Hearton Hotel Nishiumeda

Stayed 2 nights in August 2025 for business trip. Excellent location and good value considering Expo year pricing in Osaka.||**LOCATION:**|Outstanding location just 5+ minutes walk from JR Osaka Station West Exit via straight route - very easy to find. Close to KITTE Osaka and major shopping areas. Perfect for business travelers needing good transport connections.||**ROOM & FACILITIES:**|Double non-smoking room was compact but functional - typical Japanese business hotel standard. Room included all necessary amenities, good air conditioning, and reliable WiFi. Desk available for light work but not ideal for extensive laptop sessions due to makeup-style chair. Large suitcases may fit but limited walking space when opened.||**SERVICE:**|Smooth check-in/check-out process. Staff efficient and helpful throughout stay.||**BREAKFAST:**|Included breakfast buffet was decent quality but very crowded - waited 10 minutes in lobby during peak time. Food variety adequate and no items ran out despite busy period.||**MINOR ISSUES:**|Lobby has noticeable cigarette smell upon entry (though rooms are fine). Breakfast timing requires patience due to crowds.||**SOUND:**|Could hear footsteps in corridor but no noise from adjacent rooms or outside traffic.||**SURROUNDING AREA:**|Excellent access to shopping, dining and transport. KITTE Osaka and station complex provide all necessary amenities within walking distance.||**PERFECT FOR:** Business travelers, short stays, those prioritizing location over luxury, budget-conscious visitors during high-season periods||**CONSIDER ELSEWHERE:** Travelers wanting spacious rooms, extensive in-room work setup, or sensitive to smoke odors||Would stay again for future Osaka business trips. Solid choice for practical travelers who value location and efficiency over luxury amenities.

For UK readers this is essentially a low-mid tier Travelodge. |It was clean, although tired. The rooms were compact, twins much better than double as the double beds are small with one side pretty much against the wall (obstacle course to get to WC during the night). Bath shower. No safe. No water in room but drink fountain down the hall. You can collect tea from reception for free. Nowhere for luggage but we stacked behind door so it was out the way. There is no lounge or really anywhere to sit which might not be important to some but we were travelling with family and this was only hotel where we couldn’t socialise. Better for backpackers or those looking for single night where they will be out experiencing the nightlife. I would not stay again but we should have researched better as it was not fit for our purpose.

Rooms were a bit too small, at least to our understanding. This is the only reason why 3 stars but overall not bad hotel. Great location to move around and explore Osaka. Another positive side is the breakfast. Just great, rich buffet so if you chose this hotel for your stay add it up, you won’t regret it. Hotel personal was polite and friendly but English is almost non spoken. It would be handy to have at least one person with basic level of English.

I was most impressed by the convenient location which was just about 4 mins walking distance away from Osaka Station West Exit past Kitte Osaka building. As you take hotel lift up to your room, you can see the trains rumbling into or out of Osaka Station. (Thus if you are easily affected by noise, do ask for rooms that do not face the tracks.) It is very easy to get to Osaka Station City, Grand Front Osaka, Umekita Green Place and Grand Green Osaka (which has a fantastic 4-month old only onsen and wellness place at level 3) which are some of my favourite shopping centres with a great variety of offerings including tasty food. The room was of a good size compared to other hotels in Osaka and the bed was comfortable. The hotel may be old as can be told from the carpeting and there seems to be cigarette smoke ****** in but it is clean. Buffet breakfast is available for those who want at Y1980 per person although I did not try it. As for the airport limousine bus to and fro from Kansai International Airport, you just need to walk for about 4 mins to get to Herbis Osaka bus stop.

Hearton Hotel Nishiumeda is all about location: just a short walk from JR Osaka Station and the airport bus stop, which makes travel super easy. Rooms are small and the bathroom is simply small—not a capsule—but everything is clean and well kept. Breakfast on the ground floor can get crowded, so expect a short wait for a table. Staff are friendly and there are free umbrellas plus water/ice dispensers in the halls. Luggage storage is convenient if you’re taking a side trip, and despite the dated décor I’d stay again for the convenience and value.

Small typical japanese hotel room. The breakfast buffet is good. Quieter than US hotels, but occasionally you can hear some noise in the hallway.

The first impression of the whole hotel is that it is very clean and tidy. The waiters are very enthusiastic. The rooms are very clean. The surrounding transportation and catering are very convenient. The only bad thing is that as a smoker, I can't smoke. I am so suffocated.

Excellent location, distance between JR Osaka station west gate only 2 min. Staffs are enthusiastic . The only defect is the bathroom faucet is old style faucet, cannot keep water temperature stable when showering, always need to tune the output of hot water and cold water to keep the balance.
