"While some mosques are limited exclusively to Muslim worshippers, many others allow modestly-dressed visitors for tours between prayers, like the Hassan II Mosque in Morocco."

Absolutely amazing to see from both the interior and exterior. The inside is full of very intricate wood and stone carvings while the outside is absolutely jaw-dropping to look at. It can be seen from much if Casablanca and is lit up at night. The best place to get a view of the mosque is near the lighthouse. I also highly recommend that you tour the inside. It is cheap and much worth it.

Wow Wow Wow The most beautiful building I have ever been in. How can that even be imagined, let alone created? Loved the washing area underneath too. Photos do not capture the entirety of the design. I am so glad I visited. Staff at ticket desk very polite. I arrived for the 10am tour, with a few minutes to see in the museum beforehand. There is a hammamm there....I wish I'd have known, I would have tried it.

The Hassan II Mosque is truly an awe-inspiring site, remarkable in every sense—from its breathtaking architecture and intricate craftsmanship to its impressive engineering. As one of the few mosques in the world open to non-Muslims, and the only one in Morocco, visiting offers a rare and enriching cultural experience. I highly recommend taking a guided tour to fully appreciate the vision, effort, and artistry that went into creating this architectural gem. The stories behind its construction add so much depth to the visit. We also opted for the skip-the-line tickets, which proved to be a great decision, especially since the crowds can vary depending on the day. An unforgettable highlight and a must-see while in Casablanca!

My jaw was on the floor during my time visiting this mosque. It's very impressive. Is there a word more than magnificent? The sheer size of the mosque and the surrounding complex, the dramatic ocean in the background, the colorful mosaic on the wall and on the floor, the elegant chandelier, and that's not even the best part. The best part, to me, is how serene the mosque is. There were many guided big group tours inside the mosque, but I can hardly hear anything. Even with all those people inside, the mosque is still quiet and peaceful. If I live in Casablanca, I can see myself coming to this mosque if I need some quiet time to get some break from the world.

Absolutely worth every penny - the mosque is impressive in its architectural wonder and for its intricate carvings and beautiful tiles. The building is enormous and it will take you over an hour to appreciate both the ground level and the level below. The washing areas are impressive with the marble fountains and tiles. Upstairs every column and woodwork beam is intricately carved. I have been fortunate to visit countless mosques, abbeys and cathedrals and this one blew my mind. It did not have the historic serenity and sentiment, but it did have the atmospheric presence and the location on the headland adds to its very ominous stature.

The most beautiful mosque in Morocco hands down and in the top most in the world. The architecture and the scale at which it is built is absolutely stunning. The Pillars inside are so huge and ceilings and domes above so massive, makes you speechless and puts you in absolute awe! The domes and artwork is stunning with intricate carvings. Visiting once during the day is just 1 part of the experience, a whole new and better awaits you at night when this wonder is lit. Entry is MAD170.0 and the tickets are sold in the Museum just beside, which whoever can be saved if you are a worshipper and enter it for prayers at any slated time of the 5 prayers. Praying inside is quite peaceful though, personally I feel there are more peaceful mosques in Morocco.

The jewel in the crown of Casablanca (and pretty much the only place of interest in this city), the Hassan II Mosque is a marvel of architecture, with the second tallest minaret in the world. Viewings inside of the mosque are strictly done by their appointed times and photography is generally not allowed, but what you'll see inside is a sprawling wondrous display of grand architecture that will simply take your breath away. As far as I know this is the only Mosque that non-Muslims are not allowed to enter (aside from the aforementioned tour) but outside also affords some stunning photo opportunities with the minaret and the signature Moroccan display of colour all around you - not to mention the seafront nearby. If you're in Casablanca, be sure to book tickets and drop by here.

There may not be a long list of tourist spots in Casablanca, but the Hassan II Mosque alone makes the city worth a visit. It’s the largest mosque in Morocco and one of the biggest in the world—an absolutely breathtaking structure that dominates the city’s skyline. I stayed at the Kenzi Tower Hotel and had an incredible view of it from my room. If you’re planning to visit, definitely set aside at least 3–4 hours to tour the interior as well. You don’t need to be Muslim to enter, but they only offer limited visiting slots, so plan ahead. The inside is stunning—a beautiful blend of architectural influences that feels like a mix of a mosque, church, and synagogue. It’s peaceful, spiritual, and visually stunning. Truly a must-see if you’re in Morocco, and a great reason to spend at least a day in Casablanca.
