Haw Phra Bang

Wat phra Bang is part of the Royal Palace Museum complex. It was built to house the Phra Bang Buddha statue. It's a 83 cm tall statue of Buddha that is the National Emblem of Laos. The temple construction started in 1990 and completed in 2006. It's a very beautiful structure, very vibrant in color with very good photo opportunities. The most remarkable one is the multi headed Naga serpents along the entrance. The entrance fee to the temple is included in the museum entrance ticket.

Eye-catching temple within the Royal Palace complex. Footwear is not allowed on the temple premises and the floor exposed to the sun can get quite hot so it’s a good idea to visit in the early morning just as the place is opening.

Very nice, but no picture taking inside... Not sure why because it does not look too dusty, and I did not see any cobwebs, or other imperfections the staff do not want documented. Oh well, it's still nice. This building is also not as grand like some other temples (or cathedrals, or mosques) in some other parts of the world, but it is still pretty.

Beautiful traditional laos architecture . This building located at the entrance of Luang prabang royal palace . Pha Bang named of the most important of buddha image of Laos PDR was inside . At night road in front of Haw Pha Bang was closed and transfer to night market with a lot of goods and souvenirs was sold here like a textile , artisan , gifts ect. And before sunset if you want to walk up to Phu Si you can find the way up another side of the road in front of Haw PHa Bang.
