Haven Marina

So dirty. Urine stains on bedding. Black scum in bathroom. Doors with stains and liquids that had been spilt on them left and disgusting. Windows were cloudy and dirty as they don’t ever get cleaned. Carpet black with dirt and stains. Very disappointing. Last time I stayed there 5 years ago was so much better. For the price you accept and old place but not the disgusting hygiene this time. Motel was however obliging and offered another room. But it was no better. Motel said that people have different standards of clean. I showed her the photos I took and she said “I’ll need to talk to housekeeping”. This was not isolated. The office and car park and pool area were filthy. The old restaurant area which was closed down was not cleaned and all old equipment dumped in there. I will never stay there again.

So filthy and such a health risk. Urine stains in bedding. Doors with grime stains and liquid spills. Windows cloudy and not ever cleaned. Mould in bathroom. Scum in bath. Stains on carpets. Whole business is filth. They literally do not clean. Actually only clean thing is the sheets. But under the sheets was urine stains and black hairs. Entering the building to get to room was even disgusting. Who ever owns this business should be ashamed and put out of business. It is on prime land and brilliant location but it’s filthy. I don’t mind a place being old but you can still clean it. The old restaurant the reception and pool area also disgusting. Management at front desk said “People have different standards of cleaning”. I showed her the photos and she said “I better speak to housekeeping”. Why would she do that when the reception is dirty and she obviously can’t even see that. I’ll never stay again.

The room we had is spacious, though a bit dated. The front desk is very friendly, and the location is great. Just a couple of minutes walk to Glenelg beach. The price for a night is not expensive and we had a comfortable stay in a convenient location. We recommend staying here if you are a bit tight in your budget.

Wife and myself were there 4 nights the room itself stunk of cigarette smoke. Curtains i had to climb up onto a chair to open and shut them, tiles in the shower cubical we're lifting some tiles missing in front of the vanity basin, television was turning off after every four minutes had to restart every time. The bed Seem to be broken in the middle, The service of the staff was excellent, very friendly. Sad about the room.

We stayed there having read reviews so had an idea of what to expect. The complex needs either serious upgrading or total rebuilding - it is old and the decor is dated. However, we felt that it was clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. For the price we paid, it was good value; great location, friendly staff & adequate off-street parking. It's not the Ritz - you want luxury - then you pay for that standard! Would happily stay there again.

This is a one star hotel at best. Very old and grubby. Dusty rooms and the whole property needs to cleaned from top to bottom. The building itself is ageing and no maintenance has been completed since I was there 30 years ago. Linen and bed was ok. No restaurant no house cleaning and would never stay again. Paid 175 a night.

Due to car trouble we had to find emergency accommodation & Haven Marina was the first motel we came across. They were very helpful & accommodating. The room had everything we needed to be comfortable for the 3 nights we stayed. Clean room, comfortable bed, hot showers, within easy walking distance of the beach & shops & transport into the city. The staff were lovely & very helpful with our needs.

Not a place to stay with Family. While the location is good, most of the places in the hotel is filled with cigarette smell. Certainly not going to stay again. Hotel staff was gentle and polite though.
