We had our wedding in Harvey’s Point in October and everything about it exceeded our expectations. About half our guests traveling from the US and the others travelled from about an hour away in Ireland but all of them were blown away by the hotel rooms, food and wedding itself! The rooms and facilities are outstanding but I cannot recommend the staff more. Planning a large wedding from New York was made much easier by Samantha & Molly who were there to answer all emails and zooms timely and effectively. The day of I had no worries as they sorted absolutely everything out for us! Many of our guests have said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. Harvey’s point exceeding our expectations in every category and we highly recommend!

I would like to sincerely thank all the staff at Harvey’s Point Hotel, from the restaurant manager to the serving staff and chefs, for providing one of the best Christmas dinner experiences we have ever had. The customer service was exemplary, with a warm welcome, outstanding accessibility, and genuine autism inclusion throughout our visit. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone seeking an exceptional customer experience, wonderful staff, and fabulous food, all delivered with true empathy and inclusivity.

We recently celebrated our wedding in Harvey’s Point. From start to finish we couldn’t have been better looked after by Molly and Samantha. We can see why Molly is nominated for wedding coordinator of the year this year. If she doesn’t win this now would be an injustice. She greeted us with the warmest of welcomes and made everything feel so at ease. We couldn’t thank Molly and Samantha more for their incredible work. Not to mention the rest of the team and those who work behind the scenes on the day. The service was nothing short of spectacular. We received such high praise from all our guests who were just as blown away as we were, and were already talking about their next return. ||We couldn’t recommend Harveys Point enough for both a stay and a day as significant as your wedding. Thank you again from the bottom of our heart for the care and attention taken with all aspects of the wedding, and we look forward to returning on our 1 year anniversary. Emma and Gavin

We've been going to Castle Lough Eske for a few years now and knew about Harveys Point, but just never been. Mostly because they don't have a Spa - my wife's requirement for a 'good' hotel. BUT. This was a super stay. They had weddings on 3 days in a row and it never spilled over into the hotel. The round bar is amazing and the view across the lake from the dining room is absolutely gorgeous. AND they have a fabulous little 'mindful walk' in the forest on the lake edge. Absolutely relaxing and peaceful. The service was excellent and the breakfast was full on - must admit I totally stuffed my face... The staff seem to have been there for ages. The mark of a place where even the staff are happy to be there. I'm absolutely going back again.

We had a lovely stay at Harvey’s Point for a wedding. The staff were warm and welcoming, the breakfast was excellent, and the grounds were absolutely stunning. It was truly a perfect immersion in nature. We only had a short visit this time given our commitments, but it was enough to know we need to come back to enjoy it even more.

Simply Outstanding! Our stay at Harvey’s Point was absolutely perfect from start to finish. The location by Lough Eske is stunning — peaceful, scenic, and truly relaxing. The rooms are huge, luxurious, and beautifully designed, with every comfort you could imagine. The staff were exceptional — warm, genuine, and always going the extra mile to make us feel at home. Dinner in the restaurant was superb, with excellent food and top-class service. Breakfast was also a highlight — delicious, fresh, and served with a smile. Harvey’s Point has that rare mix of elegance and genuine Irish hospitality. It’s one of the best hotels we’ve ever stayed in, and we can’t wait to return. Highly recommended!

Harvey's Point never disappoints. My husband and I returned to this amazing hotel this week as a Birthday treat and to attend the Phil Coulter Caberet. We requested a lake view room and had a lovely Birthday message and fabulous hand made chocolates waiting for us when we arrived. The rooms are spacious comfortable and the added luxuries of fresh milk and home made cookies are a nice touch. We enjoy the homely friendly ambience of this hotel and the food is always first class with a good choice on the menu. They have made some alterations and upgrades since we last stayed and are currently working on the landscaping outside. Harvey's Point is a special place as we have lovely memories of our daughters wedding reception and the many times we have stayed as a couple. Can't wait to return.|Thank you Harvey's point

I’ve been to Harvey’s so many times over the years, I’ve lost count and it’s mostly been a good experience. I booked for The Terrace Bar as it was for a special birthday, which I had told them about and had made a request. ||||It was so disappointing, firstly the request wasn’t actioned, never mind, I didn’t say anything as just wanted to enjoy the evening. But oh my goodness I have never known such miserable waiting staff, one girl wasn’t too bad but the other literally through my glass of wine at me, she was so unfriendly it was actually comical. She was reasonable however when it was bill / tip time. I’m not sure if she was just having a bad day……The food was great but there was absolutely no kind interaction from the staff that evening. The manager was doing the rounds, all smiles as he does but completely missed out our table and the one next to us. At this stage the damage was already done and I couldn’t see the point in complaining as we were already so disappointed. I would never book a special occasion here (having had many) again. Such a shame as it was a lovely friendly place. Definitely not what it was.

