Hawea Hotel, Eatery & Bar

The hotel is more like a motel, decent, clean with your basic necessities. The restaurant is OK, I enjoyed my cheeseburger (it was delicious), but the pan fried fish was too salty and the sticky date pudding wasn't that nice, but service was lovely and the view is unbeatable. The view is well worth it, and I would stay here again just for that view.

My boyfriend and I had dinner at the Hawea Hotel and were blown away by the impeccable service. Our waiter Hugh made us feel like special guests. The local beer was delicious and well priced. The food was incredible. The view was gorgeous. I highly recommend Hawea hotel for dinner!

Came to the hotel earlier than needed and the staff let us place our bags in a separate room as we roamed around the lake. The room was incredibly clean and spacious. Would recommend.

Consistency isn't there unfortunately. Got a meat lovers pizza last week and it was great. Decided to get another with extra bacon. Charged an extra $4 and it had less than half the amount of the first one and the whole thing was just a slopy mess and frankly a bit gross. Seems need to pick your day for who's making the pizzas as was very clear they were made by different people

I usually check reviews but we don’t have sims & just using wifi here, so we are just turning up at places.. & We were genuinely surprised at how great this was!! Friendly staff, & the roast of the day was only $30 and it was amazinggggggg!!!!!! I wish I had taken a photo it looked so good and fancy, but it tasted even better!!! 🤤🤤 Plus we sat outside in the sun with an amazing view. Wow!

I did not think I would find an affordable lakeside accommodation here in Wanaka/Hawea, but I'm glad I found this hotel to stay in because it has been amazing! Watching the sunrise and sunset over Lake Hawea right from our bedroom with nothing else interrupting the view - I don't think you will find other hotels with rooms with uninterrupted views in Wanaka or Queenstown. If you want somewhere quiet, affordable, and amazing views, this might be just the hotel you would want to book in!

10/10 views! Fantastic value for money and such a great location, only 15min drive to Wanaka as well. Great service and great food and coffee from the restaurant. A fantastic place to stay!

We went for lunch last Septemeber on a Sunday - food was excellent. However, not a good choice unless you are happy with burgers when the restaurant is not open as was the case yesterday (a Saturday). Nonetheless great views and pleasant atmosphere,
