Haus am Moos was the very best accommodation of my entire Europe trip! Walt responded almost immediately to my inquiry and made booking so easy. And then upon arrival, I was just completely swept off my feet! The property is so charming and the room has everything you need - don’t come expecting a hotel, but do come expecting a wonderful, memorable experience. The breakfast was absolutely phenomenal and I enjoyed hanging out with the owners and my fellow guests so much that I ended up canceling all my touristy plans for my one full day in Salzburg to just stay at the pool all day. It’s about a 20 minute bus ride from the Salzburg city center, but the bus is very affordable/reliable. The value and experience is so good that it’s well worth a little extra time in the bus or your car. Highly, highly recommend (10 out of 10) and I surely hope to be back one day!

Two weeks traveling in Germany and Austria, this was our favorite lodging. We wanted to be on the southern part of Salzburg, so we loved the location. It was too cold to use the pool. The home has so much character, years of loving caretaking show through all the little touches. Walter, Gudrun, and Thomas were great hosts. Gudrun puts on a wonderful spread for breakfast, delicious. I’d definitely recommend.

Of the places I've stayed in Europe, Haus am Moos is my favorite. The hosts are incredibly gracious. The rooms are great for the price. The breakfast is spot-on. And the pool... wow! They can cover it with a shield in poor weather so you can still swim. Our daughter loved it. Great location for drivers and there is straightforward bus access, too. My whole family felt sad to leave here.

Although it was a long time ago(1990), my wife and thoroughly enjoyed our visit. I am sure a lot of things have changed since then but from the photos I can tell it’s the same lovely place.

This is everything a traditional family-run inn should be! The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety. The location was perfect for us – quiet and peaceful, but close to a long list of historic and scenic attractions. The hosts are friendly, welcoming and have lots of Salzburg visiting tips. (#1 tip – Salzburg Pass is excellent value.) We would definitely stay here again.

Friendly service minded owners, authentic house close to Salzburg. ||In all the perfect Bed & Breakfast for anybody travelling to the area on a budget with a car and like to keep it simple in regards to parking ones car and or drive into the city of Salzburg to walk in the footsteps of Mozart and the cast of Sound of Music.

Thank you our hosts for a very pleasant stay. This is our third time of visiting this property in 16 years. The hosts are friendly, informative on the local transport and attractions (Christmas Markets were outstanding). The house is a picture book Austrian chalet with all the facilities you could need, and look forward to going again

Nothing like having Walter (the owner) to ask questions to each morning. Scrambled eggs are now included with breakfast. Bus stop is a short walk away. Bus 21 will take you right to the old town area by the river.