Yelp
The drive here from Portsalon in the dark on a snowy December morning was nothing short of spectacular. Dramatic Donegal scenery made even more stark and beautiful by the shiny white snow. I looked forward to the drive back. The hotel itself is in a fantastic location and the dining room overlooks a fjord type lake. Black water reflecting hotel lights and surrounding mountains. The breakfast was tops. Huge buffet with egg and omlete station. And additional a la carte selections. I had kippers with scrambled eggs followed by the full Irish. Delicious food, great coffee and wonderful service. Worth the 70 minute drive to get here.

Yelp
I can see why this was rated the hotel of the year! The rooms are beautiful, food is amazing, and the staff are wonderful!

Yelp
I can't do a proper review for this as we only stopped in for a cuppa tea and to check it out and have a stroll along lough Eske. The hotel is 80's Sheik at its best, but that's not to say it isn't glamorous. The décor is all dark woods and plush carpet and there are quirky little features all over. There a place (I think it was called) Isabelle's corner where all the walls are decorated by artwork by this lady Isabelle. They have an amazing looking wine cave, just off the bar, and the bar itself is awesome. Its Hexagon in shape with one whole wall taken up by an open fire/range. So we had a couple of cups of earl grey teas and sat on the veranda overlooking the lake. I have to say I will be thoroughly looking forward to staying here at some point in the near future.

Yelp
If you have a specific dietary requirement, i'd say stay in your car and keep on driving because you won't find much sustenance here. I came here as a vegetarian, the soup used chicken stock (the waitress had to go into the kitchen to find this out), and I was offered a stir fry which turned out to be an unpalatable undercooked mess of sticky rice, grated carrots and sliced onions drenched in a sickly sweet sauce. I managed three forkfuls. The management were "kind" enough to charge me for a children's portion even though it was clearly indigestible. Hotels need to modernise and consider a larger customer base than they've been used to in the past.

Yelp
This was an amazing dinner. Was prix fix for 59 euro for four courses. First served an amuse busche and then I had seared scallops in a white chocolate dUce with. Coconut foam. Sounds odd but wAs delicous. Followed by a lemon lime sorbet with baked pineapple and diced cucumber. Main course was beef filet with mushrooms and sides of polenta, brocolli and mashed potatoes. I chose the cheese course for dinner and it was delicous. Waiter told us that the chef had just returned from a competition for best restaurant hotel in Dublin and they had come in 2nd! Our room was also the deluxe size and was huge! Bedding is a bit tired but the view of the lake is wonderful

Yelp
It's a must go to! Loved it here! Went for a three course meal and it's always good to book a table a few days before hand. I sat at a wonder seat, which includes looking over the lake , it's amazing!! Food is delish

