The Best Pantry Finds From All of Canada's Provinces and Territories

"A 42-acre regenerative farm producing small-batch nonalcoholic cider that captures the naturally sweet and tart character of its apples without sweeteners or preservatives; patio tastings begin the last weekend in May, and cans are stocked at The Big Carrot Community Market and select Whole Foods and Sobeys across Ontario. They don’t ship to the U.S., but cans travel fine in checked luggage." - Aman Dosanj

A 5 for the first visit, with overnight glamping and a cider sample flight. September or October when it's cool would be nice. A 3 for the second visit where we toured the animals. The tour guide seemed generally aggravated and most animals weren't around for some reason (they were for the first visit). The cider is quite enjoyable. The other people working there were a delight.

Our family had an amazing time here! We had a group from ages 8-80 and all of us enjoyed it from beginning to end. Bree was our tour guide and she was informative and patient with us. We learned about the plants and animals. One of the best parts was playing with the piglets 🥰 these adorable mammals are sweet and playful. Go now before they get too big ! Thanks Val and Brent for accommodating us so last minute! We are greatful we go to enjoy your Farm!

We've been enjoying their excellent cider for years. We decided to do something different and join a Sugarbush Experience. What a lovely afternoon on the farm! We learned about the maple syrup making process, tasted the sweet results, and as a special treat, spent some time in the barn with the farm animals. Val and Brent are fantastic hosts ❤️. Make sure you visit in the summertime to taste some delicious cider in the forest.

A tour of this working regenerative farm and Cidery was very informative. Using natural methods to have higher crop yields and sustainable land use is the way agriculture needs to be done now and in the future if Canada is to be self sufficient. Let’s eat what we can grow here!

Maisie and I went to Heartwood for their glamping experience last year. It was so enjoyable we went back again this year. As usual, Val was so accomodating. She brought us up to date on the farm and the ongoing animal progress. I can't recommend this experience highly enough. Thanks again Val!

I visited the farm yesterday for the Animals and Awe tour. It was an absolutely amazing afternoon of self-care. I learned so much about regenerative farming. I love animals and enjoyed meeting all the farm animals, especially the most adorable piglets. Piglets are good for the soul! Everyone was so welcoming and friendly (Kieran, Val). I felt right at home. Our two tour guides (Bri and her daughter) were outstanding and were so knowledgeable. After the tour, a few of us gathered to share cider on the patio. Forest Garden was my favourite! It was so wonderful - strangers coming together sharing cider and engaging in rich discussions. It was such a relaxing, mindful and enjoyable experience. I can't think of a better way to engage in self-care. A big thank you to the Heartwood team and my new found friends on the tour for spending their afternoon with me!

The staff at Heartwood Farm and Cidery are very friendly and welcoming. They made myself and my friend feel appreciated and valued as customers. Kieran was helpful in assisting with understanding the various product options and processing our purchases. Being thanked and welcomed back at another time really made our day. The products sold are of great quality and good value. Nice to see the farm animals enjoying their day in the fields and pasture. Online purchase option is a nice feature offered.

Amazing experience tours. They also have places to stay. The whole visit was fantastic and I would definitely come back, even just for the out of the city down to earth vibe.

Yelp
Extremely delicious cider and lovely farm! We love the Community Harvest, Currant Affair, Forest Garden which is sweetened with maple syrup - so many tasty options! The flavors are very unique and many are on the dry side if you are into that. Today we got to try the new non-alcoholic organic sparkling cider which was super refreshing and the perfect amount of sweet but not too sweet. They are open for limited hours to taste and purchase in person. There are lovely big tables for socially distant gathering outdoors, and a few food items for sale like maple syrup, maple cider grilling sauce, honey, grass fed meats and fresh veggies. You can stay and hike around the forest and property and see many experiments in action. We got a little tour today and saw shiitake mushrooms growing on logs! Ice cold cider and the great outdoors what more could you want!? I heard there's going to be glamping soon! Exciting things happening here.
