I don’t really have anything bad to say about this spot! It’s an old school motel, but the rooms are actually great! They are spotless and clean, lovely fresh smell, comfortable bed. I myself am quite conscientious about cleanliness and found even the shower curtain was clean and fresh. It has lovely views, and my partner enjoyed his dinner at the dining room. I have stayed in “better” hotels and have found them lacking. If you want a clean, comfortable and welcoming place to stay I would book here! Thanks for having us

Located 2hrs approximately from Wanaka. |Very restful location with wide open views of farmland and the soaring mountains. Also on the road to Jackson Bay.|Staff welcome you with genuine smile and have your needs front and foremost.|My Room was spacious with a queen and single bed. Have to say beds are very comfortable! Lovely fresh and clean with all the usual amenities in bathroom, tea and coffee making. Most definitely value for money.|Restaurant has wide ranging menu and is locally sourced. Chef makes the most awesome cheese cake. |My only wee niggle is that was no table or chairs outside room so you could sit and enjoy the surrounds. ||Definitely recommend this for either vacationing or for the solo traveler - which I was. Will be staying again for sure.

A very pleasant stopover. This was a great location to rest up while traveling up the west coast. The rooms were clean and had all the facilities you needed for the night. The food at the restaurant was very good as was the beer to wash the meal down. All staff were very friendly and helpful when checking in and when ordering food later on in the night. Highly recommended and appreciated.

We are very decerning hotel users and weren't expecting much due you the low cost and bad photos on the websites. However, we were surprisingly pleased with our stay here. The room was dated but very comfortable, the pub/restaurant was also dated but we really enjoyed our dinner and chatting with other travellers and locals. So don't be put off by the bad photos, this is very good value, a good comfortable place to stay. Hoteliers, don't ever upgrade the main lounge, it's old-school but awesome. Also sjout out to the staff, very helpful and genuinely friendly. Cheers

Heartland Hotel Haast was a very nice spot to stop at in our trip along the West Coast. It provided a good location after coming out from the Haast Pass and between the more southern point of Jackson Bay and north to the glaciers. The rooms were serviceable and housekeeping was good. The restaurant attached served good food and great waiting staff. A particular piece of feedback to John, who served us both nights. Thank you for your service.

Outside it doesn't look much, really could do with a wee spruce up, but the rooms are very comfortable clean and well appointed. The shower in the bathroom is a little strange but worked. Reception staff were really informative to guest infront of me but obviously ran out of things to say when going thru the checkin process with me. If you book a room to have your dog to stay they offer this service but don't expect anything like they say on there website. Make sure you have your own dog bed, water and food bowls etc as nothing is provided. I would stay again as it was convenient and reasonable plus has great lawn area for exercising the dog.

Good spot to haul up after an easy day crossing over from Queenstown. Rooms perfectly clean, all fittings and furnishings functional. Plenty of ice available for one’s evening tipple. Great whiskey tumblers and wine glasses. And if you find yourself without a private stash, the bar is open all day for drinks. Staff quite pleasant and accommodating. A couple of items guests should be made fully aware of before booking: 1. There is no air conditioning and the radiant heating units are centrally controlled. All rooms are either on or off. Guests can twiddle a knob from low to high, but even at low, it still puts off some heat. 2. There are no screens on the tilt-open windows or sliding glass door. Mosquitoes will, and did, find their way in if you open up for ventilation. 3. There is a standing fan available in each room, so you can cobble together a form of cooling air, ventilation, and mosquito defense. I suspect our arrival just as the weather was coming out of a cold snap and reaching into a bit of a warming spell made for a perfect storm of inconvenient climate conditions.

Beautifully surprised by this accomodation. Rooms were large, beds amazing and so comfy. Wifi, hairdryer, shampoo etc and free coffee and tea. We had a wonderful buffet breakfast in the morning before heading out. Absolutely recommend.
