Haven Marina

Mouldy, filthy and run down. Hands down the worst hotel room I've ever stayed in. The whole complex needs to either be renovated or just torn down completely. Mould on the bathroom wall above the shower and on the shower curtain. Exhaust fan in the bathroom was filthy, I hate to imagine how filthy the AC filter would have been. The AC itself was old as dirt and couldn't cool down the entire room. Laminate floors were sticky and filthy, resorted to wearing shoes inside. TV was either dropped or hit with something, just goes to show how little they care. They did replace it the day after but we decided to leave early, one night was more than enough in this place. Massive holes and scratched paint throughout the room. Strong smell of cigarettes even though it was a non smoking room. We were in a "pet friendly" room which may explain why the room was so run down and filthy but that doesn't mean the bare minimum can't be met eg. Clean and mould free. I would still not recommend supporting a business that cares so little. The lady on the front desk was friendly, the location is great and there's plenty of parking in the dodgy car park. Those are the only positive things I can say about this place. Spend the extra $20 and stay elsewhere.

We love this location. It’s very convenient to jetty road and beach, close to the airport and harbour town shopping center. The view in the room was nice. The staff were lovely and helpful with the late check in procedure in which we greatly appreciate from our late flight. Great value of money, slightly outdated room but clean and tidy. Everything worked well and we were comfortable.

Having stayed at this venue before many years ago and found it to be good, I was unfortunately extremely disappointed this time. Outside it is disrepair, with rotten timber hand rails on the outside stairs, concrete cancer and crumbling concrete on the balconies. Inside as the photos show the room needs a really good clean. The door edges are grimy, the carpet filthy and bench tops sticky. The trim around doors and some skirting unpainted and missing sections. In the bathroom, the glass doors have been replaced with a rusty rod with a curtain. The shower taps had no nuts on them to hold the handles on. The TV is smaller than the one in my caravan, was not scanned in and kept pixelating. The AV cable was not even plugged in. On check in and check out the staff member was friendly! I don’t need to elaborate any more as I think you get my experience.

I recently stayed at Haven Marina and had a great experience. The hotel itself is a bit old, but everything was kept spotlessly clean. The housekeeping team does an excellent job and are very friendly and approachable. The manager was also really nice and down to earth, which made the stay feel welcoming. On top of that, the location is just perfect – right by the marina and close to Glenelg. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay and I’d happily come back.

The rooms need renovation big time. They look like they haven't updated anything since the 1960's. We stayed 6 nights and the room wasn't serviced once. No fresh towels, soap or anything else for that matter. Good location.

There are only 2 good things about this place. 1) The location is good. 2) There is onsite parking available. Other than that, the property has t seen any significant maintenance in what feels like decades. Our room had some suspect looking water damage in the ceiling, the desk/cupboard had some serious water damage that hadn't seen any attention, and the bathroom was borderline falling apart. There were "No Smoking" signs posted around the property, with piles of cigarette butts covering the floor, indicating that no one has put any effort into the grounds of the property either. The pool didn't seem to be in a serviceable condition either, with missing tiles etc clearly visible from the carpark. Considering all these points, I couldn't recommend anyone actually stays here, instead invest an extra $20 to stay in a more modern and well kept facility elsewhere.

It’s a 3 star digs FFS people. Yes it’s tired and could do with some TLC but you not living there, it’s a place to rest for the night. Both myself and my partner we were satisfied with it for these reasons. Sharon at the front desk was a pleasure to deal with as well 👍🏼

Nice place for what you get so great value for money.. and it isn't far from the Watermark which is basically the heart of glenelg anyway! Hasn't changed much in last 10 years renovation wise and the restaurant is no longer there, but I'd still recommend.
