8/17/22 Access to the trailhead is tame and doable in any car that you're willing to get dusty. The hike offered a day hiking, chasing chipmunks and squirrels, nice scenery, and a swim at the lake for my dog and I. Starting at high noon, there were little bugs out, but as the sun set and the shade rose, the mosquitoes came out of hiding. Unfortunately there is a lot of horse droppings littering the trail - every turn it seems..it is what it is.. Overall, it was a day well spent. Get out and explore! PEACE

Ehh, nice lake but nothing spectacular. Hike is through mostly regenerating burned forest. I've done much better hikes in Montana. BTW, bikes are not allowed in designated wilderness areas, which most of this trail is on.

In 2016, a few buddies and I hiked to this lake and spent the night. The views were absolutely beautiful, and the peaceful setting made it a memorable trip. Definitely a spot worth visiting again!

Awesome hike with beautiful views. Works as a day hike or a backpacking trip with campsites at the lake. Took my mountain bike to the top, the last 1.5 miles was brutal on a bike, but worth it for the ride down....The trail is shared by hiker and horseback riders...hunters in the fall.
