Really cool looking 'New York' vibe and multiple craft beer choices attracted us to this 'Gastro-Pub' major problem in my opinion was that the food is not that 'crafty' or 'gastro-ish' at all but instead just plain old grub.
Menu's VERY unimpressive even with all the cutesy wording for their fares.
The French fries were soggy with grease and in total there were 15 real fries, the rest of the basket was full of half broken chips and fried potato peels, we were starving, yet we could not bring ourselves to eat more than a few fries. Our waitress explained the greasiness with the observation that 'that they had been deep fried'. Whatever it meant...
Half an hour later the burgers arrived. I had the lamb burger on some sort of sweet dough bun with sugary sweet caramelized onions, fit for a cake. The size of the bun was so enormous that I chose to eat only the meat paddy over the bottom half and even that seemed like a lot of bread. Now that 'gastronomic wonder' costs $12 a-la carte, I felt the cooks could have spent a few coins more on some artisan buns, not to mention a few extra classes at the College of Culinary Arts just down the street.
This one's off the list.
