Castillo de la Real Fuerza is a small but interesting museum, and a visit takes about 1–1.5 hours.
This is the oldest stone fort in Havana, built in the 16th century.
Some artefacts have English descriptions, but most information is only in Spanish. The staff are very helpful, though it felt like they might be expecting tips.
The upper floor gallery was closed, but you can still walk around and take photos. There are no restrooms inside, so plan ahead.
The museum has a good collection of artefacts recovered from underwater excavations, which gives a nice flashback to Havana’s role as a Spanish naval hub.
