AMAZING is the word😍my partner and myself stayed for a valentines weekend away, I had my worries at first with the hotel being so remote but honestly it was the best thing so so relaxing and peaceful the views are just unreal and you end up not wanting to leave. The food was amazing if I was being really picky I think the fish and chips needs some work as it’s not actually fish and chips but still tasted amazing. Everything was so clean, the staff were amazing and our room was gorgeous. Definitely worth the money and will be coming back soon

We arrived for a 3 night stay last week. The local roads were very icy but the landscape was superb. So was the hotel. An Art Deco styling, a roaring log fire to sit by, food and service of the highest quality. And then, the night before we were due to leave it snowed. And snowed. Leaving was impossible that day, but the skeleton staff roomed at the hotel were superb, making us comfortable, still supplying an outstanding service, remaining cheerful and so very helpful. We finally made it out down still very snowy roads the next day with lasting and very warm memories of our stay. Well done to those staff!

This hotel can only be described as 'quaint'. It has a nice charm about it, but it is somewhat tired, and though it is in a lovely location it is a difficult potholed road which approaches it. It is quiet and the staff are excellent, and the menu is superb, if a little expensive. We were with a bunch of friends and had a great time staying at the hotel.

Stayed 2 nights from Boxing day and had a great time. Such a unique experience staying here. The building is absolutely fantastic with lovely outside space. We were lucky enough to be in the balcony suite overlooking Haweswater. Food and drink here is so good and made even better by the staff. Fernando served us in the bar both nights, he was so much fun and informative recommending drinks to go with our food. The wine list is superb with a selection to suit all tastes and budgets. The emphasis is on France, Italy and Spain but nice to see wines from Portugal making the list. Menu wise the food is excellent well put together without being pretentious. To say we enjoyed our stay is an understatement and we're already planning our next visit. Thanks for a great stay which was above all a fun experience. Chris and Sally.

Absolutely incredible stay at the Haweswater Hotel. The scenery from the hotel is just incredible. The hotel itself is gorgeous with loads of incredible art deco features. The food is impeccable - small but delicious and well thought out menu. The staff are so friendly and really go above and beyond - special shout out to Aaron who was so friendly and made us feel very welcome and to the lady on reception who sorted our extra night. Super remote but perfect if you want to escape for a night or two away from it all. Incredible walks nearby. Very doggy friendly. We lost our car key up the mountain and ended up staying another night but the staff could not have been more lovely about it! This was our second time staying here and we made some lovely memories. 10/10 recommend.

The hotel is absolutely amazing, and I love its charming vintage vibes! It’s a fantastic spot for enjoying breathtaking views of the reservoir and offers convenient access to nearby hiking trails. The restaurant is exceptional, with delicious foodI highly recommend trying the sticky toffee pudding! The only downside is the WiFi connection. While it works well in the lounge and restaurant, I struggled to get a stable connection inside my hotel room. If the hotel could improve this, it would make the experience even better!

My Husband & I just spent a wonderful 3 days here. Winter breaks are always nice, but the location of Haweswater is incredible. So peaceful and stunningly beautiful. |The hotel is also beautiful and unique with a very minimal Art Deco style. We were given a warm welcome by the incredible staff members, who were all lovely, professional and friendly, particularly Aaron, who seemed to be a master of multitasking, I think he definitely deserves a pay rise! It makes a real difference to your visit when the staff are so lovely, so thank you to all of you!|Food was outstanding. We did not try the tasting menu, but the main meals were of a high standard and very good portion sizes. Breakfasts were also amazing. (Full English and continental).||We stayed in the Lowther balcony suite, which was nicely decorated and had stunning views. Having netflix available was a nice addition.|There are a few minor downsides, such as a lack of places to put things. No dressing table in the bedroom wouldn't be such an issue if there was a shelf in the bathroom, but there's no place to put a wash bag or toiletries. Seems like a bit of an oversight! Probably designed by a man.|The bed is not especially comfortable, and feather pillows that are very thin, so I don't feel it's somewhere to stay for more than a few days. A bit more comfort wouldn't go amiss, but overall we really enjoyed our stay here & the good, outweighed the not so good.

We decided to eat out on Christmas Day, in my 64 years I’d never done this before but the Haweswater looked special and so we booked. On arrival (after a detour…..our SatNav took us what seemed like miles away) we were greeted by warm friendly staff who made us feel very welcome and who continued to make our meal very special. The food was delicious. From ‘pre starter’ to starter to mains and, of course, the delicious dessert. It was Christmas dinner but subtle flavours and beautiful presentation made it more than that. Eating out is more than just satisfying hunger it is about an experience and this was a great one. The hotel is wonderful and the art deco furniture and surroundings made it feel like you were going back in time. Add to this the remote location and the amazing views and it all added up to a truly memorable experience. We’ve booked to go and stay for two nights in April and we will go back for Christmas again next year. Wonderful!
