Harvest Caye

Harvest Caye is a beautiful place and has a great beach. It is separated from Belize itself and so I felt like I was in a planned community and I guess I was. This island is owned by Norwegian. A good part of the island is privately owned and security guards protect that area from trespassers. I had lunch there instead of free on the ship and tried Belize’s salbutes, which is a common food and was delicious. It was like a tortilla with red cabbage, shredded chicken, queso fresco, pickled onions, some jalapeños, served with plantain chips. It cost $13. The jade museum had pictures of a timeline but was a jewelry shop. Likewise the chocolate factory which advertised tours really referred to their factory on the mainland, but you could taste samples of a large variety of chocolate. I loved the small animal park that featured a toucan and a very large green iguana among other animals. Two zip lines originated from a former lighthouse. What a thrill to “fly” so far! Harvest Caye was very nice.

Did not love! I have been to belize and it is truely unbelizeable. This thing is not Belize. It's NCL on land. I know they are catering to a primary US audience but could do it in a much more authentic manner. Went back to the boat for free drinks vs $32 for 2 drinks.... It was raining so that didn't support us staying on the beach but it wasn't a huge deterrent for us either.

This has the potential of being a really fun stop, but the cost of food and drinks ruined it for us. You were being offered the same menu as the boat but for $15-20 per item. Not at all appealing to us. As soon as lunchtime hit, we headed back to the boat for the rest of the time to enjoy the same food and drinks for free. Sand is coarse, so while playing volleyball was fun, it was also a little painful. Lol. Water was very murky. Pool was beautiful and huge. Kids splash park with slide looked fun. The butterfly garden was fun. Having been inland and to caye caulker in belize last year, this was disappointingly not even close to feeling like belize. Would have been nice to have authentic belize food and for belize cost.

We found Harvest Cay to be alluring, but there are some differences versus NCL's other Caribbean island, Great Stirrup Cay. Firstly, the east beach ocean water can be mucky and inhospitable, so traverse the island for the best beach experience. The central pool on the island is very enjoyable no matter what! Also, be aware that Harvest Cay is under the law of Belize, so any food or beverages must be paid for and are NOT included within your cruise package. Enjoy!

Very good cruise resort compared to others! Try the waverunners. Good price fir the quality and time.

Great resort and beach with really good service. The butterfly display was excellent. The only disappointing thing and it was pretty big, was that, as an NCL private island, I knew I had to pay, but was not made aware of the extra 30% charged on every order. 18% gratuity and 12% currency exchange. What the hell is that?

La isla privada de Norwigan es del tamaño de un resort con una bonita piscina. La gente que atiende es muy servicial. En el mar hay mucho sargazo.

Vale la pena parar al menos una vez en la vida en Harvest Caye, Belice. Ha sido un gran trabajo el que ha hecho la naviera Norwegian, no obstante, el sitio luce un tanto artificial. Eso sí, libre de vendedores ambulantes.
