Harvest Deli

Harvest Deli is the place full of character and the to go place for a lingering coffee and light breakfast. The gardens are beautiful where you can sit, growing produce for both their Deli and separate restaurant next door. We tried both places if you are looking for a place to unwind, chat or sit back listen to music the Deli has a great natural setting. They are dog friendly and you can chose seating on the wrap around verandas or be surrounded by trees and garden in the side and backyard area. Our morning cuppas were plantbased milk leaf chai and coffee latte plus shared a homemade vegan snickers bar. A little decadent chocolate treat paired perfectly with our hot beverages. There were lots of freshly baked buns, homemade pastries, and cakes. Pre-packaged muesli, selection of delicious rolls with fillings and local produce for sale.

Have a lovely experience here every time. The staff are so wonderful and the coffee, pastries and food wholesome and delicious. The surrounding gardens and airy deck make for a relaxing space to indulge in what ever you've chosen.

The lady who served me was pleasant but when I began asking if certain food items were dairy free she had no clue, then looked at the lady standing next to her with her head in her phone and the grumpiest look on her face asked if she knew of any items were dairy free, she didn’t ever look up or acknowledge me, just shook her head and struggled her shoulders. For obvious reasons I didn’t eat, the hot chocolate I asked for (dairy free) was delivered with dairy milk chocolate and full cream milk despite asking for dark chocolate and oat milk. Some things can be overlooked but bad customer service has become something of the norm in this country.

An extremely popular but random bakery near Byron Bay. I was surprised with the quality of their baked goods. Their hot cross buns were a 10/10. The mortadella focaccia could be much improved. It was too dense and dry.

Great spot for a coffee and house-made pasty. The gardens here are incredibly beautiful.

Extreme disappointment. Their social media advertise winter scones but we drive from the Gold Coast on a Friday and they said they have ent done any and don’t know when they will be baking scones again. The place has gone to pot!

Very cute deli/bakery. Amazing Almond Croissants! Yummy sandwiches. Cute atmosphere.

Tucked away off the highway in Newrybar, this cute little historical village houses one of the best kept culinary secrets. With amazing coffee, and a pork saddle I could make love to, lunch here on a summer's day is simply divine. Beautifully prepared food, sourced from local suppliers, you can really taste the difference. These aren't peas from a tin, but perfectly cooked garden fresh peas that burst with flavour. The street is full, the restaurant is busy, so I guess it's no secret after all. I've been meaning to come here for a while and am glad I made the trek. Check out the attached deli and bakery too if you have the time (make the time!)

The beautiful weatherboard cottage with big verandah and supersize windows set an airy and spacious scene. We loved the relaxed and laidback country vibe of Harvest. In a way Harvest is quite similar to Three Blue Ducks, the restaurant we dined in on previous night, as they both source the freshest and best ingredients locally. If you have decided to come here, you are expected to pay more than elsewhere because of the care and love they have put into sourcing these fresh ingredients. We thought the quality of the food these two restaurants have provided were very similar. We have enjoyed the oysters, fish of the day for two, which was barramundi, and the grilled pumpkin and fermented onions. Harvest is perhaps slightly more creative with their flavours. However, we received much more professional and attentive service from Harvest. Harvest is definitely worth the drive from Byron Bay if you are prepared to pay more.

A real foodie will travel for the best food there is, & thankfully for us, Harvest Cafe located in the historic town of Newrybar in the Byron Bay hinterland, about 20 mins south west of Byron Bay central, is more than worth it. It is a must-stop & must-do if you ever find yourself in the region. "Harvest" is actually composed of the cafe, a deli, & a bakery, across three restored buildings, & the property also includes a wonderful herb & vegetable garden, from which the cafe is able to use organic, fresh produce in all of the seasonal dishes that are created. The whole place just exudes quality & a country charm that one can fall in love with, & leave city-life behind. The Deli is stocked with local & international products, sauces, condiments, cacao chocolates, there's a cold room for it's boutique cheeses, aged meats, charcuterie, pastries, croissants, salted caramel donuts, many more, & our favourite Portuguese tarts. The Bakery is an open plan rustic affair, with the star attraction being the 103 year old woodfired oven from where Harvest's famous organic sour dough bread, baguettes & french pastries, supplying the cafe, the deli & specially selected local outlets, are produced fresh each morning. Like the Deli, the Bakery sells out of it's most popular items, & people line up early in the morning not to miss out. The Cafe was what we were there for & it absolutely hits a perfect note from the moment you step in. In addition to the beautiful country surrounds, you have the warm inviting tones of timber floors, comfy leather couches next to a fire place, copper industrial light shades, a sexy bar next to the open kitchen, & a wrap-around verandah that says, "take a load off, you deserve it". It's this perfect mix of casual sophistication. Staff were excellent, from start to finish, friendly & attentive, not over-bearing, & it's the small things we appreciated, like topping up our glass of water each time they walked by. Entree's ranged from $7 - $30, Mains from $29 - $85, Desserts $16, & their drinks list is extensive, with their own "harvest cocktails", as well as wines sourced locally & internationally. For entrees we ordered: (1) Ginger kingfish sashimi, avocado, fingerlime, seaweed and radish ($22) & (2) Warm corned beef, cucumber, cucamelon and feta ($22) The sashimi was light, & fresh, with the combination of all elements just divine! Similarly, delighted at the corned beef, with it's orchestra of flavours. For mains: (1) Braised beef brisket, bavette with pickles and smoked potato mayo ($35) & (2) Burrawong chicken, roast corn, spring onion and pearl barley ($35). Nothing more to say. You must try it, just delightful. And for the grand finale..dessert, we had the (Harvest's version of) "Cherry Ripe" ($16) & the Elderflower & blueberry parfait, white chocolate & macadamia ($16). Wow, absolute Wow. Perfect way to end an amazing time at Harvest Cafe. Will be back, & if it wasn't a 2 hour drive away, we'd be here regularly.

