"Hayfield Manor Hidden down a side street beside University College Cork, this Georgian hotel feels like a fancy family home with its vine-swathed, redbrick exterior, wood-paneled library furnished in deep chesterfield sofas, and lots of fire-warmed corners to curl up in when it’s raining. When the weather is fine, it’s a pleasant 10-minute walk to sites like the English Market that lie south of the River Lee; it’s about 30 minutes by foot to the Cork Butter Museum and Shandon Bells Tower on the river’s north side. While Hayfield Manor is certainly central to the 120,000-person city, it feels almost suburban thanks to two acres of pretty, flower-filled grounds. A bunch of resident rabbits hop between the cedar, beech, and chestnut trees that shade the greenhouse, and there’s a sometimes-sunny terrace for afternoon drinks. The elegant manor clearly has blue-blooded roots: the Musgrave family, who originally owned it, has come to rule the Irish grocery business since they opened their first greengrocer in Cork in 1876."

I stayed at the Hayfield for 3 nights for a work trip. As a result, the business rate applied which was half the normal rate (and still not cheap). I honestly wouldn't be happy spending that amount per night on a room there. I was in a standard room and while the bed was very comfortable and the bathrobes were incredibly fluffy, the room was dated and needs a refresh. There was nowhere safe to plug the kettle in when making tea, I had to put it on my case. There's an odd brown cabinet in the room which I had no clue of its function, it could be reconfigured to allow the kettle. While nothing bad happened, we all felt that we were treated differently at check-in to guests who were travelling as part of a vacation. We went for a drink in the garden one evening and no one came to take our order so we ordered at the bar, 20 mins later the server came to apologise for the delay and said they were just preparing them. Unfortunately, we had to leave for dinner in town. |On the positive, the breakfast was probably one of the best breakfast arrangements I have ever had. Top marks for that. The hotel is set in beautiful surroundings, it smells amazing and there are doves in the garden. The doorman was incredibly friendly and while I didn't use the pool (I wish I had), the ladies there were super lovely when I went down for a look. The turndown service, although not requested, was lovely.

Had a brilliant stay at Hayfield Manor. The whole place has this relaxed, understated charm. We had a tapas style lunch with drinks in the Bloom Garden Restaurant, which was beautiful. Great vibe and setting. Dinner in the main restaurant that evening was spot on. Staff were friendly and helpful. The spa was a welcomed wind down, and the whole property has that mix of being authentic and genuinely relaxing. Will definitely be back.

From the moment we arrived we felt absolutely pampered. We only had one day as we were on a tour. but the staff welcomed us in and provided top notch service. We were given a welcome drink on arrival. Dinner was excellent, one of the best meals I’ve had in ireland so far. If you like martinis the bartender made the best dirty martini I’ve ever had in my life. I cannot say enough about the room. The air conditioning was a welcome touch, the beds provided one of the best nights sleep I’ve had, the shower had the perfect pressure, and the grounds were spectacular. |Thank You so much for such an amazing experience, we felt very welcomed and well rested after our stay. The only thing I would change is us staying longer❤️

Elegant old home an oasis in cork! Although decorating needs a little updating the food was absolutely excellent and they accommodated all of my requests. Room was huge and bright and inviting as was the bathroom! Pride by staff was intoxicating and we felt so welcome! It is a beautiful place with flowers blooming and beautiful and the aviary something different . The perrot restaurant was beautiful and all glass. Just so pretty . And we truly enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

I recently stayed at Hayfield Manor in Cork and had an absolutely fantastic experience from start to finish. The room was spacious, beautifully decorated, and incredibly comfortable, definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in. The service throughout was first class and everyone was warm, welcoming, and genuinely helpful. Cleanliness was clearly a priority, with every corner of the property spotless. One of the standout highlights for me was the restaurant. The food was outstanding, beautifully presented and packed with flavour. It’s rare to find a hotel where every element hits the mark, but Hayfield Manor really delivered. Highly recommend it if you're looking for a relaxing, first-rate stay in Cork. I will definitely be going back!

