57 Disney World Rides and Attractions, Ranked From Best to Worst

"A beloved Magic Kingdom Omnimover attraction where "grim, grinning ghosts come out to socialize," employing a number of old-school illusions and a catchy theme song that guests "won't be able to stop humming." The slow-moving buggies, retro-style presentation, and perennial repeatability make it a classic that's fun for all ages." - Elizabeth Rhodes Elizabeth Rhodes Elizabeth Rhodes is a senior editor at Travel + Leisure, covering everything from luxury hotels to theme parks to must-pack travel products. The Best Things to Do at Disney World: The Rides and Beyond | Condé Nast Traveler

"Enter the Haunted Mansion, a Gothic revival-style manor at the back of Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom, and board a “doom buggy” for a tour of the 999 haunts that reside within. The gravestones that line the queue are delightfully punny, but our favorite element of the Haunted Mansion is the small pet cemetery to your left as you exit. Peer to the back to see a small stone statue of J. Thaddeus Toad—a nod to Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, one of the park’s former attractions. Try to hit the Haunted Mansion early or late in the day for the lowest wait time." - Valerie Marino

Haunted Mansion at Disney's Magic Kingdom, Walt Disney World Resort, Orlando, Florida, United States - Theme Park Review | Condé Nast Traveler

"Set the scene for us: what's this attraction all about? Enter the Haunted Mansion, a Gothic revival-style manor at the back of Liberty Square in Magic Kingdom, and board a “doom buggy” for a tour of the 999 haunts that reside within. Fun! Any standout features or must-sees? The gravestones that line the queue are delightfully punny, but our favorite element of the Haunted Mansion is the small pet cemetery to your left as you exit. Peer to the back to see a small stone statue of J. Thaddeus Toad—a nod to Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride, one of the park’s former attractions. How accessible is it? Guests with mobility issues are guided to a separate entrance and unfortunately miss the parlor scene. Noted. Anything else we should keep in mind as we plan our visit? Little kids are often frightened at first, particularly when the room plunges into complete darkness. There aren’t any gory scenes, but the ride is dark and some ghosts pop out in a graveyard scene. Try to hit the Haunted Mansion early or late in the day for the lowest wait time. The entrance is near the Hall of Presidents and Liberty Belle Riverboat, which unloads hundreds of park guests, many of whom head straight to the Haunted Mansion." - Valerie Marino

Haunted Mansion is an absolute Disney classic and one of the best-themed rides in Magic Kingdom. The second you step inside, the atmosphere takes over creepy, funny, mysterious, and full of those iconic Disney details that make you want to look everywhere at once. The stretching room, the floating candelabras, the ghostly ballroom… every scene feels like its own little spooky masterpiece. The ride itself is smooth and filled with clever effects that still hold up no matter how many times you’ve ridden it. The ghosts are playful, the narration is iconic, and the entire experience strikes the perfect balance between spooky and fun. It’s not scary, just delightfully eerie in the most charming way. Whether you’re a first-time guest or a long-time fan, Haunted Mansion is a must-do. A hauntingly magical ride that never gets old!

This is one of the opening day attractions at Disneys Magic Kingdom. It’s a never miss ride we try to always go on. The 999 happy haunts will make your day :) Even though it’s a 50 year old attraction it still has an amazing following. If the lines get long, wait until a parade starts or go on at closing of the park.

The Haunted Mansion is an essential ride in Magic Kingdom, especially for people who enjoyed the movie but the best time to go is probably around Halloween. The queue line has a spooky walkthrough show and the ride is slow but there are plenty of ghosts throughout to make up for it. Even the line has grave sites, a ghost horse with a biggie, etc. to look at while you wait.

A masterpiece of eerie elegance! From the ghostly hosts to the spellbinding effects, every detail oozes dark charm. It’s not terrifying, but deliciously spooky — a perfect blend of whimsy and the macabre. A must-see for any adventurer with a taste for the supernatural.

The Haunted Mansion at Magic Kingdom is a must-visit attraction, especially for those who have seen the movie and enjoy its spooky charm. The ride is filled with creative special effects, from the ghostly apparitions to the clever illusions, all done in a playful and entertaining way. It’s not too scary, making it great for families, and it perfectly blends Disney’s magic with a touch of mystery.

Excellent classic ride. It’ll never lose its nostalgia. From airborne Medusa heads to ghosts dancing in a century old saloon, it makes you feel like you’re in an actual haunted house. Don’t miss this one if you’re spending a day at MK. Some small children may seriously be spooked, so just keep that in mind.

Talk about a ride that sticks with you through generations and through all is changes. I've ride this ride every decade of my life: 90s, 00s, 10s, & 20s. The titan of excitement walking up to the mansion is unmatched. Younger me enjoyed reading the funny gravestones and older me enjoyed the newer fun line elements that have me and my nephew fun memories while waiting in line. The stretching room is always fun to experience other people's reactions. It's true fear and magic happening in that room no matter your age. I love getting to the ride and listening to the voice over tell you the ghost will put your restraint down. It makes you feel like the spirits are already on this journey with you. There isn't a time when I am not darting my head back and forth on this ride trying to catch every little detail and see if anything new has popped up. But there's so much to see it's hard to tell if something is new or you just missed it before. To mess with people in my group I normally reach out and knock on the back of their ride vehicle. I admit I shouldn't do this and have eased off it as an adult. There's so many aspect of this ride that ate iconic: Madame had in the crystal ball, the ballroom, the grave yard scene, and the thing that terrified me the must as a kid. The hitchhiking ghost and the voice over saying a ghost might go home with you. The only thing scarier to me on this ride is the ride breaking down in the graveyard and that ghost popping out from behind the grave didn't break. (True story) The haunted mansion is a must do Disney ride. Never go to any Disney park and skip out on their haunted mansion or phantom mansion ride.

This ride holds a special place in my heart—not only have I been riding it since I was a kid, but I also proposed to my now-wife right in front of the mansion! 🖤 Such an unforgettable memory tied to a true Disney classic. The theming, atmosphere, and spookiness are all perfect. This is without a doubt a must-ride attraction every time.