Seated outside on a vast veranda with views of lush green trees and the sounds of birds. We felt instantly at home in this beautiful country setting which is located just 20 minutes drive from Byron Bay in a town called Newrybar. The service is professional, warm and attentive. The menu is exciting with a mix of flavours and textures in every dish which will surprise and delight you. I had the roasted cauliflower with fennel, almonds and ricotta dumplings. The flavours were incredible. We had a side of steamed farmer's greens with hazelnuts which complimented the main perfectly. My fiancé had the pork which he proudly proclaimed was the best crackling he has ever had. The nectarines gave the dish a sweet flavour which balanced out the saltiness of the crackling. The coffee was excellent. I was so caught up in the food I forgot to ask what type of coffee bean they use. The Harvest focus their energy on being sustainable and use fresh, local and seasonal produce. They even have their own vegetable garden on site. The Harvest Café provides a delightful dining experience and is open for breakfast and lunch 7 days a week. If you're wanting to go for dinner it will have to be on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday night. We are already planning our next trip back to Byron Bay with a meal at Harvest Café at the top of our to do list.

If I was to create a cafe this is how I would do it. This is one of my favourite places to eat, sit, read and enjoy life! Tucked away in the tiny country town of Newrybar, it is a culinary jewel in a unassuming setting. Everything about this place is understated, natural, timeless and packed with quality. From the rustic and chic historic wood cottage with its spacious and sunlight filled verandah, to the big bowls of limes on the tables, and the piles of in-house baked croissants and pain chocolat you are greeted with when you walk in the door in the morning. The service is efficient, friendly and down to earth, the way it should be everywhere. The dishes look deceivingly simple but they are cooked to perfection using local ingredients. I have been here twice for breakfast and had to order the same thing each time because I loved it so much! House cured dill and juniper gravlax with avocado and poached organic eggs on toasted sourdough. Magnifique! The coffee is also excellent, even though I drink decaf and with soy (Yes, yes, I know what you are thinking "What is the point??, that's just a coffee flavoured beverage") they know how to do it properly and put little love hearts in it. If you find yourself coming down to Byron Bay, travel 15 mins down the road...this is a place you must experience for breakfast, lunch or dinner. It's open 7 days.

Gorgeous setting for a wonderful meal made so fresh. From the crusty sourdough bread they make there in the historic old oven to a crisp fresh salad (Cos with egg) to the shared Chicken entree, each bite was exceptional. Service excellent too, so 5 stars is easy here. Loved dining on the veranda enjoying the breeze and plants that surround the area.

Harvest is a special place, and became a favorite during my trip to Byron Bay. I came to Newrybar for two lunches and one, spectacular, five course/wine-paired dinner. Each dish is unique at Harvest - I loved the effort they have made to utilize natural ingredients that are unique to the area and add flavors I've never experienced before. The friendly staff took the time to explain this and provided me with a special booklet that gave special insight to the ingredients used. I specifically loved the oysters, ceviche, and the beef cheek! The atmosphere of Harvest is lovely - a wrap-around porch, leather chairs next to the fire, and cozy lighting makes it the perfect place for both a large group or a solo hungry backpacker. Be sure to grab a coffee and check out the bakery next door after your meal! Shout out to Kelsey, Moira, Sam, and Alastair for their lovely service!

The macadamia smoked trout was superb. I quite like how they have a diy, in house sort of vibe. The only reason i haven't given harvest a 5th star is because when i took my mother there, her breakfast came with bread which was not listed on the menu (she is gluten intolerant). It was then sent back to be replaced with Gluten free bread which takes longer and meant she started eating after I had finished our i let my food go cold waiting for hers. It was a small inconvenience, but the morning was pleasant overall. Would recommend.

