Hawaii Ocean Rafting Whale Watch and Snorkel

By all accounts we had a very lucky experience. We had beautiful weather with decent water conditions. They did have ponchos available which was nice, as you are likely to get wet being so close to the water. Once we were out there we saw multiple groups of whales, including several times whales coming right up to and under the boat. The staff was friendly, and informative and we always felt safe.

What an amazing trip. We were blessed to see a pod of about 5 or 6 male whales competing. It was the most wildest thing I’ve seen and absolutely breathtaking. The crew was amazing and so informative. The raft was comfortable and the ride was smooth. So many great pics and videos. Can’t wait to come back again.

Had such a great time. One that I will definitely never forget. The captain told us how to spot their activity. It was so much fun. You would be scanning the horizon in one direction, and a whale would pop up in another direction. It was as if they were playing hide and seek. The marine biologist was very informative, as was the captain. The captain turned on the underwater mic so we could hear the beautiful whale songs. We saw 8 to 9 whales that evening, and one even went under our boat! I would recommend them to anyone wanting to share a unique experience with great hosts!

The trip was amazing, the crew was knowledgeable and truly enjoyed sharing the love for the humpback whales. I would recommend the smaller raft experience over the larger boats as we were able to move quickly to a blow or splash. Our whales were active and engaged in making our experience wonderful. The whales were very active on our sunset trip on the 15 person low lying eco raft that we went on. 08/01/2025. Gorgeous views. The ocean was calm and the experience felt surreal. We listened to them sing to each other and saw a mother and calf swimming together. The baby was jumping and showing its back and tail. So cool to see. The males were huge and impressive as they bumped into each other seeking attention. Very interesting to watch. Our guides were very knowledgeable and kept the information flowing while navigating us to the pods that were displaying the most surface active behaviour. Awesome experience would do this again with Hawaii Ocean rafting.

Absolutely amazing!! Within 10-15 min we had a whale and he was sooooo friendly and playful. He swam right up us and gave us an amazing show! We booked a 1:55pm time with Mark and Merideth and they were the BEST! The raft is super safe and easy to get pictures! Small group making it super easy to see!

An absolutely unforgettable whale-watching experience in Maui! Seeing these majestic creatures up close was awe-inspiring. Jack and Val were knowledgeable and made the trip both fun and educational. The views of the ocean and the excitement of spotting whales was simply magical. Highly recommend this adventure for anyone visiting Maui!

Captain Jill and First Mate Danielle were amazing! This was the highlight of our Hawaii visit. Many moments to watch mama and new calf spout and swim. Jill is generous with her vast experience on the water, with the whales, connected with nature.