Hayfield Manor is pure magic. From the moment we arrived, we were treated like royalty — but with the warmth and sincerity that made it feel like home. Every single member of the staff went above and beyond in the most genuine way. It wasn’t just service; it was care. The manor itself is stunning — luxurious without being stuffy, and filled with character. Our room was elegant, spacious, and spotless, with thoughtful touches that made the stay feel special. The food was outstanding, and the atmosphere throughout the property was peaceful and welcoming. But what truly sets Hayfield Manor apart is the people. The staff made this experience unforgettable. Their kindness, attention to detail, and heartfelt hospitality left a lasting impression on us. This wasn’t just a hotel stay — it was a memory we’ll treasure forever. If you’re visiting Cork, do not miss the chance to stay here. It’s one of the most special places we’ve ever been.

Mum & I had such a wonderful stay at Hayfield Manor, Cork. From the moment we arrived, the experience was exceptional - largely thanks to the incredible staff. I especially want to call out Noel, who was the first face to greet us and truly set the perfect tone for the entire weekend. His warm welcome and professionalism made us feel instantly at home. The rooms were immaculate, beautifully maintained, and incredibly comfortable, providing the perfect retreat after a busy day. The food was fantastic as well - every meal was a delight with fresh, flavourful dishes that exceeded our expectations. Overall, Hayfield Manor is a truly special place with impeccable service, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. I’m already looking forward to my next visit!

Yelp
Stayed here for a week long work trip. The accommodations are certainly 5 star! The property is beautiful both inside and outside. Really loved staying here and will definitely return whenever I am in Cork. There are 2 restaurants onsite. Both were fantastic and served fresh, locally sourced food.

Yelp
This is a five star manor and has been visited by several celebrities or famous people. Spacious room and we can play golf in the room. Note that the entrance to the manor is a small alley which can be troublesome to enter when there are cars coming from both directions, especially during an event. Welcome drink is a whiskey and got a free upgrade using Amex FH&R benefit. Received welcome kit including snacks and wine in the room.

Yelp
I stayed at the Hayfield Manor for 2 nights for a stay in Cork while my friend ran the Cork City marathon. I found the hotel with Amex's Fine Hotels and Resorts program. Which has many benefits to booking through them -- including the 4pm check out which we used. There is also an option of an early check in which we didn't need, a room upgrade (which wasn't available, but our room was great), and some other things (eg breakfast for 2 people). The 4pm check out was amazing because my friend could shower after the marathon before we drove to Dublin airport. We drove in from the Ring of Kerry, and were greeted by Frank the concierge. He was friendly the entire time, and had nice suggestions of places to go. He was very helpful with bags as well and valet parking as was his staff. The check in process was easy. The hotel uses actual keys which are kept at the reception when you leave the property. The room was one of the nicest hotel rooms I've ever stayed in. It was huge! We booked a Superior Room with 2 single beds. The space in the room allowed us to arrange the stuff in our bags for the flight back to the US. The bathroom was spacious with 2 sinks, a shower, and a claw-foot tub. There was also a heated towel rack (I love these, and the US needs these). The beds were comfortable, and I loved the duvet. We took advantage of the breakfast. There was food in a buffet with a lot of cold options, and food was available from the hot menu. I had the full Irish breakfast. It was fantastic. The hotel was also accommodating of marathon runners. On the day of the marathon, Sunday, they opened breakfast from 7-11 instead of the normal 8-11, so my friend could grab a yogurt before her run. I did the 10k, and I made it back at 10:43, so I was able to have breakfast after my 10k, which was perfect! They also let those who were still in the restaurant after 11 when the buffet was closing in case we wanted to grab anything else. I wanted to check out the pool and spa services, but I didn't have time. If I come back to Cork, I will stay here again as it was an amazing hotel.

Yelp
This well-appointed manor house is super-comfortable, from the fireplace in the lobby to the rooms (fixtures, bedding and amenities) and lovely seating areas indoors and out. More importantly, every staff person encountered was genuinely friendly and attentive. Breakfast was a top-notch service with a broad selection of quality dishes and fresh buffet items. Dinner in Perrotts and the lobby bar services were excellent. A necessary cycle of refurbs will keep the decor fresh and updated. Drive (or walk) carefully on the tight, pedestrian-active local roads! You'll enjoy your time here.

