I had stayed here in 2019 and loved it. Happy to report that it is still as friendly and clean as it was then. Lots of people are walking or cycling the Hebridean Way so lots of interesting stories. Many people with other interests too so it is a great mix.||The owner and all staff were extremely helpful and interesting. I enjoyed meeting everyone.||I used the Heb as my base for my photography and everything worked perfectly. My thanks to everyone!||John

Lovely hostel right in the centre of Stornoway. Close to the ferries. Comfy and clean beds, nice kitchen and friendly staff. There's a lovely common room, too. Will definitely be back!

My first experience of staying at a hostel and I was delighted. Everything you need, clean, quiet, comfortable, welcoming, excellent location, friendly. Good facilities, well stocked kitchen, lots of helpful information for your stay and very economical

Great Hostel, we stayed as a family of 4 (kids 5+9) in the top floor family dorm. 4 comfy and cosy beds. The top floor dorm has a shared bathroom and shower with one other dorm. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. A good size kitchen for use, has a common room as well, you can also use the outside garden. Laundry facilities are handy, washing machine and tumble dryer pay with coins. The hostel is in the middle of town so you can walk everywhere, street parking where you can find a spot or I used south beach car park which is free and 5 mins walk to the hostel. Staff are friendly and helpful, as a family it suited our needs, we would recommend and when back in Stornoway would stay again.

Very central, comfy, and clean hostel. The folks that run it are super lovely as well! the kitchen is set up for guests cooking. I stayed here for about a week while doing fieldwork and would definitely come back if I’m staying in Stornoway again!

Great hostel. Had a a private double room and shared shower room, both sparkly clean. Tea, coffee, milk, cereals, bread, butter, jam all provided which made life easier. Nice outside area and storage for bikes.

Very friendly place with lights of nice shared spaces. The beds are good for a hostel. The rooms are nothing special but not bad. The attraction is the location and the friendly volunteers

A short walk from the ferry, Heb Hostel is an excellent pick for travellers. A range of comfy accommodation and top notch in-house facilities. Special mention to Christine and her team for their service and welcome. Have no hesitation in recommending and would re-book on any later visit

Yelp
One of the best hostels I stayed in in Scotland. Great location, super warm and cozy, with a lovely peat fire in the common room. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The dorms, the whole building really, were clean and roomy. The price is also pretty much incomparable for the facilities. If I ever go back, I'll definitely stay here again.
