Hattvika Lodge

We had a wonderful stay and were very well looked after by Kristian and his friendly team. We stayed in Norbua #4, a converted fisherman's cabin over the water, which was beautifully rustic, but warm, comfortable and well equipped (for those that prefer not to eat out). The room was not serviced, but for 3 nights that was not a problem and getting fresh towels, for example, was also not an issue. When we weren't out exploring we were sitting by the large windows or on the deck outside enjoying the scenery. Of course seeing the Northern Lights was an absolute highlight.||Breakfast every morning was in their restaurant, Fangst, next to floor-to -ceiling windows with amazing views of the sea and coastline. Twice we had fine-dining dinner in Fangst, and both meals were top class with a focus on local ingredients. Hattvika Lodge, Kristian and Team, and Lofoten did not disappoint, we will definitely visit again.

What a wonderful time we had - the lodge is great, people are super friendly and we had an amazing experience. Nicole was brilliant guiding us to the Northern Lights with some incredible pictures and experiences but also taking us on a day trip south to Reine and the fishing villages and surrounding areas - what an amazing place. Nicole was knowledgeable and super organised- made it effortless. The restaurant is truly great and Anais and the kitchen team created an amazing experience. We tried the 3 course meal and the incredible tasting menu and loved them both- 13 courses and all great!! We will be back

We had an amazing time at Hattvoka Lodge. We stayed in one of the two bedroom apartments. The rooms were modern yet kept their historical charm, like old wood floors that were refinished, sea related decor, and spacious whitewashed bathrooms, including heated floors. There is also a laundry room on the property which was appreciated given the length of our trip in Norway. The employees were all so friendly and helpful. Anna was great and helped ensure we had a nice welcome, showing us around the property. I saw reviews complaining about the views and the smell, but if you're staying in a fishing village that's what you should expect! It's part of the experience. The views were exactly what we wanted and expected: waking up to the water, the cod plant, and colorful boats. One thing to note: their check in is only 3-8pm. This was not in the listing when we booked through American Airlines, so please keep that in mind. Also make sure to book a dinner reservation at their restaurant, FANGST. It was one of my favorite dining experiences ever.

Possibly our favourite place in our 3-week Norway trip. We stayed in a Hillside Cabin and it was perfect. Large cabin, huge bathroom with heated floor, balcony, wonderful window seat, lovely view. Breakfast was a small selection of perfectly cooked options (really great scrambled eggs and seeded crackers I am missing, plus a divine piece of almond cake that appeared at the table like magic. Our 3 nights we ate at Fangst and loved it. The chef even talked through what my vegetarian options would be. We also did some activities and our guide, Nicola, was fantastic. Unexpectedly a real highlight was seaweed harvesting (sleet! Getting a dry-suit on! ). The next day in perfect, sunny weather, we sea kayaked through still, clear waters - breathtaking. You need to have a car and there are stunning drives. Loved staying here and are planning on a return visit.

Absolutely amazing experience and stay here. Kristian the owner, and the rest of the staff were extremely friendly, hospitable, and accommodating. They made my stay extremely pleasant with a seamless checkin, amazing food and amenities. I stayed in the hillside suites which were very beautifully designed. Heated floors in the bathroom, warm wood paneling in the main bedroom, and dimmers on most of the lighting to keep a nice cozy feel in the colder months. There is no TV, but I found myself only needing my iPad a little because I was more interested in the views and adventure. I will definitely return here again in the warmer months and longer days. Staying at Hattvika truly was an unforgettable trip. From the moment we arrived, everything felt thoughtful, calm, and beautifully considered. The location was perfect for what we needed — surrounded by natural beauty, with dramatic mountains, water, and countless incredible locations to explore.||We’re both filmmakers and chose Hattvika as the perfect base for our trip. We had a hire car, which made it easy to get around and explore more of the islands, and there were also plenty of beautiful spots to discover both within walking distance and by car.||There’s a shop just a five-minute walk away, but because we had a car we did a big food shop in Leknes to stock up for the week, as we were hiking and filming most days. We stayed in one of the fisherman’s cottages, which was extremely spacious and had everything we needed. The kitchen was fully equipped so we could cook our own meals, and upstairs had an incredible view over the water — perfect for watching the sunrise with a morning coffee.||The food at Fangst was delicious, and breakfast each morning was fantastic. There were so many options, which kept us well fuelled for long days out, and the staff were lovely and very knowledgeable.||The team were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay, always happy to share local tips and make sure everything ran smoothly. We asked for recommendations for local hikes and a spot where we could light a fire and roast marshmallows, and they suggested an amazing location. I’d definitely encourage anyone staying to ask the team for recommendations — they really do have great local knowledge.||We were also lucky enough to see the Northern Lights multiple times during our stay, right from Hattvika itself. If you’re looking for a unique place to stay in Lofoten, I couldn’t recommend Hattvika enough. A huge thank you to the team for welcoming us and taking such great care of us during our stay.

We came to The Lofoten Islands on a girls’ trip and were so excited to see some Northern lights! Through a recommendation from a travel company called Up Norway, we found Hattvika Lodge and stayed in a lovely little fisherman’s cabin. We have LOVED our experience at Hattvika Lodge! We were unable to do the Arctic surfing and the sea Kayaking due to overly windy days, but we had an absolutely fantastic guide, Roland, who offered numerous alternative fun activities, took us to lovely coffee stops after some adventuring, and whom we peppered with questions about Norwegian ways, astrophysics, travel adventures, and perspectives on life! We loved the Finnish Sauna experience and jumped off the dock multiple times! We enjoyed an amazing 3 course dinner and multiple wonderful breakfast buffets at the lodge! All the staff were super friendly and so helpful!! We deeply enjoyed visiting with everyone we met!! We would 20 out of 10 recommend Hattvika to anyone wanting a lovely, friendly place to stay with wonderful food, while in the Lofoten islands! We even got to see a Moose and baby with Roland!

Thank you for the most amazing stay!! I love this place, it has beautiful scenery, lovely staff and the service is excellent from start to end. The cabins are supercozy with high standards, with authentic decoration. The food is great too, a 10/10 in every ways. I really found my peace, no doubt I will be back soon☺️