Yelp
I love the Hayfield's ambiance, vibe, staff and rooms. Unfortunately, their afternoon tea and spa services have gone down hill since last year...the savoury tier at afternoon tea was stellar. But the remaining tiers of pastries were heavy, overly sweet and missed the mark entirely. Scones are no longer made with butter so heavy not crumbly. The "lemon" bread had been replaced with chocolate and it was dense. There was no carrot in the carrot cake mini muffins. The mini pavlovas were TOO sickly sweet and majority of room had leftovers (waitresses offered to box up but we passed on that). The chicken & tarragon finger sandwich were epic. The mini egg sandwiches were delicious. If I ever go again I would ask for the savoury food only. I have sweet tooth but nothing on the sweets list stuck with me as something I would like to eat. The lemon meringue tart had too little pastry & too much gelatine yet simultaneously was too big to elegantly transfer from tier to plate...petit fours are supposed to be tiny sized bites. Also, a bit stingy with one of each thing per person. They could have cut each item in half to keep vibe yet give impression of plenty. Or offered refills of sandwiches. Presentation of the tiers was sloppy. Sadly, cannot recommend for afternoon tea.

Yelp
Expensive, but worth the experience. This review and rating is long overdue. I stayed two weeks here seven years ago and wanted to share the lovely photos that I captured back then. I was here on a work trip and with some Irish luck, I received my biggest career promotion in my life at a company that year. It was an unforgettable experience and trip for sure. Room and service were excellent. Lobby was filled with excellent customer service everywhere. When waiting for my room, I was offered free Irish Tea service at the bar room area. The sugar cubes were cute and the tea was the best. Decorations were beautiful. My designated driver showed up on time every morning. They were all very passionate, well trained, and friendly. The window view from my hotel room was stunning, amazing, and breath taking. You can walk around or look at the peaceful garden/courtyard. Everything was so green, real Irish green as it rains frequently with some fast moving thunderstorms in the middle of the night (Springtime). Colors and mood of the environment created a very comfortable ambience and the mattress of the bed was extremely clean and comfortable. Bathroom was fully stocked with double sink. It really felt like a dream place within a dream. Breakfast was available early mornings in the dining-room/restaurant downstairs. Great foods. When I initially entered the hotel room, I found a lovely note written by the general manager welcoming me to the stay and they provided free chocolates and fruits nicely arranged on my table by the window. I really loved that personal touch! I also had my laundry service done on-site and they included a lovely note in a basket when returning my clothes to the room. Every piece of clothing was very clean and nicely folded. It made me feel special indeed. Everything smelled very good and there were plenty of drawers to store my belongings. For two weeks, it was an excellent place. I will be returning in the future if they are still open in future years. It really meant a lot for me and made my trip a very special trip and place to remember. Excellent across the board. Highly recommended if you enjoy some Irish luck and beautiful touches from a very passionate family business. Loved all the photos on the walls too. Absolutely beautiful landmark hotel.

Yelp
We loved our stay at Hayfield Manor. Excellent service, staff, amenities, food, decor and location. A beautiful place to stay while visiting Cork. The beds were exceptionally comfortable. We truly enjoyed the hospitality.

Yelp
Amazing place to stay, beautiful rooms and the garden bar was wonderful. Frank at concierge is extremely helpful and welcoming. He goes above and beyond. An overall nice and relaxing environment.

Yelp
We are for two nights. Upon our arrival we were greeted with a song by a bellman with a top hat. After getting off the bus and given our key we were offered a shot of Irish whiskey and a sweet treat. The whiskey was a brand I've never heard of but very smooth. We were told it's not available in the US. Our room was very nice. We had dinner in Orchids, located in the hotel, and everything was excellent there.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
This is the best hotel in Cork! The service throughout the hotel from bellmen to bartenders and restaurant staff is excellent. The staff is very friendly and are obviously committed to providing guests with the best experience possible. I can't say enough good things about the Hayfield Manor team. The rooms are comfortable, clean, and charming. This is a manor-style hotel so the rooms are not the typical Hyatt/Westin/InterContinental type of accommodations. Hayfield Manor does things the old fashioned way and they do it well. I highly, highly recommend staying at the Hayfield Manor is you're staying in or near Cork. If you live in Cork or are staying elsewhere or passing through, stop in a have a drink at the bar and/or at one of the two excellent restaurants.

