8 places in Hong Kong to get your specialty coffee fix - SilverKris

"A community-focused roastery-café on Peel Street that imports green beans and roasts them on site, pairs a playful chocolate-brown-and-teal interior with a retail selection of home-brewing gear, and runs workshops on roasting, brewing and barista skills. Seats are attractively designed, and the menu includes crowd-pleasers such as an affogato served with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream." - Rachel Eva Lim

Google
Long term customer of their Garuda beans and Morning Blend. Beans are still great but was disappointed to find out that the free delivery minimum purchase has gone up massively from $200 to $350. I'd still buy a bag of Garuda if I pass by but will be taking my regular order elsewhere.

Had 2 filters over 2 days and both were delightful. Yes, the coffees are expensive but here you get what you pay for. I’m glad to have a selection of interesting coffees, with a barista team that can bring out the flavour profile. That’s not a given these days. Will be back!

Absolutely incredibly smooth latte. Friendly staff, cozy atmosphere. Much needed after hiking up and down Victoria peak

Google
My favorite coffee bean provider in Hong Kong. They have a huge selection of beans expertly chosen and will grind for any setting with their fancy coffee grinder. Quiet spot if you want to go study, get work done whatever. They have outdoor seating available as well. Besides all of the great coffee, H&H also serves up the most complete collection of coffee accessories for the most discerning of coffee drinkers. This includes professional barista gear needed in any coffee shop worth it’s salt. Go on, live a little, get a cup of Joe.

Google
Nice small coffee shop with outdoor and indoor seating. The appeal here is that it's also on the "hidden" quieter side. They have many different offerings for drinks and they taste good. Also sells equipment and beans to go. Also has a lot of filtered coffee options.

Must try ice Americans 💯 A smooth subtle Indonesia + Cambodian bean for a dark smoky refreshing chocolate afternoon pick you up, before the big climb up!!

Google
Is this the world's best coffee? Possibly. Tucked into the charming side of Peel Street, Hazel and Hershey serves up fresh roasted coffee in the method of your choosing. I went with the Guatemalan in an Aero press. My god! Not bitter and simply delicious. I added on a toast with eggs and avocado and am ready to rock my day. Perfect place to get some work done, have a meeting or simply enjoy a damn fine cup of coffee!

Yelp
The coffee and the vibes were immaculate! Came here after a friend recommended it and indeed it had everything I envisioned in a cute coffee shop! Their Americano was very solid and I loved how its served almost like a Guinness with lots of foam on top AND dynamic "layers" of foam in the cup. It had that subtle sweetness after the bitterness from the coffee. I got myself an affogato. While the vanilla ice cream was pretty good with vanilla beans in it, the espresso was indeed quite strong. The coffee has seating options indoor and outdoor. They also have a row of coffee beans/roasts as well as test tubes for your smell the respective types of beans. The brown coffee tables with accents of light blue, along with the prominent coffee bean aroma, I can see myself catching up with friends here or getting some work done.

Yelp
Love the flat white (excellent taste, no bitterness) and decently priced. Didn't try the food this time, but I will next time. Took forever to find it (yay for navigating around different streets), but it was adorable!

Yelp
Fantastic coffee drinks and amazing pastries. The blueberry muffin here is one of the best I've had at a coffee shop. The espresso drinks seem to be well made here. There's also ample seating and great wi-fi. This is my favorite coffee shop in Hong Kong.

Yelp
We were walking around soho when we decided to have a break. It was a weekday around 2pm-ish with only 2 other people in there. When my friend went to the counter to buy a drink, he asked if I'm getting a drink. He wouldn't let us stay unless both of us bought a drink so my friend ended up getting the coffee to go. Wish they're a little bit more flexible of this rule. Not like the shop was busy or anything.... PS: friend said coffee was pretty good, not acidic.

