We were given this lodge as part of our diving trip in FP. Overall the lodge was lovely. The only problem ex had was |A) you had to pay extra for your feted eggs or omelette at breakfast. That was strange nowhere in the world we have had to pay extra for that. |B) if you are signed up on a set menu plan you got dinner with no choice. And I tell you it was a terrible, tasteless, dinner every night. I landed up going to the grocery store to buy cheese and meat to make a sandwich. The dinner was revolting! Every single night. It was like they did not care you were on a package deal and you had no choice and you had to eat what they gave you. |It was a different fish every night with a disgusting sauce. |C) we had a similar place I. Rangaria and we had a choice for dinner and it was great |D) the bungalow were good. Air conditioning good. ||The staff were good. ||I would not eat the dinner there on a meal plan.

Beautiful location and beach but the accommodations are poor. We were in a beachfront and it was very basic. Tiny room with no closet. Bathroom very basic and small. We were there 5 nights; stayed the previous 5 nights on Rangiroa. Could have skipped Fakarava altogether. Loved Rangiroa!

Fantastic view, very nice beach and good food. We had several nights here, and found some very welcoming, sweet, nice and polite staff (unfortunately also the very opposite, but the good experiences make up for it). The owner needs to take a look at their cabins very soon, which are starting to look worn (screws sticking out of the wall, fan that doesn't work properly, toilet seat broken and rusty shower bracket). The food in the evening is very varied, seems to be a quiet and safe place.

We spent the first 5 nights of our first trip to French Polynesia on Fakarava at Havaiki Lodge. For those who do not speak or understand French, we suggest you have a good translation app. One of us remembered enough of her French language education, so we did not have a difficult time on the island or at the lodge. ||We had a lagoon view bungalow, glad for the air-conditioning at night. We had one good, clear night for star-gazing. Loved watching the nurse sharks swim by every day. We appreciated the reserved beach chairs (bungalow numbers on the back), especially with all the non-guest people who lunched at Snack Requin Dormeur (lunch restaurant on the water). Two days of diving covered the north and south passes, lots of sharks, and a giant manta ray was the highlight.

Terrific location; friendly and helpful staff. We were especially impressed with Neina! ||Le Snack has a chill vibe and a killer fish sandwich.||We hope to return soon.

We had an amazing stay at Havaiki. We stayed for 5 nights in the Panoramic Garden Bungalow. The room was clean and the Air Conditioning was very appreciated, given the February heat and humidity. ||There was a set menu for dinners each day, and the food continually exceeded our expectations. They were able to accommodate any dietary restrictions. It was a "fish-forward" menu but even the non-seafood lovers in our group were able to appreciate the meals. ||The beachfront was nice - there was a reserved pair of loungers reserved for each bungalow, which was a welcome surprise.||All in all, no complaints for our time, and we wished we could have stayed longer!

The review is about the Pearl Farm and Pearl Lottery. Not the hotel. Did the free Pearl cultivation presentation today which unfortunately was only in French. I wished they would have it in English available. Luckily another guest helped with translation. Also bought a ticket for the pearl lottery. Thats where my disappointment came. While iam aware its a lottery and that's where the fun comes from I was a bit disappointed: another girl had a Pearl where the nucleus was still half visible so she got to pick another one. I had the same with my Pearl but didn't get the same opportunity offered. Also, when my oyster was opened it was immediately taken apart without given me the chance for taken a photo with the Pearl inside - while all the other guests got the opportunity to take a photo before the Pearl was taken out. To be honest, felt a bit sidelined and completely left out from this.

Havaiki Lodge is a beautiful rustic oceanfront resort. I would always suggest to opt for the oceanfront units which have AC. Nice little pier for sunsets. Top Dive is close by for all your world class dives at the passes.
