All the 1 star reviews are bs. This place reminds me of breakfast in Jordan. It was nothing short of amazing. Every bite was incredibly delicious. I normally order Arab breakfast from the Nile in Bridgeview but they fell off badly. Thank you guys for this quality food. Please don’t change anything about it!

Some of the best middle eastern food I've ever had. The fried cheese is fantastic, hummus is delicious, and falafel the best I've ever had. Server was attentive and welcoming, and when we asked he shared the global history of Hashem and told us about Amman, Jordan where the restaurant was founded.

Everything tasted great, but the best thing was the chicken liver was really good, service was great, friendly staff.

Great tasting humus, falafel and tomato dish. The service was friendly and professional, and the manager checked on my table a couple of times. Will be coming back. The food and service is amazing.

So after trying the original Hashem in Jordan, we decided on visiting this location. The wait was short, staff was very welcoming and quick and the food was very good. We love the humus and the mint tea. Highly recommend!

We tried regular hummus, hummus with chicken liver, regular fool, regular falafel and stuffed falafel. Everything was yummy except the chicken liver wasn’t as we expected. The falafel was delicious small and crispy from outside and soft inside. The stuffed falafel is highly recommended!

Yelp
This restaurant has permanently closed at this location. Signs of the times. However, there many great other middle eastern restaurants in the area.

Yelp
Upon walking in, there wasn't anyone to greet us nor can we see anyone working. We sat ourselves down. No menu, so we had to scan a QR code. While I was waiting for someone to show up to greet us or ask us about ordering, I went to the bathroom... I wish I didn't go. Filthy bathroom. I came back to the table and still haven't heard from anyone. So a total of 15 minutes passed and no one came to take our order. No wonder this establishment is empty. There's no service. No hygiene. Food was decent not all that. They people who took our order were wearing messy clothes and had an attitude. I'll never recommend this place to anyone. Smh

Yelp
I was excited when this place opened up since I have been to the original one overseas. The service was great that's why they are getting two stars. However, the food is lacking. I have tried their food for breakfast. It was mediocre food. Although, their hummus is good. I went there for dinner on this occasion since they introduced shawarma in their menu now. We ordered two lamb shawarma platters that were $20 each. Hardly, any meat was included in the platter. Platters consist of one entree option and 3 sides My guest who usually loves this type of food was disappointed with their food. She only ate a bit. The meat was dry and hard. I don't recommend it. My kids couldn't eat it. The yellow rice was delicious. The Arabic salad and Jerusalem salad didn't taste very fresh.

Yelp
Visiting from California and was told that it's a replica of Hashems restaurant in Jordan, and it was!!! First of all the service was 5/5, the lady that helped me was very polite, knowledgeable and helpful when it came to what I wanted to try. Then the food came and it was DELICIOUS! Just like back home! The owner Rami was also nice and so respectful and welcoming and made it feel like back home. Will definitely be here again!

Yelp
Hashem is one of my favorite places in the country to eat. I travel all over the country for a living and you can not come across more authentic and tasty food as you can here. The ingredients are fresh but what really stood out to me was how incredibly friendly the staff is. They treat every customer like family which means the world. I HIGHLY recommend everyone try this place at once. I know I will forever be a loyal customer.

Yelp
Was a little hesitant reading the negative reviews. If you notice, the negative reviews were left by people who never wrote a review but just want to leave a bad review because they "waited" and were not seated immediately. Good Restaurants always have a wait time. Also, the restaurant is new. There's always going to be little hiccups in the beginning. Now that that's out of the way, let's review. Food was amazing!! Place is clean, staff was super friendly and the manager/owner came to our table and talked with us a little. They trained the cooks at the original location in Amman Jordan so the consistency is there. When you have a great restaurant the owner/manager is always on site and involved. Just like their sister location in Amman. You can taste the fresh ingredients and combine that with the passion of the cooks and management you get fantastic food!!! I will definitely be visiting again. Next time with more family members.

Yelp
it has a good but limited menu of Great mediterranean food like hummus, hummus with beef, falafel, babghanouj (eggplant dip), hummus with chicken. fava bean dips, falafel sandwiches and an egg based fried dish with tomatoes and beef or chicken called Qallayeh skillets. Ask tasty but no lamb. About 15 tables with lots of room and great service

Yelp
I love this place! The food is amazing! So fresh and well prepared, I have tried anything I haven't loved (Fatteh with meat & almonds, falafel, Al-Shaba sandwich with beans & falafel, spiced Mtabbal). Equally amazing are the staff. Had such a nice conversation while my food was being prepared, there's nothing better than supporting locally-owned businesses that do things right and have great people!