Yelp
A touch of class. Simply amazing and quaint place. I was pampered and spoiled to the ten degree. Frequented by a multitude of celebrities and dignitaries...as well as little old me. Restaurants are top notch and the lounge is soooo relaxing. The room was beautiful and welcoming. Wonderful place to stay at. A must see place. Beyond the best.
google avatar

Cyndy K.

Yelp
Cyndy's Bottom Line: Exceptional service consistently throughout the entire manor. A delightful stay while in Cork. Love the location. Near Cork University. The room is spacious with a sitting area and a large window overlooking the beautiful garden. The bathroom is big and filled with toiletries. The service is exceptional from the start and throughout our stay. We had afternoon tea at the Orchids restaurant and it was wonderful. Nice decor. Candle lit table looking out to the garden. The finger sandwiches were delicious. The cakes, scones and clotted cream were scrumptious.

Yelp
Hayfield Manor is a delightful and intimate hotel set in a manor house at the top of a hill in Cork. This is a 5 Star hotel with attention to service details. And good reason it has earned top rank among Cork hotels. It is suitable for business or couples wanting to get away and be pampered. It is a small hotel, actually, with limited number of rooms. We reserved the library for a private client discussion with coffee and tea served. Perfect. Many nice touches. Check-in is at a desk. You are escorted to your room by the front desk person, and the hotel services are explained including a spa and indoor heated pool. Several fine dining choices. We checked out the Orchids Room for breakfast as well as the Manor Bar with several beers on tap for drinks including some local brewskies. Delightful Irish breakfast with variety of fresh fruit and juices. Pluses: + Friendly and attentive staff + Free Wi-Fi + Comfy beds + Beauty of the grounds + 20 Minutes from airport and 10 mins from train station via taxis = 1 mile walk/taxis to downtown area. - Only Gripe: Been years since I've been in a hotel with physical room keys with room number attached. No record of who comes in and out of your room. No electronic control over access. Physical keys may be quaint, but seems dated and an insecure way to operate a hotel Tip: Negotiate a room rate that includes breakfast for a better deal. My room rate excluded breakfast, and that was a mistake.

Charlotte S.

Yelp
Absolutely lovely! Would give 10 stars if I could. The property is gorgeous and the lobby area has so much character. The room was much larger than expected and the staff had arranged a second bed for our child. The staff was extraordinary and consistently impressed us. Seriously, what were the chances that the spa would have a bathing suit in our child's size? And only 6 euros! Breakfast was wonderful too. Would strongly recommend and will likely come back next time we are in Ireland.

Yelp
I have no idea why this place is a 5-Star hotel. If you're used to staying in 5-Star hotels, this one does NOT compare/compete with any normal, nice, clean place: DO NOT STAY HERE... old, run down, and dirty...
google avatar

Guy C.

Yelp
Catching up on a trip but stayed here a few days recently... Staff where really hospitable, place is like a jump back to a time where everything ran slower, the world didn't bustle and there was time to sit back and really soak in the world. Rooms where sumptuous, only complaint was, we had a room above the back garden and I think this might be a commune for smokers as we had to twice call reception to ask for them to get some hush when we wanted to turn in. Anyhow, a small gripe in the scheme of things as this IMO is a highly recommended hotel, A very classy joint indeed and one I do hope I have the fortune on returning to !

