Absolutely charming! The Inn is an historic home in Oban, with a beautiful garden and fascinating history. Owen welcomed us, even carried our bags upstairs. (A great relief on my recently repaired foot!) The room was cozy, but adequate. The bathroom was down the hall a few steps, but still private. Just a tub, no shower, but it had a hand shower.
Owen’s mother, June, serves breakfast. You pick among a few good options. There are also some standard items out each day: fresh and lively cheeses, smoked salmon (lox), toast, dry cereal, milk, juice, and fruit. We chose the porridge each morning. It was wonderful! We also got croissants and tea. All top-notch and June is lovely and accommodating.
The only negative is that the house sits up a very steep drive. If you have trouble walking uphill or walking on loose gravel, be sure and grab a taxi at the terminal or station! Only about 4£-5£…and worth it!
