We dined at Hathaway last night as a group of eight, and sadly, the overall experience was disappointing — especially considering the bill was over $950.
We had a mix of the Business, Executive, and Autograph set dinners, and each time a dish was served, we had to repeatedly tell the server who ordered what. This happened with every course — it was frustrating, inefficient, and left us wondering how the service team was not briefed ahead.
On top of that, my main course was missed entirely. I had to wait much longer, and when it finally arrived, the rice was cold, the curry was lukewarm, and a side dish was missing. When the side eventually came, it was the only item that was actually hot. The kitchen seemed overwhelmed, and service was very slow overall.
We were also seated close to their semi-private dining area, which hosted another large group. The noise level was so high that we had to raise our voices just to talk amongst ourselves. It really impacted the mood, and I feel the restaurant could have placed us elsewhere — it didn’t feel like any consideration was given to the overall guest experience.
The food was decent, but certainly not remarkable. At this price point, we had expected a polished and smooth evening. Instead, poor service, long waits, cold dishes, and a noisy environment left us feeling let down.
I would not recommend Hathaway, especially for group dining or special occasions. Sadly, the service and atmosphere ruined what could have been a great dinner.
Would’ve rated 1 star, but giving 2 because the food wasn’t bad — just overshadowed by poor service.