Yelp
I paid this place a visit at a loss for a place to grab a quick breakfast. I walked in to the fragrant wafts of coffee and ordered a Caffe Latte and avocado on toast. The coffee even as a latte was as fragrant as it smelled in the shop, and the avocado toast was quite good. While it's just avocado, which is good no matter what you do with it, the choice of bread also deserves some recognition. They had one of those multigrain breads which added more textures than just the crunch you'd expect from toast, in addition to some additional flavours, which overall complemented the avocado quite nicely. I should also say that unlike some other cafes in the area, they use fresh avocado, rather than an avocado paste.

Yelp
I had a very good but inconsistent latte. It was perfection on top. The microfoam and latte art was top notch. However, it got a bit watery as I drank my way down the rest of the cup. I wished the smooth texture and thickness were consistent for the entire drink but at least it retained its richness throughout. If you are visiting and planning a trip to Hong Kong and looking for recommendations (including a list of quality coffee shops), feel free to message me for my itinerary. You can also find the electronic copy through the link my profile.

Yelp
Cozy little place, there are lots of seating inside and on the patio too! Super cute!!! The prices here are $10 more due to its location. But it's more than just a cafe, they sell everything from espresso machine equipment to coffee filters to cups. The coffee is nice! I really like that they have cold brew. I love that they have juices and beers (and magazines), also teas. For all the companions who don't like coffee, you can stay here too.

Yelp
Liking the whole aesthetic look of this cafe! Good for a small chat with 2-3 friends, not so loud environment and the staffs are pretty welcoming! :) Love the patio right beside the cafe, cute colors, great for photos!

Yelp
One of the top coffee shops in Hong Kong. Its almost as if someone has a wish list of coffee drinks and walk to to HnH, they would be able to get what they want. Pros: I've been here twice, and the baristas here really know their craft. Ultra precise and ultra friendly when it comes to providing knowledge to the customer especially when it comes to the single origin coffee if you are going that route. The baristas are not snobby either when it comes to providing knowledge as they all seem very down to earth and hipster without the annoying hipster snobby attitude. If you want it, they got it. I've gotten the nitro here, single origin Ethiopian via pour-over. If you want, they can brew it for you via french press, aeropress, mokapot, and of course, espresso as well. If you go via the espresso route, then there's another world of category from espresso to lattes to mochas to affogato. Pick and choose as you can't go wrong with any choices you make, again, their barista knows what they are doing. Oh, they also got a good selection of teas as well! They roast their own beans, which is always a plus for me especially in HK. They also sell a lot of home products so if you need anything from filter paper for your V60 to a manual espresso machine even, they might have what you need! I bought a milk pitcher from them and they had the Rhinoware, which is one of the better brands for milk steaming pitchers. Excellent environment. Even though the shop is in Soho, its a very chill store with no preteniousness whatsoever. HnH is also pretty big so its pretty easy to find seats! Its one of those coffee shops where you and your friends can feel comfortable to sit and chat without feeling like you have to leave asap when there's traffic coming in. Cons: Can't really think of much to be frank. I guess the shop is a little too clutter as they have a lot of equipments for sale, beans for sale, as well as a lot of brewing equipments on their bar. Their menu is pretty filling as most items are written in chalk so it can make the store look fuller than it actually is. A little difficult to find if you are a newcomer as most things in Soho are unless you are familiar with the area already. Anyways, I will definitely come and frequent Hazel and Hershey often to try everything on the menu and learn more from the baristas! This place is a true representation of how a 3rd wave coffee shop should be.

Yelp
They roast their own coffee. Nitro brew lack body. Coffee is smooth with a great balance of sweet and bitterness, with less than preferred acidity. Local roasters/brewers are outrageously priced compared to the US.

Yelp
Had Flat white for 40 Hkd. Outside table at 11:30 am. Shaded and good spot to meet people before street shopping in the area

Yelp
Decent coffee, not overly acidic. Not alot of seating areas, but good ambiance. I was there on a Saturday afternoon, and was quite busy, Good for grab and go.

