Heads of Ayr Holiday Park

We booked this site just for one night to break up a long drive. It wasn’t quite what we were expecting. We were there just after Christmas so it was out of season; there was only one other Motorhome there but a couple of caravans that didn’t seem in use. We found it odd that they placed us right next to the Motorhome; we’d have preferred space, especially as they appeared to be caring for a crow with a broken wing and our dog jumped out of the van once off her lead and I was reprimanded about said crow. The campervan/Motorhome area was about a minute walk from the washroom facilities, doesn’t sound a lot but it is going back and forth. Maybe they have more motorhomes than campevans usually. But the worst thing was the showers. Everything was clean. But My god they were not warm enough at all!! Turned up full, tried every single one and they were all the same. Super disappointing after a day out exploring and you just want a hot shower. We didn’t manage to get a takeout delivered to the site which was also a ballache but not the sites fault

From the moment we arrived, we felt relaxed and happy at Heads of Ayr Caravan Park. The staff member in reception was welcoming and directed us to our pitch and told us about the park. The facilities here are super, all areas are very well kept. Our pitch had lots of space and gorgeous views of the hills. We went for a lovely walk with the dog, down to a very secluded beach cove. We only had short stay, but will definitely return soon!

Liked: The site is very clean and well maintained. I use the shower block which was warm and clean. The staff are really lovely and helpful. I would not hesitate to stay there again. Next time I’m going to take my grandkids because there’s a really good play area and it’s not far to the beach. As a solo female traveler ( except for my dog and cat) I felt Very safe and comfortable. I had a great nights sleep not listening out for anyone around my van. The weather was atrocious but I was very sheltered on the pitch I was allocated to. Disliked: There wasn’t anything I disliked about the site.

We had a fantastic couple of nights at Heads of Ayr towards the end of our honeymoon. The site was spotless, with immaculate toilets and showers - even the elsan point was the cleanest we had ever used! Reception staff were friendly and welcoming, and our pitch had been beautifully maintained. |We also walked the coastal path, which runs straight from the campsite to the little village of Dunure, and enjoyed the uninterrupted views of the sea and the rugged coastline. If you get chance to visit, you won't be disappointed. We will definitely be back!

Lovely place to stay, nice and clean and everything we needed. We stayed in the Jura lodge where there was a hot tub which was great. Our daughter loved it too. Such a quiet and lovely location. Staff were great. Our daughter says she hopes that they liked the picture she made them 😊

I have stayed here several times over the years. It's a great location with superb views and is well situated to explore this part of Scotland. There are good transport links from the town, both rail and bus, to local attractions as well as to busier places like Glasgow. Some of the nearby attractions are Ayr Beach, harbour and town, Ayr River Walk, Dunure Castle, Girvan and Maidens beaches and harbours, Dobbies Garden Centre, Greenan Shores and the Carrick Hills, and the beautiful grounds at Culzean Castle, Dumfries House and Rozelle House, which are all worth visiting and which provide lots of lovely walking opportunites. The caravan park has its own beach which is a short walk down the hill. Of course, in nearby Alloway there is the Burns Museum, grounds and cottage. The area offers several beaches for long walks and opportunites for your dogs to run free. The staff are always very helpful and friendly. The onsite shop was very handy. The park has its own laundry for visitors, which was appreciated. The grounds were extremely well kept. My caravan was very comfortable, well kept and clean. It was a lovely and quiet rural location for my three and a half week stay. I will definitely be returning yet again.

Our stay at the Arran View Apartment for a few days in September was fantastic! From the moment we arrived we were happy we had chosen to stay here for a family get together. On arrival the staff in reception (and in fact all staff on sight) were welcoming and helpful. The apartment was exceptional - all rooms were spacious and very well decorated, the open plan living area was well laid out with plenty of room for everyone to sit and to dine and the kitchen was well equipped. All rooms were immaculate. To top it all there was a wonderful view over the bay (plus a lovely rolling countryside view to the other side of the apartment. Lots of great places to visit from here and good restaurants not too far away. There's a lovely long stretch of sandy beach at Ayr but, even better, you can take a walk directly from the park down to Bracken Bay! We thought it was great value for money.

Liked: Lovely clean little site with all you could want on holiday clean well kept pitch areas facilities were also good, clean and warm. Good central playpark which is good for anybody with young ones. would definitely use again if in the area as they have a bonus system which gets you a free night.