One of my national favourites......there is so much to like about this wonderful place. Well I will come just for the food? Yes, however the other stand out for us is the wonderful people who work at this restaurant. That are genuinely nice, they are authentic and really knowledgeable. Of course they are working with wonderful product .... the food is a step above and this place is set in the rustic charm of Newrybar village. The infrastructure is appealing, functional and comfortable, and all interrelated. There is the restaurant, and just a few steps away is the bakery....so yummy, and then when you have done the bakery you can go to the Deli were there are many tasty delights - the chheese and meat rooms are well worth a look. This is probably our tenth visit and always so good. It is always consistent. Today five of us lashed out for brunch and truly enjoyed everything. Whether it was the French Toast, the Fruit and Nut toast, the smoked Trout and eggs, the mushrooms and whatever it was so delicious. The juices too are great and the coffee always good. When we are in the Byron area this is the first 'must go to' venue.

We stopped by for a quick lunch. Yummy pate and veggie dip, its just perfect! Made me want to sit down for a proper lunch/dinner here! The stuff in the deli store next door are just amazing.

Where to begin? In the northeast corner of New South Wales you'll find Harvest Cafe & Deli. Some of the best, freshest, most delicious bites to be had in the area. Came in for lunch and ate nothing but fish. The two specials were a spanish mackerel and a fish and chips. Both fantastic, the former was served on a bed of spicy quinoa and had a dollop of baba ghanoush on top. Ever eat lunch and it being so good and satisfying (not heavy and really tasty) that you don't eat dinner. That is here.

The moment we walked into Harvest we knew we were in for a treat. We were seated on the picturesque balcony under a magnificent jacaranda. The menu was concise but spectacular, showcasing local and native produce that actually required its own booklet to explain the foraged selection. We were spoilt for choice but eventually decided on the prawns, the beans, the celeriac and the chat potatoes. The menu is seasonal so these might not always be present, but they were all incredible. Even the woodfired sourdough with wattleseed butter was amazing, and we ended up asking for more to scoop up the delicious sauce that came with the prawns. It would be impossible to describe every aspect of each dish, but we can attest to the fact that they all displayed a complexity and balance of flavour you don't often find. After dinner, we also feasted on the chocolate mousse dessert, which in itself was spectacular. We were pleased to have the staff patiently explain each ingredient and their service was impeccable. For the gourmet dining experience we received it was also fairly reasonably priced. We would LOVE to go back!

Every time we go there we vow not to come back! Service is terrible- after 20 minutes of waiting for menu and going inside to ask for it they tell you to sit down only to end up waiting even longer. Food is ok very overpriced for what you get!! I am a foodie and a local so it's a shame it's been such a disappointment EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The food really was amazing here! I'm bummed that we only came here once. I would have wanted to try their other dishes...next time I'm back in the Clunes area. The outdoor seating was great and the store had some great options to purchase.

I came for the cheese and was not disappointed. Harvest is located in the historic town of Newrybar in the Byron hinterlands. Harvest has a wonderful selection of cheeses which can be viewed in their temperature controlled cheese room, they also have a selection of cured meats and their sourdough is apparently great as it was all sold out by the time we got there.

If you love quality friendly service, fresh local produce complimented by an outstanding menu and an atmosphere you could only experience in a rural setting - then Harvest will tick all your boxes. This place lived up to all expectations & more. Can't wait to return with different friends so they can experience Harvest first-hand.

Probably best to give this cafe a miss and go to a cafe that values your custom. They had absolutely no interest in us. We left without being served. Went into Byron Bay to Twisted Sista cafe who were absolutely lovely!!

Can I just say,ummmm nom nom nom. The muffins....stellar. The coffee......stellar The scones....beautiful. The service, absolutely wonderful. This is one of those hipster places where staff could be a bit, you know, above it all. But, no, not at Harvest. They were excellant and what I expect. Price wise, well, it fits the markets of touristy eateries. Little bit expensive for every dare fare, but quite a special place.

Wonderfully attentive staff and beautiful food. What a lovely little gem to find buried away in the northern rivers hinterlands. I had the salmon with the spiced corn cakes and it was just divine! Will definitely go back again and I would highly recommend it to anybody who is either a local or just happens to be passing by :)

Rang and left our number early in the week to place a reservation ..... Still waiting for the call back ! Our other party rang several days after our call to follow up and was told the restaurant was booked out for a function .

Not many vegetarian options, a good note for those who don't like their greens. They didn't offer an alternative main, that is ok, but it would have received higher stars if it did. The zucchini flower starter was pretty amazingly presented. I am not a huge fan of goats cheese, but for those who are , you would love this dish. I would go back again if they offered a vego main and not feel liked a hassle for coming off the street and not having a reservation. So note, have a reservation just to bi-pass the awkwardness. The cafe is really lovely though and has a relaxing environment.

Beautiful setting for an evening meal - think wrap around balcony lit with candles. Attentive relaxed staff & food fresh and gorgeous. Will certainly return to the cafe & deli with visitors ...
