Hatari Lodge (Inside Arusha National Park)

Absolutely fabulous! The room was spacious, luxurious and very comfortable, the grounds beautifully maintained, and the lodge has an extraordinary ambiance of peace, with its spectacular view of a large meadow full of grass-eaters. We saw many giraffes, water buffalo, pumbas and zebras up close. We went for Christmas Eve, and the eight-course dinner was excellent. The menu consisted of Organic and indigenous foods, and was paired with delicious mocktails. The chef has been there for 20 years, and is worthy of a Michelin star for his creative culinary skills. The staff was so kind we felt like family! We really did not want to leave, and will highly recommend a stay at Hitari to all of our friends.

Hatari Lodge - our first stop during our trip to Tanzania. A legendary place where the film Hatari with John Wayne was filmed years ago. A unique atmosphere full of history. A place where the sense of hospitality is not in vain, the welcome is authentic, warm, under the leadership of Eli, the staff is very attentive and caring. The rooms are spacious with excellent bedding. The refined cuisine and the products come from their vegetable garden. And what can I say about their breathtaking view of the bush, it is enchanting. Gathering around the fire in absolute calm is a unique experience. I hope Eli that I spelled your name correctly. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for making our stay at Hatari a precious memory.

Very nice experience with an amazing location Located In the foothills of mount meru and Kilimandjaro this lodge is in Arusha Park. Staff were really nice and kind. I ll keep wonderful memories and hope to be back

From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and a deep sense of connection to the surrounding nature. The lodge itself is nestled right on the edge of Arusha National Park, offering breathtaking views of Mount Meru and access to wildlife quite literally outside your door. The accommodations were unique, beautifully styled with vintage safari charm, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail — from the cozy fireplace to the eco-conscious touches — made the space feel special and serene. What truly sets Hatari Lodge apart is the staff. The team went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and memorable. Meals were fresh, flavorful, and often enjoyed with giraffes or warthogs grazing nearby! We especially loved our morning visit to **Serval Wildlife Sanctuary**, which Hatari helped arrange, and the afternoon game drive in Arusha National Park where we spotted zebras, buffalo, flamingos, and so much more. If you're looking for a peaceful, soul-filling stay surrounded by nature and great people, Hatari Lodge is it. We’re so grateful for the experience and would return in a heartbeat. 🌍🦒✨

Looks good on paper - disappointed when I checked in and stayed 3 days at the hatari lodge. My room was dark no proper lighting (clearly a safety hazard) - no bar fridge or cold drinking water or fan let alone an AC. Lunch provided during the sightseeing safari was disguising - not fit for human consumption. The lady manager was nonchalant and made no effort to accommodate any of my concerns. Clearly lacked hospitality skills ! Never will I go back to this iconic lodge not worth the money I spent. Shop around and check reviews before making a decision on where to stay - but - stay clear of Hatari Lodge. Hope this helps!

Hatari Lodge exceeded our expectations. The rooms are beautiful with with a fire place and local artefacts. The lounge, bar and dining area is very comfortable. The bonus is the decking that runs out onto the plains where we watched a large herd of buffalo, giraffes and waterbuck.|The food was delicious and very tasty. The staff were very attentive especially Weston and Micah who were fun, helpful and explained about all the different fruit and vegetables that the Lodge uses. They are a great asset to Hatari Lodge.

We stayed for two nights. We arrived late in the evening and the friendly staff prepared a delicious soup for us. Staff was very friendly and the food delicious. The terrace offers a very nice view of a large plane right in front of it where you can see animals all day. The terrace also offers a great view of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. To fully appreciate the view you should bring good binoculars. The room was spacious and clean.

Me and my husband stayed here for one night on our honeymoon! One of our only regrets is not staying here longer. Hatari lodge was AMAZING!! The staff were so welcoming and the accommodations were beautiful and comfortable. Everyone staying at the lodge eats dinner together and it truly feels like a family atmosphere. The lookout point at the main area was amazing and we loved that a troop of monkeys joined us for breakfast! The only critique we had was that there wasn’t enough warm water to fill the tub. We’d definitely stay here again!!