Yelp
This place has nothing to do with the original Hashem restaurant accept for the name and decorations. I Ordered feta which came with rock hard bread and tasted horrible. Never brought water to the table . The bread was microwaved and the service was ridiculous. Sad to see the destruction of the name (Hashem).

Ammar H.

Yelp
I tried lunch at the bridgeview location. Food is overall good. A few problems: They serve food in tiny plastic spoons. A metal spoon or a bigger plastic spoon would be much better. They don't routinely serve water (force you to buy a bottle). They don't serve pickles which goes well with many mideastern dishes. Service is mediocre.

Yelp
Loved trying a new type of middle eastern food. Great service, very friendly. Also, very reasonably priced. Lots of options for vegetarians.

Leila M.

Yelp
The server was less than hospitable. We were referred to QR code for the menu as she claimed they had none printed. We left without ordering when we found it difficult to read the menu on our phones and the waitress was disinterested in our needs.

Yelp
The food and service were great! We stopped in this morning for breakfast and they definitely won my family's vote!! Hummus, filafil, fresh pita bread, salads...everything was on point!!

Yelp
I do not advise anyone to go to this place for the second time we take an order and the hummus has an unpleasant smell and bad taste and everything related to hummus and high prices it is a bad experience

Baha J.

Yelp
Food was wonderful. My order was ready within mins. Service was great! You will enjoy it! Thanks

Malek Q.

Yelp
First off the wait was ridiculous. You basically seat yourself because there is no one to help you. Once someone finally comes to take your order it takes over 40 min to get your food. The food quality is nothing like what I excepted it is very dry and nothing like the original Hashem. They bring out your tea and bread before the food so once your food comes the tea is cold and bread is dried out. I heard this problem throughout the restaurant on all tables around me. Just overall it takes a ridiculous amount of time to get any of the staffs attention for the check, for the food, for anything basically.

Yelp
Very personable staff. The food was authentic and excellent. Their falafel reminded me of Falafel Inc in Washington DC. Really fresh and tasty! 5 stars

H C.

Yelp
They don't even deserve a star. The place is dirty, the vegetable condiments which you have to pay for too, are old. They have no clue what freshness means. For the fava beans (fool) they obviously used precooked canned beans. The oil used to fry the falafel is old. Went there because of the reputation of the one in Amman supposed to be good. But after this visit I won't be visiting either of them. Avoid them like the plague.

Suzan S.

Yelp
The food was great very tasty and the falafel reminded me with Amman the service was great for sure I will go back

Meriam J.

Yelp
Great Hummus. Falafel was delicious. Halait meat and tomatoes was very spicy. Batata ua Beid was good. Fatat hummus was okay. It's a blessing to have this in our area The service was pretty good. For all the bad reviews I tell you this is a well known name in Aman and let's give them a chance to get better. They have the tools. I'm wishing them the best of luck!!!

Rawaan A.

Yelp
Very disappointed with my experience here. Honestly waited 45 minutes for two sandwiches for the falafel to be cold and french fries to be soggy. Definitely not comparable the hashem in jordan, have tried much better sandwiches in the area. Also the service was terrible, workers are lazy and management does not do a good job maintaining a good flow. I would give it zero stars if possible. Would not recommend.

Ally K.

Yelp
Hashem is just delicious. We needed something like this in the Orland area. Try it out, won't regret it.

Yelp
the food was great, it test the same back home, service could've been better, delayed on the food orders,i guess they are new so good luck.

Mohamed A.

Yelp
it has nothing to do with the famous Hashem restaurant in Amman Jordan. The service is low, the food is below the average and the management is poor. I hope they will improve their service and food immediately.

Mary H.

Yelp
We're from California and my cousin brought us here to have authentic Arabic food. They not only made us feel like family, their food tasted just like our moms cooking. Will be coming again!

Nifouz A.

Yelp
Amazing food, amazing service !! We were sat down right away on a busy Sunday during lunch time. We were constantly asked if we needed anything and how the food was. The food was filled with so much flavor and extremely clean environment. Will be a regular for sure !!

Juliana U.

Yelp
we ordered the foul and fettah with almonds. idk what i got but that was not it. if you are looking for authentic middle eastern food. keep searching!
