🌿 **Hatari Lodge – A Truly Magical Escape at the Foot of Mount Meru** 🌿 Our stay at Hatari Lodge was absolutely unforgettable — one of the true highlights of our time in Tanzania! From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with warmth, kindness, and a deep sense of connection to the surrounding nature. The lodge itself is nestled right on the edge of Arusha National Park, offering breathtaking views of Mount Meru and access to wildlife quite literally outside your door. The accommodations were unique, beautifully styled with vintage safari charm, and incredibly comfortable. Every detail — from the cozy fireplace to the eco-conscious touches — made the space feel special and serene. What truly sets Hatari Lodge apart is the staff. The team went above and beyond to make our stay smooth and memorable. Meals were fresh, flavorful, and often enjoyed with giraffes or warthogs grazing nearby! We especially loved our morning visit to **Serval Wildlife Sanctuary**, which Hatari helped arrange, and the afternoon game drive in Arusha National Park where we spotted zebras, buffalo, flamingos, and so much more. If you're looking for a peaceful, soul-filling stay surrounded by nature and great people, Hatari Lodge is it. We’re so grateful for the experience and would return in a heartbeat. 🌍🦒✨

Looks good on paper - disappointed when I checked in and stayed 3 days at the hatari lodge. My room was dark no proper lighting (clearly a safety hazard) - no bar fridge or cold drinking water or fan let alone an AC. Lunch provided during the sightseeing safari was disguising - not fit for human consumption. The lady manager was nonchalant and made no effort to accommodate any of my concerns. Clearly lacked hospitality skills ! Never will I go back to this iconic lodge not worth the money I spent. Shop around and check reviews before making a decision on where to stay - but - stay clear of Hatari Lodge. Hope this helps!

We stayed for two nights. We arrived late in the evening and the friendly staff prepared a delicious soup for us. Staff was very friendly and the food delicious. The terrace offers a very nice view of a large plane right in front of it where you can see animals all day. The terrace also offers a great view of Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. To fully appreciate the view you should bring good binoculars. The room was spacious and clean.

Hatari Lodge exceeded our expectations. The rooms are beautiful with with a fire place and local artefacts. The lounge, bar and dining area is very comfortable. The bonus is the decking that runs out onto the plains where we watched a large herd of buffalo, giraffes and waterbuck.|The food was delicious and very tasty. The staff were very attentive especially Weston and Micah who were fun, helpful and explained about all the different fruit and vegetables that the Lodge uses. They are a great asset to Hatari Lodge.

We stayed 2 nights at this lodge after arriving in Tanzania. Everything was great but there is a great potential to improve things to make the stay even better. The water pressure of the shower could be improved + the water in the shower is very difficult to mix. Either it's too cold or too hot. You waste a lot of water finding the right "point"... The floor of the shower is very slippery. Could be roughened up to prevent slipping/accidents. The room is very dark. There's just a few (and too dark) lamps. We had to use our flashlights to look for things in our suitcases. I normally love indirect, cozy, romantic lights, but this this was just too much "no light". Carpets where nice but a constant stumbling hazard so we just rolled them up and placed them on the side. We loved the chimney and the hot water bottles every night. Crew is fabulous. Sundowner on the special deck = ❤️ Food was very good. I recommend this place.

I was solo, but the staff were very attentive and made me feel welcome. Facilities are first class. The observation platform was where I spent most of my 2 days there, observing buffalo, warthogs, zebras, giraffes, and more! Would recommend.

Hatari is a good place to stay for day trips into Arusha National Park and a perfect starting point for safari newbies. The setting is colonial style and the resident wildlife is right there. The service good, the food average; the welcome bowl of hearty soup upon our midnight arrival was excellent as was the chicken dinner one evening. The rooms were nice, water hot enough with decent water pressure, however they were stuffy. This was alleviated by opening the windows but there are no screens so the possibility of monkeys or bats or bugs kept me awake. The credit card reader wasn’t working and declined all our cards, so bring cash.