Yelp
Hayfield Manor is a beautiful, elegant property. I have greatly enjoyed my stay here. Walking into the Hayfield Manor at the end of the day is like taking a step back in time away from the hustle and bustle of 21st century life. The rooms are not large but they are comfortable and beautifully furnished. The grounds of the hotel are a joy to explore. I went on a daily jog around the college and lough each morning which allowed me to explore a bit of the neighborhood. I'm told that when class is in session that the traffic around the college is quite congested so you might want to build that into your plans for a stay here. The service is the feature of this hotel which will bring me back to stay again. My original plan was to rent a car at the Cork Airport but Hertz didn't have the car available that I had requested. Hertz's advice was to wait for their shuttle bus or walk 30 minutes back to the main terminal to catch a taxi. I called the Hayfield and a car was immediately dispatched to pick me up and my room was ready when I arrived at the hotel. This is just one instance where the staff at the Hayfield went above and beyond to take care of me during my stay. On a side note, if you are on the fence about renting a car. My advice is don't. Especially if you are an American, the challenges of navigating unfamiliar traffic patterns is not worth the hassle in my opinion. A full Irish breakfast was included in my room rate; I would highly recommend breakfast at the Hayfield. Fresh fruit, juices, pastry, cereals and other delicious continental breakfast items are just the warm up for an Irish breakfast of eggs, ham, sausage, potatoes, grilled tomatoes and more. Now you see why I took a jog each morning to build my appetite for this wonderful breakfast. The pub and restaurants in the hotel are also good. I had a pint each night at the pub while chatting with the bar keeper. He was able to suggest local beers like the Rebel Red which is brewed just a few miles from the Hayfield Manor. I would also recommend the Irish Ribeye at Orchids, it was a great steak that I enjoyed a great deal. Thank you Hayfield, I can't wait to see you on my next business trip to Cork!

Yelp
I don't give a lot of 5-star reviews, but this place deserves it. Lovely and gracious, with charming and highly competent staff, this is what a hotel should be like. When we arrived after a slightly exhausting drive, check-in was in comfy chairs at a desk in the lobby -- what a change from standing in line at a reception counter (like waiting for a teller at the bank). And they offered a drink of local whiskey -- free. The woman -- Mary Theresa? -- couldn't have been nicer, including helping us sort out some credit card problems, and offering excellent recommendations for dinner, and picking up the phone and making the reservations on the spot. It was like being in Carson's hands on Downton Abbey. Breakfast -- though pricey -- was lovely. There was an actual honeycomb in the buffet. If you told me that Hayfield Manor had trained, non-stinging bees fly the honeycomb in themselves, I'd believe it. Breakfast was so good, I was sorry I didn't try the hotel for dinner -- not something I usually say... This place is great.

Yelp
The hotel was great. We had an awesome room, which we got at a pretty reasonable price. The service was A plus. Everyone was super friendly and super helpful. The room was immaculately tended. Turn down, just as an example, changed our wet towels and straightened up the room, usually turn down just closes the shades and pulls the sheets off the beds. Food was great in the hotel. Breakfast was crowded but excellent. The only bad part was the location. It is a 20minute (about a mile) walk to town. The walk is through the university and not that nice. Narrow sidewalks and really boring and dirty sidewalks. Not unsafe just boring. We did it twice. We are avid walkers but I wouldn't want to do it again. The cork traffic is so screwed up that the taxi took almost as much time as the walk. So I really didn't like the location at all. Still a five star hotel but not convenient.

Yelp
I went on the web site one year ahead of our planned trip to do a 5 star trip to play golf and go pubbing. This was the 41 year culmination of our marriage and our last trip. When my bride saw our room she was ready to stay there the rest of her life. We fell in love with this magnificent hotel experience. The bellman that checked us in was a treasure and some nights took very good care of us in the bar. It's only a slow 20min walk to downtown as you really don't want to drive in cork or any city in Ireland. They have mytaxi which is like Uber only they use cabs but you still order and pay on line. The cabbie drivers are fantastic and do speak a form of English unlike US cabbies who all speak various languages none of which is understandable. Anything you want to know just ask the cabbie. One other thing be prepared for the greatest service you've ever experienced!!

Yelp
I came for a facial at the spa, and the experience was wonderful from beginning to end. Kelly did a great facial and helped me understand how to maintain my skin. It is very nice to come here, next time I am in Cork I will try to get a room. Idyllic and gorgeous manor.

Yelp
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Hayfield yesterday and stayed two nights in their most magnificent suite. I never write online reviews but was compelled to give the most glowing of reviews to this wonderful hotel. There aren't enough superlatives to describe the perfection of our experience. Every member of staff was a credit to their craft, including the welcoming doormen, friendly and helpful reception staff, skilled and jovial barman, knowledgeable and patient waiting staff, thorough housekeeping who added some lovely personal touches and not forgetting the attentive and accommodating wedding planner. Our wedding felt like everyone's main priority and as a wedding party of just 8 it was incredible to be granted so much attention. The environment was warm and nurturing and after this, our second visit, already feels like a home from home for us. I was never made to feel burdensome for my awkward dietary requirements, and they catered for our every need....whether it be requesting additional supplies to help in our preening and preparations or delivering midnight cocktails to an exhausted but delighted bride and groom, no task seemed too big or too small. And I must mention the bottle of bubbles on ice that was left in our room on our wedding day, along with some chocolate truffles, with congratulations, compliments of the Hotel. We are already talking about celebrating our one year anniversary in Hayfield next year!

