Our office team attended a letter press lesson for our quarterly outing. The team here was fun and easygoing with a lot of experience. If you're looking for something "out-of-the-box" to do with some friends or a date, I would highly recommend this place. The biggest note I would give anyone doing a lesson is leo your design SIMPLE! Personally, I bit off more than was needed. But had a fantastic time nevertheless.

Hazel & Violet is one must-stop along Grand Avenue for a ton of reasons... Its day to day business (unique, high quality letterpress printing and workshops). Its contribution to the community via First and Third Friday events and arts programming. It's a cool space in a historic building. And the welcoming feeling you get upon entering, walking around, and visiting.

Hazel & Violet Letterpress is a unique establishment. The Letterpress is the focus of the shop. You can produce your own products or they can create a one of a kind original. During First Fridays they will demonstrate how the Letterpress is used and give customers a opportunity to try first hand. The space is shared with a local gallery so be sure to admire pieces from local artists.

Easily one of my favorite local shops in Phoenix! Beautiful cards, stationery, calendars, and so many awesome prints! Definitely a place to shop for gifts for others or yourself.

inaccurate hours on both google and apple maps. stoped by hoping to get some cute locally made thank you cards and it was closed with no posting of hours. disappointed.

I attended a letterpress class yesterday for the first time. Michael was a great instructor and you could tell that he had taken classes and knew how to teach. The old lady owner however was a bully. She was irritated and became rude when I didn’t catch on quickly enough to the printing process and for not easily knowing my way around her studio. I ended up feeling stressed and rushed through the class. As a small business owner she should know that patience and kindness go a long way. Maybe she will be in a better mood when you take the class. I will never return.

As a teacher of creative writing and composition, I was particularly interested to take a letterpress workshop with Nancy, which was utterly fascinating. Nancy was extraordinarily patient with me as I made lots of mistakes and had tremendous fun. I was so determined to hand-set one of my poems that I ended up renting time at Hazel & Violet over many subsequent weeks to finish this project, and Nancy was extremely generous with her time and attention to this utter novice. I came away from this experience with greatly deepened awe and appreciation for the true craftspeople of printing--as they have been the foundation of many of the freedoms people enjoy in contemporary society--and cannot recommend highly enough that folks from schoolchildren to seniors take one of Nancy's workshops and use Hazel & Violet's outstanding letterpress printing services.

Yelp
I really enjoy visiting Hazel & Violet Letterpress. I always make sure to stop here when I attend First Fridays downtown. This shop is a great place for ones special, vintage feel, letterpress printed items like invitations, stationary or posters. It also has unique, vintage press created postcards and art for sale. I especially enjoy on First Fridays they show you how to operate the letterpress and print that month's artistic quote poster for free.

Yelp
My friends and I were enjoing Grand Ave's art galleries on a Friday night and there were having printing demos here! There was a century old American printing press, a 1960's German press, and a handheld press. We were allowed to use the handheld one and crank it which was so neat! We were also allowed to take the prints we made home. Such a cool experience. They also have greeting cards and art for sale all made here!

Yelp
Hazel & Violet is amazing. I love learning about type and putting it into practice via letterpress. The prints on the wall are funny and inspirational. The owner, Nancy, is a hoot! She has a dry humor that I want to bottle up.

Maybe she will be in a better mood when you take class. I will never return.

Yelp
Attended a Holiday Workshop today, WOW! Truly amazing and inspiring space. I had three hours to learn how to print and then spend time creating post cards and gift tags. Nancy was so helpful and clearly is very knowledgeable in letter press. I can't wait to come back for open hours! Highly recommend taking a class here!

Yelp
I have not yet had a chance to attend one of Hazel & Violet's Letterpress workshop, but I would like to give one of the owners, Nancy, a shoutout. I was signed up for a 4 hour workshop this past weekend, but had to cancel a day before because I wasn't able to find childcare for my two kids. Nancy promptly responded and refunded my money. I was incredibly impressed with her customer service and look forward to attending a workshop in the future.

Yelp
What a cool place! Vintage presses hand run to print invitations, business cards, greeting cards, thank you cards, wedding announcements, etc.. all the customized contemporary stuff done in an old-fashioned way. Part of the Arts District on Grand Avenue, sharing a space with the Chartreuse Art Gallery.