Yelp
Delicious coffee! I got the aeropressed coffee and hubby had the nitro. Both very delicious for coffee lovers. Cute decor and outdoor area that you can bring your pooch to. I'll be a regular here.

Yelp
Best coffee shop I found in Hong Kong! They offered different flavors as well as milk options (nonfat/skim and whole) so I had a delicious vanilla latte. Their espresso is smooth, and if you love it as much as I did, you can take home a package of coffee from their shelf. They have quite of selection of beans, machines, tote bags, ect on display for purchase, so can feel a bit cluttered if you sit by the front. The staff was friendly, and spoke multiple languages including English. Many people hanging out here, but they don't like if you hangout and every person does not have some sort of drink or snack. So make sure everyone orders one thing. As long as you abide by that rule, they have fresh drinking water, a really nice ambiance, and free wifi. I liked the space too, it was very modern, sleek and clean feeling. Also very bright with a lot of white. I really loved the time we spent here. Great for relaxing, people watching and enjoying a delicious latte.

Yelp
Very cute place in a nice part of town. Coffee was fantastic and I ate a light sandwich. Atmosphere was fantastic and service was great. New to HK and really liked this place.

Yelp
Apart from good coffee this place serves, this place is spacious, inviting and perfectly set up if you want to stay, relax and or do some work. Compared to other coffee shops around, this place has a lot of seating room, inside and out. Check it out! I had a macchiato with soy milk and it was really good. I was coffee shop hoping and this was the 3rd spot I tried out that day... It wasn't my favorite of the day but it wasn't far behind. I definitely recommend this place for good coffee. They're avocado toast is average - I love how they mix lime with the avocado so it's fresh and has a nice tang to it. The toast itself is just a regular slide of bread which took away from the overall taste. For the price, it wasn't worth the value for me. Service was great. So friendly and helpful.

Yelp
This place ticks all the boxes for me: - Awesome coffee (I've been to Italy and Australia so I can be picky, and know that starbucks coffee sucks if you have options. Speaking of Australia, this place also does flat whites for the expats who are a bit homesick) - Free wifi (and some power inside) - Nice and quiet spot to work for an hour or two (You could probably stay there all day if you wanted, as long as you kept your food/drink purchases consistent or just take up a table outside if you have a laptop with a good battery life) - Outdoor seating is nice when the weather is good - Close to Central and the escalators

Yelp
Someone recommended that we check this place out so we ventured over for some coffee and pastries. I order an espresso and a cappuccino. Nothing amazing, but both were good. The pastries were good, they tasted very fresh. What gets this spot a 4 star is the space. They have a great coffee bar set up, a wall dedicated to coffee gear, and an awesome outdoor seating area. This is a perfect place to grab a cup of coffee and get some work done, meet up with friends, or just kick back and catch up on some reading.

Yelp
Very cool spot for a quiet and great coffee. Big space, free wifi, great to work or just relax. I had an ice americano with a bit of soy milk to go. Paper straws are not my favorite, but great place!

Sandy L.

Yelp
I really like the cappuccino, creamy and foamy. But affogato, not so much. The shot is too sour. I personally don't prefer acidic coffee.

Yelp
What a cool find walking up Peel Street this afternoon! I was in the mood for a cup of coffee and stumbled upon this specialty coffee store selling everything you could possibly need for your home's (or cafe/restaurant's) coffee brewing needs -- from replacement parts for espresso machines, to 1 kg bags of espresso beans. This is also the place to buy your french presses; nice, thick, appropriately sized coffee cups and saucers; and Chemex coffee makers. I ordered a cappuccino, and it was beautifully presented, the perfect "Goldilocks" temperature, and served in one of the same wonderfully thick and beautifully simple cup/saucer sets that they sell in the shop. The outdoor area is a nice place to chill and enjoy your cup of joe while reading the paper or browsing around on your smartphone. I'm looking forward to visiting this shop again next time I'm in the mood for a cup of coffee and am in the Soho area.
