Where to Taste Tasmania's Wine and Food From Launceston to Hobart

"A casual wine bar in Launceston's Art Deco downtown that champions small producers; expect an outdoor-seating vibe, '80s New Wave on the speakers, and eclectic pours such as a tropical skin-contact OGG, juicy Pinot Noir, and an aromatic Cabernet Franc." - Betsy Andrews

We had such a lovely time at Havilah, and really enjoyed the wine tasting. The staff member who took us through our tasting was personable, knowledgeable, and really bright. The vibe is absolutely killer, such a beautiful venue and a great location… could definitely sit here and people watch with a glass of wine for hours. The food was good, but we felt that the pricing was a little unreasonable for the portion sizes. We understand that small businesses need to work so much harder to make ends meet with rising food costs, but a $38 pasta which was a fairly small/medium bowl with no protein felt a little steep. Regardless, such a beautiful venue with truly kind and heartfelt staff. Definitely would recommend to people travelling into Launceston.

Great for lovers of natural wine and good food. The small menu was beautifully presented and perfectly executed. The staff are warm, friendly, and know their stuff, making the whole experience even better. Bookings were so easy, no stress at all. 👌🏻🤌🏼✨

Easily a highlight of our two night stay in Launceston. The staff are so warm and welcoming, we sat at the bar both nights and enjoyed some great chats, amazing wine and yummy snacks. The off-list Riesling was pretty special and the snack menu just right👌🏻 plenty of seating inside and out, but yeah, we loved sitting at the bar and grooving to the vinyl, good vibes and a definite recommendation from us ♥️

It was Sunday evening, walked in got a table for two. We shared a hard cheese and had a side of cured meat and a nice chutney, we shared octopus terrine. That was super tasty well balanced with a lemon zest to it. The octopus was cooked to perfection. My friend had 6 natural oysters and loved them :-) The waiters where on the ball, service was fast and attentive. Was about $150 for 2 and we had two glasses of wine each!

Great vibe, great wine selection, friendly service. The food was a bit of a let down - as someone who likes plenty of salt, two of our three plates were noticeably too salty. The steak was tough despite being cooked to medium rare - I would have preferred to pay more for a bit better cut.

The wallaby skewers, the pasta, the perfect Old Fashioned, the perfect service, the fantastic music and high quality speakers, the great wine recommendation.... Such a dreamy place to spend an evening... Ask for their amaro selection, they don't seem to have it on their menu but it was top notch!

Stunning food, wine and atmosphere. Accommodating too and were able to make some more veggie dishes

Very small place but great food and vibe. The lamb ribs were a standout for us. Wine list was small but they had a whole wall filled with wine that you could pick from for takeaway or add a corkage price. Great spot if you are visiting Launceston, worth a stop!