Yelp
Nestled right on the shore of the gorgeous Lough Eske, Harvey's Point Hotel is a visit to a slower, more relaxed and welcoming world. The Pluses: We stay four nights in a Deluxe room, which is easily the largest suite I have every stayed in. The King bed was very comfortable . The wardrobe area was spacious and provided more than enough room for our clothing. And bathroom was very well appointed, with both a shower and a very large whirlpool bath for two. Do not be taken aback by the local water. Though slightly brown in color, it was fine for drinking and was amazingly soft for skin and hair. There is a well-stocked mini bar along with complimentary tea/coffee, fruit and cookies. We especially appreciated the french press coffee carafe! There is also complimentary bottled water for those who prefer not to drink from the tap. The property is amazingly beautiful and has the warmth and class of a county manor. We spent one rainy afternoon in the communal Reading Room looking out over the lough, sitting in comfortable leather furniture with our books, tea and whiskey. A second day was spent hiking around Louch Eske enjoying the gorgeous views of the lough, hills, and sheep fields of Donegal. The beautiful bar with deep leather chairs and a peat-burning fireplace was a wonderful spot to chat about our day in the evenings. The staff at Harvey's was unfailingly cordial, friendly and welcoming. They assisted us in hiring a local driver for a day of touring, laundered some clothing which was returned quickly and in excellent condition, and were always happy to see to our comfort. Areas to Improve: In the otherwise amazing bathroom, the lack of an electrical outlet near a mirror was a bit of an annoyance. The vanity has shaver outlets, but there was no place to plug in a curling iron for my hair. The dining at Harvey's was an interesting mix of wonderful flavors from well prepared food presented in an overly fussy and dated manner. The over use of foams, sauce-dotted plates and unidentifiable garnishes was a distraction from the very satisfying flavors. We found the more casually presented breakfasts and lunch menus to be more visually pleasing then the dinner menu. We reserved a table at for the Cabaret Night, a weekly dinner/cabaret show that draws locals and tour groups as well as guests at the hotel. The buffet dinner was excellent and the staff service during it was outstanding. Unfortunately our enjoyment of the evening was derailed by two issues. We were informed during the show that the big draw of the evening (and the primary reason we came to the Cabaret) SephirA was not performing that night. Finding out that way right in the middle of the evening was very disappointing and left us feeling as if we had been mislead. We undoubtedly would have still attended if we had been informed of the replacement act before time, so the unpleasant surprise seemed unnecessary. Also, parts of the audience were less then well-mannered. There were two tables around ours where the guests were talking loudly through out the performance without any awareness of their rudeness. We left early as they continued to get louder. Having said that, we would return to Harvey's in a heart beat. The experience of the hotel itself ... the smell of peat burning in fireplaces, the peaceful serenity of the property, the comfort and luxury of the rooms ... are not to be missed.

Yelp
Cannot say enough praise for this place! Amazing, tranquil views from the lakeside suite balcony! Michelle at reception was exceptional in her service! I've never experienced such genuine and thoughtful caring for our comfort and enjoyment. We're Hilton vacation club owners and have always enjoyed our experience there, but Hilton ought to study Harvey's Point! Exceptional!!! The food? Omg!!!!!!! To die for! Absolutely gorgeous!

Yelp
Been here twice. Love this place. Sean the bellman is a huge asset and made our stay even better. Got the 800 sq ft executive suite at a bargain price of only 350 euro a night. The penthouse suite is a deal, at 1700 + sq feet is incredible. If you go up towards Donegal then you need to stay here!

Yelp
There are not enough words to describe how wonderful this Hotel is. I will make it a point to stay at this hotel EVERY time I go to Ireland! As a matter of fact, we are going to plan a trip entirely around staying here for the whole two weeks of our vacation next time. Harvey's point is Pure Luxury at an affordable price. Our executive room was larger than any hotel room we've ever had in the States. Beautifully appointed, comfortable and elegant - if I hadn't wanted to explore all the wonders of Donegal, I would never have left our room. The complimentary breakfast is bountiful and delicious! The tranquil setting is salve for the soul with beautiful views of Loche Eske and there are walks and hikes to take right from this amazing property. Donegal town with its access to great trad music is a must and only a very short drive or cab ride away. The owner Deidre is amazing, absolutely amazing. Bringing everything about Harvey's Point to a higher level with grace and charm, a great work ethic and a relationship with her employees that create a professional and convivial atmosphere. Harvey's Point epitomizes everything we love about Ireland!

Yelp
Terrific hotel and restaurant. Held my daughter's wedding reception here, and though remote, it is in a beautiful location. HUGE and comfortable rooms. Excellent staff. Fantastic food and wedding planning. They handled dietary restrictions (vegan, coeliac) beautifully. Highly recommend!!!

Yelp
Beautiful Hotel just outside Donegal. Pet friendly. Stayed in a deluxe room which was MASSIVE! Jacuzzi in bathroom. Staff friendly. Relaxing atmosphere. On a down side the bar food although tasty was very sparce on the size of the portions. Asked for traditional fish and chips. Fish was barely bigger than a fish finger. One other negative would be that I believe it is overpriced.