Yelp
I was here for a night (my first time in Cork), & I was completely swept off my feet. The staff were some of the most courteous and patient I'd seen: we three were up late, quietly chatting in their main drawing room, when a gaggle of other guests and their friends (other bands who were staying at the hotel that night) drunkenly swaggered in with the impression that it was a brilliant idea to turn the quiet, relaxed main floor into a raucous party room. At 3 a.m., no less. Aside from a few pursed lips, the staff handled the situation with admirable aplomb (somebody who had worked the similar night before even had the insight to remove the piano from the room that night - somewhat rescuing the sleep of the guests upstairs). The next morning dawned clear and bright, and we drifted downstairs for the included breakfast. Delightful; refined. Followed by a swim in their indoor pool, a steam room session, and a dip in their jacuzzi (as it was still morning, we had the whole place to ourselves. YES.). A walk around the grounds later (check out the rabbits & birds!), and we were on our way back to Dublin, feeling we'd been blessed. Definite recommend. Postscript: A caveat to this review - we didn't have to pay for the rooms, as the venue that hosted the band I accompanied had paid for it. Something to keep in mind.

Yelp
I don't think I've ever been treated better than during our stay at Hayfield Manor. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated and the service is world class.
google avatar

Yelp
Couple of recession beating nights before the IMF breaks us altogether. Mind you, at an eye-watering €200 a night sans breakfast it would do an EU Commissioner proud. Great location, beautiful rooms. Apart from the irritating piano player in the lobby, nothing bad to sat about this oasis of tranquility 1 mile from Cork city. Highly recommended - apart from the price.

Yelp
We have stayed at many top hotels across Ireland, but Hayfield Manor is one of our most favorite. The building and grounds are beautiful, the menus and wine lists are fabulous, but it is the service that sets Hayfield Manor apart. The Irish are of course known for their hospitality. But everyone we encountered, from management to desk staff, from the waitresses to the porters, was so gracious and eager to help. One of the managers, Evander, was exceedingly kind and helpful. It could not have been a better visit, and we cannot wait to return. Exceptional value, and highly recommended!

Yelp
This was overall the most impressive hotel we visited in almost two weeks driving around Ireland. If this hotel was not in Cork there would literally be nothing wrong with it. I enjoyed Cork, it just wasn't my favorite city. We stayed here for two nights recently. I will give you some highlights: We arrived after driving all day from Dublin. With all the sites and getting lost 40 or 50 times (GPS was only 8 Euros more a day but our organizer decided against it) we didn't get to the hotel until almost midnight on a Sunday night. The staff was incredibly professional and patient. We were a boisterous and curious group of eight people. I don't know how the poor woman at reception kept her composure as we fired off question after question, many times on top of one another. The indoor pool area, spa area, and gym were excellent. The breakfast was quite good. We had breakfast there twice and a drink before going to Kinsale. So we didn't get to try the restaurant for dinner. The bar area is warm with dark woods and comfortable sofas. One night after returning from Kinsale, we noticed that all the pubs were closed after dinner. The man on duty served us drinks for a few hours in the library. That is what I call good service. He never made a big deal and was very upbeat and professional about it, even though it was after midnight. The gardens outside are nice. My room was huge. The bathroom has a separate tub and shower stall. They served us chocolates, tea and water in our room when we arrived. The staff is really efficient. One of the ladies at the front desk was able to get us reservations at two of the best restaurants in Kinsale even though we asked last minute. If you have to be in Cork or choose to be, definitely stay in The Hayfield Manor. It's amazing. Enjoy!

