Absolutely loved my stay here! The staff were amazing and went out of their way to make me feel at home! Plus the location was perfect - it really is in the heart of everything. I'd highly recommend it, and I'd be sure to stay here again if i ever return to Nepal!
As we approached the entrance, we received a warm welcome from our host Krishna, and everything else fell into place after our arrival. Our clean room had all the essentials: comfortable bed, soft blankets, a locking cabinet, and an immaculate bathroom. I also appreciated the note about hot water availability (since the building is solar powered, hot water is available afternoon and night). It initially reminded me of a dorm because of the numbered doorways, but the hospitality and inviting colors exceeded my expectations. Thoughtful portraits adorn the hallways and bedroom walls. The roof has spectacular views, and a well-stocked kitchen is available if you wish to cook your own food. The staff was warm, incredibly helpful and friendly. We received enough blankets to keep us warm at night. And our meals were a delight. Breakfast was scrumptious, which included a bit of Newari cuisine. They were graciously accommodating with my partner's dietary needs. We had the honor of meeting Krishna's family, and learned more about the guest house' support for local children with disabilities. Krishna and Roshni also gave us a brief history lesson on this city, as well as recommendations for sightseeing and for eating. We were so grateful to have gained some personal and valuable insight on life in Bhaktapur. This guest house is in the middle of all the action in Durbar square. Locals greet you with a genuine "Namaste," and food, groceries, supplies, entertainment are all within easy reach. It is also steps away from the magnificent temple dedicated to Shiva. I wish I was still there!
