A beautiful gallery located on the island of Illa del Rey. They renovated a hospital island and embellished it by creating gardens. Only need to pay 10 euros for the shuttle boat fee, but it is definitely worth it. The gallery has a great blend with the view of the Mediterranean Sea.

I would certainly recommend a visit to the island. The work on restoration of the hospital is most impressive. The exhibition space is well-designed and cool in all senses of the word, and the gardens (installed by Piet Oudolf) are truly excellent. We were not so impressed with current exhibitions; exhibits were technically sound and workmanlike, but one needs to have a better understanding of this type of work to really appreciate it.

Caught the first boat over to the lovely Illa del Rei. Great coffee at the Cantina and then into the north and south galleries. Very chill with helpful staff. The rest of the island is really interesting too. Get there early and beat the crowds.

One really lovely place just 10 min away from Mahon by boat. Very interesting 2 small galleries and nice outside spaces. The buling with the old hospital is very intense as well. There is a restaurant with amazing food and service. The trip to this little island was worth it

The entire experience was breathtaking, from the setting to the atmosphere. The gallery itself was beautiful, and we thoroughly enjoyed the exhibition. I'd highly recommend booking lunch in advance if you plan to eat there. We weren't able to get a table on the day we visited because it was fully booked, so we opted for a glass of wine and enjoyed the stunning view instead. I would definitely recommend this experience to anyone.

When you are looking for an alternative plan to the beach or swimming scene in Menorca, this is a must see. A an easy 15 minute ride from the port in Mahon (costing 7 euros round trip and includes access to the exhibit on the island) takes you to the island. Currently (until Nov I think) they have a Rashid Johnson exhibit which is beautiful to see. We had a free guided tour lasting about 40 minutes with Rosa and she took us around and explained everything. Fantastic and fun! Thanks, Rosa. You don’t need to book this in advance, it’s free and you’ll see her at the top of the hill once you’ve gotten off the boat. The hospital and its history are fascinating. They have a beautiful shop as well but it’s quite pricey. I definitely recommend this stop while in Mahon. We took the the 5pm ferry and returned catching the 6:30 pm ferry. The outbound boat leaves every hour on the hour and the boat from the island back over leaves every hour on the half hour. Thanks for an awesome visit!

Great place to spend a few hours with lots to see. A short ferry trip to the Isle de Rei from Mahon. The art gallery and hospital are free to explore at leisure or you can book a free informative guided tour to either one. There's also a shop and lovely restaurant with tables outdoors under the olive trees. The food and service were excellent.

Make a day of visiting Hauser & Wirth and the old restored hospital. Both the hospital and H & W buildings have been beautifully restored. The galleries will always have something of interest and the food at the Cantina restaurant is delicious. The staff in both the galleries and the restaurant are fabulous. All it costs is the 10 euros for the ferry.