Yelp
This is a stately, wonderful, gracious, old fashioned beautiful hotel with service that is top notch. Bart, the doorman who is in attendance some of the time (not enough!) seems like a fixture, a legend in his own time. He directed us on a driving tour that we would not have figured out with any of the 7 guidebooks that we had. The breakfasts were divine. I had the full Irish breakfast and it was fantastic. We had dinner at Orchids, and while the wine list was quite lacking (seems to be a common problem in Ireland) the sommelier was French and she was delightful. The food at Orchids was very classic Escoffier inspired cooking, so although it was not modern and exciting, everything was done to perfection. The gardens, the bar, the library were all understated and elegant. We were able to select from many fine Irish whiskeys. The room was simple, luxurious, elegant. The location of this hotel is very private, quiet, and secluded. Loved it!

The Hayfield Manor hotel has got to be one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in and truly one of the best in all of Ireland. We stayed here over a long weekend while I had business in Cork and did some sightseeing on the weekend. I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in the Cork area. We were visiting the Ring of Kerry and Cobh and found it to be a great comfortable jumping off point. The hotel itself is about a kilometer from the Cork city center right next to the University, which is also nice for a stroll around. I did walk to and from the hotel to Cork city center, but it is a bit of a hike and we opted for taxis most of the time, in particular to the train station which is about a 15 min taxi ride. The hotel grounds were beautiful with a great stone entry way and well manicured plants throughout the property. My 18 month old son loved walking out front and we discovered a little aviary and bunny pin out in front which he enjoyed. The hotel has two restaurants and an indoor heated pool and jacuzzi and some nice looking small garden in the back as well. All of the staff were incredibly friendly from the check-in staff to those cleaning the rooms, who always made an effort to say hello and good morning with a smile. I really like the check-in process which they allow you to sit down at a small desk in the front very casually and complete your check in rather than at an awkward desk. It made things much more enjoyable and really set the mood of the place. I visited in mid November and all of the Christmas decorations were up and it was very beautifully decorated. The grand staircase in the lobby and the always glowing fireplace make the place very inviting. We were traveling with our 18 month old son and they added a baby crib and refrigerator for our milk for no additional charge which I think showed they are very family friendly. They also had some specific baby oriented packages for those interested. If you stay here, definitely include the breakfast. It was included with our room rate and I am so glad that I didn't choose another special. The breakfast is probably the best I have seen at any hotel or even any restaurant. I couldn't believe how incredible it was and only wish I had more of an appetite or more days to enjoy more breakfast! You order breakfast from a menu which is brought to your table along with coffee, cappuccino, tea, etc. but you also have in additional to this several tables of top quality cold options in the side room including smoked salmon, quality meats and cheeses, bloody mary mixes, several types of juices, several types of breads and croissants and top quality fruit as well. I will definately choose the Hayfield Manor for all future trips to Cork.

Yelp
I've stayed here a number of times. The first when still living in Cork for a special occasion and the service was so good I kind-of find myself making excuses to go back.. The service on first staying there was impeccable, but when coming back for the second time we were made to feel like good friends. The doorman Bart (a bit of a legend by the way) welcomed us back as did the General manager Ettienne. On mentioning that I was a special occasion when asked, we were upgraded to a suite. We ate in the restaurant (Perrots) Prices for dinner (including the excellent wine list) were very reasonable for a five star hotel (in my experience this is pretty rare in Ireland) and the food quality was excellent and well presented. Wouldn't stay anywhere else in Cork.

Yelp
We knew that the Hayfield Manor was going to be a pleasant experience but I did not expect the outstanding, feeling like Royal family experience that I have gotten. The GM Ettienne and the bellman Frank are amazing, they are warm, genuine and make you feel that your experience here is important to them. Thank you for making this stop of our trip the best so far

Yelp
I read all the other reviews and I feel I must say this hotel has decent accommodations. However, the staff is bourgeois and pretentious! We were in bed and had someone unlock and open the door to our room and then close it. We were engaged in amorous activities and it all happened so quickly we did not get a look at the person who entered our room but once we realized what happened, I got dressed and went down to the front desk to advise them of what happened. The girl apologized and that was it! No attempt to find out who it was. Nothing else! Just "sorry" and I was supposed to be comfortable staying there? I could barely sleep. We were mortified and a little scared to leave our belongings in the room knowing that anyone could come in at any time apparently so we carried our bags out to the car when we left! No one ever contacted us further or did or said anything to try and help the situation. Our stay was horrible and I do not recommend this hotel to anyone who values their privacy.

