Hatteras Island Horseback Riding

Highly recommended! They brought two horses out to Hatteras beach and and they parked near the graveyard of the Atlantic museum. Two horses and three people. Had a great time. They were very nice. Very patient. Horses looked like they were very well taken care of and obviously loved by their owners and Their helper. They were also very respectful to the others on the beach that were sunbathing and fishing. Very knowledgeable about the area as well. I'm sure there are a lot of other options for people to call but this one stood out. Highly recommend. You will love em.

Highly recommend. Gus and Shadow were such great horses and they listened better than my kids do. My 6 and 10 year old loved the early morning ride. We can't wait to do it again!

Once in a lifetime experience. Gus and Shadow are calm and beautiful horses. Horses are great with children and adults. Beautiful white sand to ride horses on the beach!

My girls, ages 19 and 13, enjoyed the ride so much! My boyfriend and I walked behind them while they rode. Highly recommend and the owners are very friendly!

My friend and I rode Gus and Shadow for an early morning ride by the ocean in Hatteras Village. Our guides were waiting for us - all saddled up and ready to go. Gus and Shadow were both well behaved ( and obviously well fed😀) and easy to ride. Gus WAS looking for grass to eat but was easy enough to steer clear. Both horses enjoyed ear rubs after our ride and some carrots. The beach was gorgeous. Our guides took pictures and videos with our phones. Very tame horses- beautiful spot on the beach. Take your family for a great experience .

What a great experience! My daughter and I thought that the horses and they're owners were wonderful. It was so relaxing and though it was my daughter's first time on a horse and years for me since I'd riden, it was completely stress-free! We love Shadow and Gus. Jeff and I believe Carlos we're we're fantastic too. Worth the money for the full hour of fun.

A great experience---fun for both experienced and new riders! I went on a ride with my partner while vacationing in Hatteras and it was super fun. The staff was friendly and the horses were so calm and sweet. Definitely be sure to bring plenty of carrots!

My husband and I are vacationing in Hatteras, NC, and we decided to book an hour ride for just the two of us with Hatteras Island Horseback Riding. Jeff, Carlos and Susie (hope I spelled your names right!) were absolutely AMAZING!!! Super friendly, very welcoming, and their horses are SO kind and relaxed. I enjoyed riding on Gus, and my husband enjoyed his ride on Shadow :) We also enjoyed the conversations we had with Jeff and Carlos as they walked alongside us as we rode up and down the beach. Thank you Jeff and Carlos, not only for one SUPER FUN experience and ride, but also for taking photos of my husband and I along our ride. Much appreciated :) We’ll be back in the OBX again soon for another vacation in the near future, and we’ll for sure be booking a ride with Hatteras Island Horseback Riding when we return :)

We love to see Shadow and Gus every time we visit Frisco! Apparently I look similar to Gus's mama, so he follows me a lot and nudges/ nibbles my hands. He was the sweetest! The guys let us bring them carrots last time and we all hung out a bit. We can't wait to see them again next year!

We had such a wonderful time riding Gus and Shadow! Jeff was so patient and helpful with my kids riding, and then the adults got to ride too! The horses were beautiful and loved by all. It's an experience that we would highly recommend to anybody! Would love to do it again!

They were WONDERFUL! We had a great long ride up and down the beach- and im 6'2"215lbs. Call them!

Rude as F Review of Hatteras Island Horseback Riding Pending review Worse horseback trip ever. One horse was 20 years old and wouldn't walk. I started out wanting a romantic ride on the beach with my lady. Started out 2 guys in hoodies on a hot day meet us with 2 horses. We get on and start walking on the beach with a guide walking beside each horse. The person walking in front of my horse stayed on his cell phone talking. The other guy walked with my lady or stood beside her talking and not walking in from of the horse. I asked the guy walking my horse to wait on my girl to catch up I wanted a relaxing ride with her not by myself. So he waited. Then we took off again, within a few mins we were a few hundred feet ahead again, and then in no time we were so far head it was ridiculous. I again asked to wait on my girl as this is not a very romantic ride on the beach with her, and I wasn't enjoying riding alone. He said here I can help, put your foot over here and had me side off the horse. Then side the ride was over, Now were 1/4 to 1/2 mile away from my girl and he made me walk back to her, and made her get off and we had to walk back to were her shoes were left at the starting point. This is a very rude company and I do not recommend using them, even if Satan asked me who I would recommend, I would not tell him to use this company as he would send me to the same hell this ride turned out to be. They Sucked that bad. Is this a romantic place or activity that you would suggest for couples? Hell NO, not in this lifetime. If I want a strange dude talking up my woman I leave her in bar for a bit.

Great ride at the beach in Hatteras! It was the perfect way to celebrate our daughters birthday. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!

Hatteras island Horseback Riding was the perfect activity to close out our Cape Hatteras wedding experience! These guys were flexible with scheduling and easy to find at our scheduled appointment time. They were very clear with instructions and the horses were pleasant and easy-going. During the ride they even offered to take pictures for us! I highly recommend for people of all ages and skill levels. Don't forget the carrots!
