This gem is fabulous for teachers on a budget! Private room that is cozy and clean! Loved we could open the windows!The bathrooms are impeccably clean- the shower pressure incredible!Communication from Elena and the website information was very helpful!!There is a kitchen with tons of room for your items, fridge and freezer marked for each room. We will be back!

This is not such a good place to stay. When we arrived, the room wasn’t even ready, which was very disappointing after a long trip. The common bathroom wasn’t very clean, and the place overall felt unorganized. Definitely not somewhere I’d stay again.

I stayed here for 2 nights Feb 2024 and I wish I had stayed for the full 4 nights I was there. Elena was there waiting for us at 1 with a sign saying welcome. We were lucky as we were on the middle floor and not many guests were there, we actually didn’t see or hear anyone, and the kitchen was right next to us so we could just go down and eat or drink anytime. It was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. The room was so cozy, the bathroom and shower were perfect and again as no one was staying in room 9 we didn’t share. I actually cannot fault anything about our stay. It was about a 10 min walk from town, which is uphill but I enjoyed seeing the views etc and it was a good calorie burner. Would go back again without hesitation. Also people leave behind lots of food so great to cook there as well to save money.

I really liked this place because the owner had provided a number of nice touches that made us feel welcome. Examples included complementary filter coffee and biscuits, numbered cupboards in the kitchen and numbered individual fridges in the kitchen too. I have never seen that before.||The kitchen and communal dining area were well appointed and everything was spotlessly clean. The bedroom was comfortable and had a small couch, coffee table and large easy chair. Highly recommended.||Haugen is an easy 10 minute walk from the center of Longyearbyen. The bus dropped us at Funken Lodge and we had a little trouble figuring which place was Haugen. It's directly downhill from the Lodge. Look for the red building with the reindeer antler collection on the lefthand wall.

The place is just perfect! Elena, the host, warmly welcomed us upon our arrival in Svalbard. She is very kind and guided us for many things that we needed about the city. The accommodation is just perfect, the view is very nice. There is a separate fridge, as well for your things. The cozy and lovely rooms made our experience memorable and pleasant visit.

A decent guest house, very nice rooms, immaculate clean, spacious bathrooms, a big and well equiped kitchen. The staff is helpful, nice and superb professional. The location is very good, just 10 mins walk from the town centre. Yoy can frequentlt spot reindeer nearby, as it's their favourite place. I felt there really at home.I would reccommend this place.

We rented 1 flat for 4 adults for 1 week in this establishment. Elena, the manager, welcomed us very warmly and gave us lots of information. The flat was brand new, spacious, with comfort beyond our expectations. There is a kitchen with everything you need to prepare food. It is located 10 minutes walk (slow walk maybe 15 minutes) from shops and restaurants. No need to travel for activities, the companies come and pick you up. Just perfect !