Yelp
The best Cork has to offer . Hospitality is 5 Star from the time you pull in to departure. Wonderful dinner in the Orchids with a night cap in the friendly bar. Nice looking spa and classy pool. The GM T.J. Has a top shelf staff

Yelp
Ambience was awesome. Wish we had stayed at the hotel. Food was perfect - superfood salad and fish for dinner and my husband had carpaccio and steak - all were excellent!

Yelp
We took a trip to Ireland last week - and booked only 5 star hotels. This one was our favorite for rooms, service, cleanliness. And lots of action in the hotel. Kids, bar action, nice people. We stayed at other hotels that seemed like funeral parlors! I have to give the room location a 1 though. We wanted a non-smoking room yet seemed to be placed on a smoking floor or at least the room next door was smoking? Hate the smell and it seeped into our room. Was not happy and they were fully booked so we couldn't be moved. But great location - walking distance to pubs, college and 30 min. to Cobh and Blarney. Just double check your non-smoking room for smoking neighbors before unpacking!

Yelp
This was the best experience I've ever had. The rooms are lovely, the food was delicious, the staff exemplary. A special shout out to Ciara, who helped make my parents' 50th anniversary so special. She is such a lovely person and an amazing concierge. Thank you to all at Hayfield Manor for a lovely visit!

Yelp
Gorgeous hotel in Cork. Service is outstanding everywhere: Bart the doorman, check in, turn down and wait staff. The rooms were a good size and quite luxurious. Front desk called in a reservation at nearby restaurant we really wanted to try. We had drinks afterwards at the hotel and weren't disappointed. Breakfast the next morning was great. One of the nicest places we staying during our trip to Ireland in October 2013.

Yelp
stayed for two nights, and struck my wife and me as the best hotel in ireland, all of dublin included. The rooms were large and immaculate; the staff were friendly and helpful, but always thoroughly professional... from cleaning staff to bartenders. We were especially impressed with Michael, the concierge, who is truly exceptional at his job. Don't pass up an opportunity to stay here.

Yelp
There aren't enough words to describe how absolutely incredible this place was. After our stay here, we stayed only in castles but to be honest, we wanted to go back to Hayfield! We stayed in Ireland for about 2 weeks and my husband and I both agreed we could have spent the whole trip at Hayfield. Cork is a bit of a crazy city. Narrow streets, driving on the opposite side of the road and fearless pedestrians made it a bit stressful for us Americans so we were glad to find Hayfield up a small hill in the city, but also its own oasis. The staff was phenomenal. They treat you like royalty and are so, so kind. They remember your name, are sincerely interested in making your stay the best of your life, so on and so on. It was our honeymoon and we were upgraded to their most amazing suite. Upon entering the room, we were greeted by fresh lavender (my favorite that the manager made sure I received) and chocolates with a syrup that spelled out "happy honeymoon". Beautiful grounds, amazing food (best fish & chips on the planet), unbelievable tea time and the list goes on. It doesn't get better than Hayfield. Bliss from the moment you enter. Close to city sites and a very short drive to Blarney Castle. Thank you Hayfield for the unbelievable stay.

Yelp
Stayed here July 2011. This was a beautiful hotel stay, the room and the grounds were very nice. What put this hotel over the top was the on-site restaurant. Had by far the best dinner and drinks on our 10 day trek through Ireland. While Cork was not my favorite city in Ireland, the hotel clearly was.

Yelp
In a word this hotel is AWESOME. I have stayed in a lot of hotels in my time but this hotel is head and shoulders above the rest. From the second you enter the grounds until the moment you leave the staff are at your beck and call. All the staff go above and beyond the required standard. The restaurant is sublime and the bar is set in comfortable surroundings. The outdoor hot tub is secluded and relaxing. The staff in the spa are both courteous and professional. The bedrooms are perfectly kitted out and as I stayed there at Christmas we even had our own Christmas tree. The attention to detail is phenomenal with everything from the expensive free shower gel to the luxurious bath robes being perfect. A visit in this hotel is a break away from the world. While being expensive please remember it is truly five star with all the trappings and well worth the extra cash. I can not recommend this hotel highly enough.
