Very friendly place with lights of nice shared spaces. The beds are good for a hostel. The rooms are nothing special but not bad. The attraction is the location and the friendly volunteers

Very central, comfy, and clean hostel. The folks that run it are super lovely as well! the kitchen is set up for guests cooking. I stayed here for about a week while doing fieldwork and would definitely come back if I’m staying in Stornoway again!

A short walk from the ferry, Heb Hostel is an excellent pick for travellers. A range of comfy accommodation and top notch in-house facilities. Special mention to Christine and her team for their service and welcome. Have no hesitation in recommending and would re-book on any later visit

Great Hostel, we stayed as a family of 4 (kids 5+9) in the top floor family dorm. 4 comfy and cosy beds. The top floor dorm has a shared bathroom and shower with one other dorm. The bathroom was very clean and the shower was great. A good size kitchen for use, has a common room as well, you can also use the outside garden. Laundry facilities are handy, washing machine and tumble dryer pay with coins. The hostel is in the middle of town so you can walk everywhere, street parking where you can find a spot or I used south beach car park which is free and 5 mins walk to the hostel. Staff are friendly and helpful, as a family it suited our needs, we would recommend and when back in Stornoway would stay again.

This was my second visit to the Heb hostel. The hostel is located in the centre of Stornoway. The hostel is very clean and id like to thank Christian and her staff for always making me feel welcome. There are laundry facilities and safe storage for bikes located in the rear garden area .I highly recommend and I'm looking forward to returning again. Thank you.

Stayed at the HEB hostel for a week .I found the hostel to be very clean and the staff welcoming. I highly recommend and I hope to return again soon. The hostel is located in the centre of Stornoway. With easy access to shops and visitor attractions. Thank you for the warm welcome.

I've stayed in many hostels and this has to be one of my favourites. Such as lovely welcome from Christine the owner and all of the volunteers. It's clear to me that Christine wants people to feel comfortable and at home. One of the volunteers was helping for her third time - a great sign! I liked the extra touches like the board telling us what was happening locally that day. And the plants in the dorm bathroom were lovely.

This was a return visit to Stornoway, and to Heb Hostel. Lots of great points here!|- Communication with owner Christine prior to arrival was great. We really felt we could contact with any queries/assistance prior to arrival.|- On arrival (off the bus from Tarbert... after the ferry from Isle of Skye!), the member of staff who greeted us/checked us in was friendly, helpful, and tried his best to make us feel at home.|- Christine checked in with guests pretty much every evening during our stay. Phone numbers for her and the other warden (??one of her family??) were on the notice board - great to know that they're contactable and nearby!|- VERY comfy beds. We were in room 1 - 7 bed dorm. |- Most mornings we had dorm-mates getting up early to get the 7am ferry back to the mainland - we're not complaining, we knew this was a risk and were minimally disturbed by them.|- Location - the hostel is less than 5 minutes from the bus station, ferry terminal, and the centre of Stornoway.|- Breakfast - it's included in the price. There's cereal and bread (a loaf of white and a loaf of brown) available in the kitchen til 11am. |- Kitchen - it's small but well equipped. There's always milk and margarine in the fridge labelled "hostel", which is for communal use. Due to the size of the kitchen, you may need to liaise with other guests about cooking times... there's space for 5-6 people sat round the kitchen table and 1-2 people cooking/prepping food... but there's also eating space in the lounge and (weather permitting) in the garden.||We may have been in shared dorms in a hostel, but felt very at home at Heb Hostel and would recommend it to anyone looking to visit Isle of Lewis.

Yelp
One of the best hostels I stayed in in Scotland. Great location, super warm and cozy, with a lovely peat fire in the common room. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. The dorms, the whole building really, were clean and roomy. The price is also pretty much incomparable for the facilities. If I ever go back, I'll definitely stay here again.
