you are looking for a nice clean place with a great location this is a good choice. After having seen the island and staying for several nights we both agree that we would stay here again as one of our top choices. If you are staying here I would recommend taking the Star Line ferry over becasue Harts is just one street up from where they let you off. Excellent stay on Mackinac!

Yelp
Beautiful room with nice bath. Great location that's in the heart of town yet still very quiet. Pretty courtyard. Gracious host. Excellent pricing. Going back next year.

Yelp
We enjoy our annual stays at Harts Inn. The hosts are very warm and accommodating. The rooms are clean, comfortable and well maintained. The location is ideal. I highly recommend this place for your stay in Mackinac Island.
